... Whatever comes must come, even though I hate this deck, I will still post it for you to have an overview of this Black Luster Soldier deck, also known as BLS.
Anime deck + cheat Skill = ez tier 1, is this a brainless p2w deck that can be played?? Let's see too
Instructions for playing Black Luster Soldier
Sections covered in this guide:
Skill
Yep, Skill will be the first thing mentioned because everyone knows what this deck is strongest for...
The Soul of Light and Darkness (Skill Card) (100%)
The Soul of Light and Darkness (Skill Card)
ATK:

DEF:

At the beginning of the Duel, add the Soul of Light and Darkness and 1 Super Soldier Ritual to your Graveyard. During this Duel, you can only Special Summon "Gaia The Fierce Knight" monsters, "Black Luster Soldier" monsters, and monsters without Rank or Level. Once per turn, you can activate the following effect when you Special Summon a "Black Luster Soldier" monster. Add 1 "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster when there are no cards with the same name in your Graveyard and field, and add it from the Deck to your hand. Then, select up to 3 banished cards of yours and return them to your Graveyard. After so, for once per Duel only, if there is "Black Luster Soldier" on your field, you can Set 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your field.
+7 Grave Card for nothing?
- Maybe we should speak slowly, because this skill is quite long. Right now we see adding a bunch of something to the grave, but we'll leave it for later. The important thing is the second sentence - it's almost a side effect (the deck's summon limit) to make it less strong. But WTF Konami?? It only prevents us from Synchro and XYZ , what about Link??? The current meta can be mixed with a bunch of awesome Link engines, bro?? So this deck is still playable with Link Monster in Extra .
- Usually on my first turn, I will immediately Ritual 1 BLS with "Super Soldier Ritual" along with 2 ingredients in the grave.
Then: add another free BLS from the deck to your hand, set 1 ritual spell from the deck to the field (can be Chaos Form), Return 3 banished cards to the grave (3 cards I used for ritual) to prepare for the next turn Following the next ritual,.....
Dcm writes but feels like he's talking like a bot, what skill is fake, dirty buff imitating fifai
Pile of cards in the grave
Arisen Gaia the Fierce Knight
ATK:
2300
DEF:
2100
If your opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. If this card is Tributed: You can Special Summon 1 "Black Luster Soldier" monster from your hand or Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Arisen Gaia the Fierce Knight" once per turn. When you Ritual Summon a "Black Luster Soldier" monster, you can banish this card from your Graveyard as 1 of the monsters required for the Ritual Summon.
Charging Gaia the Fierce Knight
ATK:
2300
DEF:
2100
You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. If this card is Normal Summoned without Tributing, its original ATK becomes 1900. If this card is Tributed: You can add 1 "Black Luster Soldier" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Charging Gaia the Fierce Knight" once per turn.
Super Soldier Ritual
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels exactly equal 8. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card, 1 LIGHT monster, and 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster from your hand, ignoring its Summoning conditions. You can only use this effect of "Super Soldier Ritual" once per turn.
This is the pile added to the grave through Skill. The most notable card is the ritual spell " Super Soldier Ritual ":
- This card can be activated the same turn it is added to the graveyard through Skills. Ritual 1 BLS in hand ignores the million condition Its recovery is only from the ingredients provided in the grave. Note that this is Hard one per turn , so after bringing it back from the banish area to the grave, you have to wait until the next turn to use it again.
Black Luster Soldier
Because this deck has up to 3 Ritual monsters and all the monsters are named Black Luster Soldier , I will abbreviate them quickly and to differentiate:
- Legendary Swordsman
- Super Soldier
- BLS
Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier (x1)
Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Super Soldier Ritual". If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK in the Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, or if this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Gaia The Fierce Knight" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only Special Summon "Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier(s)" once per turn.
To make it short, Super Soldier is the best turn 1 card because of its effect when leaving the field (+1 Gaia on the field)
The main role of this card is a beater with 3000 ATK, also burn damage.
Arisen Gaia the Fierce Knight and Charging Gaia the Fierce Knight (Gaia)
Included with Super Soldier are these 2 Gaia cards (these are added to the grave through skills so they do not take up deck slots)
There is nothing to say too much when their effect is to replace meat when Super Soldier leaves the field
Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman (x1)
Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Chaos Form" or "Super Soldier Ritual". Must be Ritual Summoned. During your Draw Phase, before you draw: You can reveal this card in your hand; give up your normal draw this turn, and if you do, add 1 Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects during your Battle Phase. When this attacking card, that was Ritual Summoned using a Normal Monster, destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can shuffle all cards your opponent controls into the Deck.
The ideal card to summon on turn 2, it has enough elements to become a beater that every deck wants to have:
- ATK 3000 also forces opp not to be ALLOWED to activate effs in the battle phase (in Duel Links, cards that have the ability to prevent enemies from activating effects in the Damage Step are already very good), making this card counter everything that prevents us from attacking like Mirror Force , Magic Cylinder, ... or simply those who don't read and save Disruption until the Battle Phase to use it.
- Because the skill has given us a bunch of normal monsters in the grave, this card has 100% chance of having 1 additional effect when attacking and destroying a monster : Return all opp's cards. Combined with the above effect, the opp flying the whole field will almost happen (unless we encounter some Uneffected cards) -> thereby finishing off the opponent with an empty field.
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning (x3)
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your GY. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects. ● Target 1 monster on the field; banish it. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated. ● If this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: It can make a second attack in a row.
This is an important core card that needs to be x3 in this deck. It is also counted as a Special Summoned BLS so it will activate the Skill . Cards that are banned as a condition for summoning this card will also be returned to the grave via skill.
The effectiveness of the two effects is summarized as follows:
- The first effect is also the most important effect, banish 1 monster to open the way (because sometimes we cannot rely on Legendary Swordman). Although you cannot attack on the turn using this ability, you can use it as a material to summon Link
- The second eff is simply punching a monster, giving you +1 attack. But to be honest, I rarely use it because once I punch, I usually use Legendary Swordman
Master
This Engine is the best Engine for BLS.
Endymion the Magistus of Mastery (x3)
Endymion, the Magistus of Mastery
ATK:
1300
DEF:
1700
You can target 1 "Magistus" monster you control; equip it with 1 "Magistus" monster from your Extra Deck. You can target 1 face-up Spell you control; destroy it, and if you do, draw 1 card, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the Deck. You can only use each effect of "Endymion, the Magistus of Mastery" once per turn.
Endymion has many uses to bring advantage to this deck that only costs 1 normal summon (while BLS doesn't even need a Normal summon :v).
The effect of equipping 1 Magistus from the extra deck and then the 2nd effect is to destroy one of your own face-up spells/traps, bringing different effects depending on the Magistus card you use to Equip and I will talk about it later.
A simple turn 1 combo with this card is :
- Normal summon this card
- Equip Artemis in extra deck
- Activate the second effect, destroy Artemis
- Artemis's effect will search for 1 more Endymion from the deck - at the same time chain to Draw and return the Endymion card just searched
Artemis the Magistus Moon Maiden (x2)

