This article will help you know more about the gameplay of roid monsters.
Instructions for playing Android
overview
Roids are a fusion card race consisting of Machine monsters. The roid monsters mainly have support effects related to the battle phase. The card clan is not too strong at present, but with the Megaroid City environmental card , you can have many ways to coordinate with other card clans by destroying your own cards to get Kiteroid in your hand.
The roid cards

You can target 1 other card you control; destroy it, and if you do, add 1 "roid" card from your Deck to your hand. During damage calculation, if your "roid" monster battles: You can send 1 "roid" monster from your Deck to the GY; switch the original ATK and DEF of your battling monster during the damage calculation only. You can only use each effect of "Megaroid City" once per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate either of this card's effects (even if this card leaves the field).

This is an environmental spell that allows you to add an additional roid from your deck to your hand each turn by destroying another card you control. Being able to directly take a card from the deck is essential for decks to play well and be more interconnected.

If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

Submarineroid and Drillroid (Key)
Submarineroid
ATK:
800
DEF:
1800
This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is the original ATK of this card. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked or was attacked: You can change this card to Defense Position.
The main gameplay of this deck is to use Drillroid and Submarineroid to attack the opponent every turn. Once you have a stable amount of resources, you can use them and summon fusion roids from the extra deck.
- Drillroid will attack your opponent's defensive position monsters and use effects to destroy them immediately, regardless of that monster's defense.
- Submarineroid can poke opponents for 800 LP each turn and then switch defenses after attacking. 1800 DEF is also a pretty good number for a level 4 monster like Submarineroid .
Floodgate Trap Hole, Book of Moon and Paleozoic Canadia (Support)
Paleozoic Canadia
Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. Once per Chain, when a Trap Card is activated while this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Aqua/WATER/Level 2/ATK 1200/DEF 0). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap.) If Summoned this way, this card is unaffected by monster effects, also banish it when it leaves the field.
Using cards that can turn monsters into defensive position, or placing that monster face down can also prevent the opponent from being able to use that monster as synchro, xyz material, as well as help the player take over. Active position helps Drillroid to more easily destroy enemy monsters.
Windstorm of Etaqua and Pulse Mines (Some other options for the deck)
(first) If you control a Machine monster: Change your opponent's Attack Position monsters (if any) to Defense Position , also, until the end of this turn, if a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's field, change them to Defense Position . |
Pulse Mines can help you pass your opponent's turn easily!
Mixeroid and Truckroid (T set end turn...)
Mixeroid
ATK:
0
DEF:
2200
You can Tribute 1 Machine monster; Special Summon 1 non-WIND "roid" monster from your Deck. You can pay half your LP and banish any number of Machine monsters from your GY, including this card; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "roid" Fusion Monster with the same Level as the number of those banished monsters, ignoring its Summoning conditions, but destroy it during the End Phase. You can only use each effect of "Mixeroid" once per turn.
Truckroid
(first) When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Equip the destroyed monster to this card. (2) This card gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of the monsters equipped to it by this effect. |
Mixeroid and Truckroid have great defense, in the worst case, you can set them face down and end the turn.
Truckroid's monster take effect can be disruptive in some cases because it can prevent destroyed monsters from going to the grave, preventing them from using effects in the grave if they have any.
Megaroid City (Not just a searcher)
Megaroid City
You can target 1 other card you control; destroy it, and if you do, add 1 "roid" card from your Deck to your hand. During damage calculation, if your "roid" monster battles: You can send 1 "roid" monster from your Deck to the GY; switch the original ATK and DEF of your battling monster during the damage calculation only. You can only use each effect of "Megaroid City" once per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate either of this card's effects (even if this card leaves the field).
Megaroid City can be used to destroy your Emergeroid Call to use Emergeroid Call 's grave effect. If you go turn 1, you can get Kiteroid in your hand or sometimes you don't need to use this effect. When you take turn 2, depending on the situation, you will have different cards to destroy or cards to put in your hand.
Megaroid City can also swap the attack of roid monsters during battle by sending a roid from the deck to the grave. With this effect you can turn Mixeroids or Truckroids into destructive monsters if the opponent subjectively attacks them.
Taking advantage of this effect can help you thin your deck as well as add bait for Mixeroid .
Send a roid monster you desperately need in your hand to the grave, Emergeroid Call or Expressroid will help you pick it back up in your hand.
You can send a Kiteroid to the grave with this effect, the Kiteroid in the grave can deal 1 direct attack to you that turn.
Necro Fusion and Polymerization (Supports fusion summoning)
Necro Fusion
(first) Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your GY face-down, but it cannot attack this turn. |
In addition to Vehicroid Connection Zone , you can also use additional cards to support fusion summoning.
Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union, Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine and Steam Gyroid (Extra deck)
Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union
ATK:
3600
DEF:
3000
"Truckroid" + "Expressroid" + "Drillroid" + "Stealthroid" Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up non-Machine monster on the field; equip that target to this card. While equipped with a monster by this effect, this card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If this card attacks, its original ATK is halved. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage.
Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine
ATK:
4000
DEF:
4000
5 Machine-Type "roid" monsters This card can make a second attack during each Battle Phase. This card cannot attack your opponent directly. After damage calculation, if this card attacked an opponent's monster: Negate the effects of that monster (including in the Graveyard). If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
The fusion roid monsters really don't have any outstanding abilities. However, because there is not much support for restocking roid monsters, you will easily get tired of games where your monsters are destroyed very easily early on. These fusion monsters are summoned by removing materials from the grave, so you will save a lot of cards in your hand as well as make full use of the roid monsters in the grave.
Pair Cycroid and Super Vehicroid Jumbo Drill (Extra deck)

Rescueroid (x1)
Rescueroid is played in the deck for the sole purpose of summoning Purgatrio (which can be added to the hand with Megaroid City ). Use the Rescueroid on your hand to fuse the first Purgatrio . Because Invocation can banish monsters from the grave to summon Invoked, you can take advantage of the Rescueroid from the grave to summon the second Purgatrio .
Megaroid City and Aleister the Invoker (2 cards Purgatrio)
Megaroid City
You can target 1 other card you control; destroy it, and if you do, add 1 "roid" card from your Deck to your hand. Aleister can be banished from the grave to fusion summon using Invocation . After using the Invocation effect on Aleister 's hand, use Megaroid City to destroy Aleister, get Rescueroid on his hand and summon Purgatrio .
Megaroid City, Rescueroid and Kiteroid (roid cards are used)
Megaroid City
You can target 1 other card you control; destroy it, and if you do, add 1 "roid" card from your Deck to your hand. During damage calculation, if your "roid" monster battles: You can send 1 "roid" monster from your Deck to the GY; switch the original ATK and DEF of your battling monster during the damage calculation only. You can only use each effect of "Megaroid City" once per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate either of this card's effects (even if this card leaves the field).
Kiteroid
ATK:
200
DEF:

During damage calculation, if your opponent's monster attacks directly (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; you take no battle damage from that battle. During damage calculation, if your opponent's monster attacks directly (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your Graveyard; you take no battle damage from that battle.
You can minimize the number of roid cards when playing with Invoked. The main purpose when you play roid with Invoked is that you can get the materials for Purgatrio from the deck using Megaroid City .
Megaroid City can destroy Aleister after using the search effect, helping you get Purgatrio easily without losing 2 cards in your hand ( Megaroid City + Aleister ). In addition, Megaroid City also helps you get Kiteroid , a good protection monster used in most decks.
