Scarm Malebranche of the Burning Abyss (X2-3)
Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
800
DEF:
2000
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. You can only use 1 of these effects of "Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" per turn, and only once that turn. ● If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● During the End Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was sent there this turn: You can add 1 Level 3 DARK Fiend-Type monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss".
Possessing all 3 effects [1] [2] [3] as mentioned above, Scarm also has a search effect but only searches when End Phase and this card is still in the grave. Although the search speed is slow, the thing that makes this card famous is the search for a DARK Fiend Level 3 monster, so whether you are a pure Burning Abyss or a mercenary for a deck using another DARK Fiend engine, it is still very suitable.
Cir Malebranche of the Burning Abyss (X3)

Rubic, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
100
DEF:
2100
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. Cannot be used as a Synchro Material, except for the Synchro Summon of a "Burning Abyss" Synchro Monster. If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Rubic, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" once per turn.
Rubik's cube has effects [1] [2]
Malacoda Netherlord of the Burning Abyss (X0-3)
Malacoda, Netherlord of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
2700
DEF:
2200
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Good & Evil in the Burning Abyss". Must be Ritual Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can send 1 "Burning Abyss" monster from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; until the end of this turn, that target loses ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of the "Burning Abyss" monster sent to the Graveyard this way. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 card on the field; send it to the Graveyard.
This card has 6 stars, which means that by using 2 Burning Abyss monsters and 1 Ritual Spell " Good And Evil In Burning Abyss ", Malacoda has the ability to throw 1 Burning Abyss card to reduce the opponent's attack/defense with monster attack/defense. Just thrown, due to the change in attack/defense, when activated at Damage Step, the opponent is almost unable to block it. In addition, throwing the Burning Abyss monster also helps that monster trigger effects such as removing the opponent's monster from play, summarizing sandbags from the grave, preventing effects,... And if this card is accidentally sent to the grave, you target it. 1 card from the opponent and SEND TO THE GRAVE. Because it is SEND, monsters that are not destroyed in the current meta must also succumb to this effect.
Libic Malebranche of the Burning Abyss (X0-3)
Libic, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:

DEF:
700
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. You can only use 1 of these effects of "Libic, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" per turn, and only once that turn. ● If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 Level 3 DARK Fiend-Type monster from your hand, but its effects are negated.
Libic has all 3 effects [1] [2] [3]