1 Level 4 or lower Spellcaster monster If another "Magistus" monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned while you control this monster (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 of those monsters; equip this card you control to it. While this card is equipped to a monster: You can add 1 "Magistus" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden" once per turn. You can only Special Summon "Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden" once per turn.
Reading the previous part, we will see that Artemis will mainly be used to equip on turn 1 to search for 1 copy of Endymion to increase card advantage.
The remaining Magistus
Vahram, the Magistus Divinity Dragon
ATK:
2500
DEF:
2900
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters While this card is an Equip Card, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by your opponent's Spell/Trap effects. You can only use each of the following effects of "Vahram, the Magistus Divinity Dragon" once per turn. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed: You can destroy all face-up cards your opponent controls. At the start of the Damage Step, if the monster this card is equipped to battles an opponent's monster: You can destroy that opponent's monster.
Rilliona, the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe
ATK:
1000
DEF:
2800
2 Level 4 Spellcaster monsters with different Attributes You can detach 1 material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Magistus" monster from your Deck, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except "Magistus" monsters. While this card is equipped to a monster: You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Rilliona, the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe" once per turn.
Aiwass, the Magistus Spell Spirit
ATK:
2000
DEF:
2800
1 "Magistus" monster + 1 Spellcaster monster While this card is an Equip Card, the equipped monster gains 1000 ATK/DEF. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can target 1 other face-up monster on the field; equip this card you control to it. If this card was equipped to an opponent's monster by this effect, take control of the equipped monster, also it cannot activate its effects. You can only use this effect of "Aiwass, the Magistus Spell Spirit" once per turn.
Ninaruru, the Magistus Glass Goddess
ATK:
1800
DEF:
2400
2 Level 4 Spellcaster monsters While this card is an Equip Card, the equipped monster can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ninaruru, the Magistus Glass Goddess" once per turn. You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 Level 4 or higher Spellcaster monster in your GY; add it to your hand. While this card is equipped to a monster: You can target 1 "Magistus" card in your Spell & Trap Zone and 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy them.
Similar to Artemis, these 4 cards will also be equipped into Endymion through his effect, then activate the Effect. Each of these 4 cards has the same usage, but the effects are slightly different:
- Ninaruru : Destroy 1 spell/trap
- Aiwass : Buff 1000 ATK/DEF for Endymion
- Rilliona : Negate your opponent's effect monster
- Vahram : Helps Destroy monsters when Endymion attacks
Tech & Spell/Trap
Chaos Form (x1)
Chaos Form
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Chaos" or "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field and/or banish "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" or "Dark Magician" from your GY, whose total Levels exactly equal the Level of the "Chaos" or "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon.
Chaos Form is a ritual card that uses materials from the grave, so it's very gentle. In addition, the dirty buff skill makes the chance of us having this card 100%, so we only need x1 (because of the skill, no one wants to pick it up in their hand :v)
D.D. Crow and Effect Veiler (Handtrap)
Now the hand trap in Duel Links is quite convenient and has a certain discomfort for opp, replacing it with other techs is ok so we can use it.
Crackdown and Warning Point (Trap )
This deck has a core that takes up few slots, so we have a lot of slots left over for cards like this.
Enemy Controller and Book of Moon (Quick Spell)
The deck is strong but doesn't have any problems - there aren't any cards that are limited, so we can fit the Enemy Controller without thinking too much.
Artifact Lancea (bonus)
Artifact Lancea
ATK:
1700
DEF:
2300
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell. During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your GY: Special Summon it. During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up field; neither player can banish cards for the rest of this turn.
Used to deal with Cosmic, Tenyi, Phantom Knights,.... even BLS.

You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Phoenix" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.

2+ monsters with different names If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 card on the field; shuffle it into the Deck, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Unicorn" once per turn. While any co-linked "Knightmare" monsters are on the field, for your normal draw in your Draw Phase, draw 1 card for each different card name among those co-linked "Knightmare" monsters, instead of drawing just 1 card.
Too familiar....

2 monsters with different names All Warrior monsters on the field gain 500 ATK. If this Link Summoned card is destroyed by battle, or by an opponent's card effect while in its owner's Monster Zone: You can target 1 non-Link Warrior monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use this effect of "Ferocious Flame Swordsman" once per turn.
3000 ATK is not too much now in Duel Links, the average bosses are now 3k so buffing 500 ATK for Warrior monsters seems small but is incredibly effective.