Barbar, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
1700
DEF:
1000
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. You can only use 1 of these effects of "Barbar, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" per turn, and only once that turn. ● If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target up to 3 "Burning Abyss" cards in your Graveyard, except "Barbar, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss"; banish them, and if you do, inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each.
Barbar has all 3 effects [1] [2] [3]
Cagna Malebranche of the Burning Abyss (X0-3)
Cagna, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
1500
DEF:
300
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. You can only use 1 of these effects of "Cagna, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" per turn, and only once that turn. ● If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can send 1 "Burning Abyss" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to the Graveyard.
Cagna has all 3 effects [1] [2] [3]
Draghig Malebranche of the Burning Abyss (X0-3)
Draghig, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
1100
DEF:
900
If you control a monster that is not a "Burning Abyss" monster, destroy this card. You can only use 1 of these effects of "Draghig, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" per turn, and only once that turn. ● If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can choose 1 "Burning Abyss" card from your Deck and place it on top of your Deck.
Draghig has all 3 effects [1] [2] [3]
Good & Evil in the Burning Abyss (X0-3)
Good & Evil in the Burning Abyss
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Malacoda, Netherlord of the Burning Abyss". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal 6 or more. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard and send 1 "Burning Abyss" monster from your hand to the Graveyard; add 1 "Burning Abyss" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Good & Evil in the Burning Abyss" once per turn.
This card has 2 uses, sometimes even if they don't bring a Ritual monster, they still put 1 to 2 copies of this card in to take advantage of the search effect of this card. However, it is not necessary to bring these 3 cards because they have the ability to search because they will sometimes cause bricks and can only be searched when they are sent to the grave from the previous turn. But if you play Ritual, you can still consider x3 as usual.
The Traveler and the Burning Abyss (X0-2)
This is a slow trap card, although there is a possibility of 1 trade for 3 (if you destroy 3 Burning Abyss monsters), but if this card is destroyed before the opponent attacks, or the opponent pushes back or banishes, it is considered a loss. especially in a meta where there are as many Harpies and MSTs as there are now. So even though it's summoned from the grave and doesn't prevent effects, there's a high chance this card will be destroyed before use or won't have a chance to return to use.
Extra Deck
Dante Traveler of the Burning Abyss (X1-3)
Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
1000
DEF:
2500
2 Level 3 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card and choose a number from 1 to 3, then send that many cards from the top of your Deck to the GY; until the end of this turn, this card gains 500 ATK for each card sent to the GY this way. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 "Burning Abyss" card in your GY, except this card; add it to your hand.
Dante has the ability that when the effect is activated, even if it is blocked, he will still throw the card to the grave (due to the cost), this is the most important reason why Dante becomes a mill deck lord, a mercenary boss. In addition, if Dante accidentally goes to the grave, he will activate the effect and take 1 Burning Abyss card from the grave. Dante has the ability to both mill and recycle very powerfully, and also has the ability to attack with a defense of 2500, enough to block some mid-range monsters.
Virgil Rock Star of the Burning Abyss (X0-1)
Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss
ATK:
2500
DEF:
1000
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters You can only control 1 "Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss". Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Burning Abyss" card, then target 1 card your opponent controls or in their Graveyard; shuffle it into the Deck. If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss" once per turn.
Virgil is rarely used as a mercenary like Dante because the effect is too difficult to use. Virgil has the ability to throw a Burning Abyss monster and push bastards like Kiteroid , Bloom Diva , and Dreadmaster back to the deck. With Dante 's body reversed (original ATK/DEF), Virgil can push the boss back and punch his followers or punch straight at the origin to create a path for OTK. And if Virgil falls into the grave, you... Draw 1 card...
Staple
Cosmic Cyclone and Mystical Space Typhoon (X0-3)
The same goal is to not give the opponent a chance to harass you, but Cosmic Cyclone and MST follow two separate playing styles.
Book of Moon and Forbidden Chalice (X0-3)
They all have the same ability to lock the effects of monsters that can attack opponents during your turn so you can combo more easily, but BoM and Chalice are used depending on different situations such as:
Super Team Buddy Force Unite! and Breakthrough Skill (X0-3)
Super Team Buddy Force Unite!
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY, with the same original Type as that monster's, but with a different original name. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Set 1 "Super Team Buddy Force Unite!" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone.
Breakthrough Skill
Target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; that face-up monster your opponent controls has its effects negated until the end of this turn. During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; that target has its effects negated until the end of this turn.
Breakthrough Skill is very famous because it is a "rich man's card". Breakthrough Skill can target and prevent the effects of a monster until the end of the turn. But what makes it stand out is if it is accidentally milled to the grave thanks to the effects of Dante, Lightsworn,... It can still Banish yourself to target and prevent monster effects on the field until the end of your turn.
Some other fighting methods use the Lightsworn mechanism
Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn
ATK:
2600
DEF:
2000
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters Once per turn: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 card on the field; banish that target. When this card is destroyed: You can target any number of other "Lightsworn" monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle them into the Deck, and if you do, you gain 300 LP for each returned card. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.
Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn
ATK:
1700
DEF:
1000
During your Main Phase: You can send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the GY, then if any "Lightsworn" monsters were sent to the GY by this effect, this card gains 200 ATK until the end of your opponent's turn. You can only use this effect of "Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn" once per turn. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the GY.
Decks with Lightsworn are often decks that need to throw cards into the grave to be able to combo, or recycle from the grave to the hand. In Burning Abyss, when thrown into the grave, these monsters will trigger effects even though the Burning Abyss self-explosion effect will deactivate itself, but if you have a Burning Abyss Ritual, As strong as Lightsworn is very good.
Glow-Up Bulb and Crane Crane (X0-3)
Crane Crane, when summoned, will usually revive a Level 3 monster in the grave, BUT THE EFFECT IS PREVENTED. This means your Burning Abyss monster does not explode, but when it goes to the grave it still activates its effect and is a free card. F2P should be x3
Chaos Dragon Levianeer and The Melody of Awakening Dragon (X0-3)
Chaos Dragon Levianeer
ATK:
3000
DEF:
0
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 3 LIGHT and/or DARK monsters from your GY. When Summoned this way: You can activate this effect; apply the following effect, based on the Attribute(s) of the monsters banished for the Special Summon, also this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn. ● Only LIGHT: Special Summon 1 monster from your GY in Defense Position. ● Only DARK: Shuffle 1 random card from your opponent's hand into the Deck. ● Both LIGHT and DARK: Destroy up to 2 cards on the field. You can only use this effect of "Chaos Dragon Levianeer" once per turn.
If you mix with a light system like Lightsworn, you should add Levianeer to your deck, Levianeer has an effect that is spammed as well as fear or when mentioning Levianeer you often forget its other 2 effects and only remember 1. The only effect is to destroy 2 of your cards (no target). Because of this effect, if you don't understand the rule or you don't have any effect active at that moment, you will be at a very disadvantage. For example, if you set 2 Karma Cut and have 1 Blue-Eyes on the field, when Levianeer jumps out, you activate Karma Cut and choose Levianeer . THEN RIGHT NOW Levianeer can fire 1 of your unactivated Karma Cut and 1 Blue-Eyes as usual without you being able to react (because it doesn't target). So Levianeer is a card to bring when mixing light and dark.
Fiend Griefing (X0-3)
Griefing has the ability to make decks that need monsters in the grave like Blue-Eyes, Lightsworn have difficulty thanks to the Egg pushing effect or Levianeer , Raiden ,... About DECKS. Then you throw 1 Fiend monster to the grave. Burning Abyss monsters only require monsters to be sent to the grave to activate effects, so sending deck cards to the grave is like using the Number 70 ( Farfa ) effect, preventing monster effects, etc. Without the cost, Also feeds graves and increases resources.
Raigeki Break and Karma Cut (X0-3)
Both cards use the cost of throwing any card in your hand to the grave and target, however.
Lightning Vortex (X0-3)
The effect is very simple, you discard 1 card from your hand to the grave to destroy all monsters on the field (and of course use it to punch untargeted enemies). Lightning Vortex is a strong card, with a cost depending on the situation. If the opponent's monster is not destroyed, you can throw Farfa , if you need a combo, Cir ,...
Staple Extra Deck
Number 20: Giga-Brilliant, Digital Bug Corebage, Gaia Dragon and the Thunder Charger (X0-1)
Digital Bug Corebage
ATK:
2200
DEF:
1800
2 or more Level 5 LIGHT Insect-Type monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 2 Xyz Materials from a Rank 3 or 4 Insect-Type Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. Once per turn, if the battle position of a monster(s) on the field is changed (except during the Damage Step): You can attach 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material.
Number 20 here is a monster that is only used as a material for higher ranks. Because the summoning conditions only require 2 Level 3 monsters, many people bring Number 20 as a Staple for the F2P version of the Extra Deck.
Number 47: Nightmare Shark (X0-2)
Number 47: Nightmare Shark
ATK:
2000
DEF:
2000
2 Level 3 monsters When this card is Special Summoned: You can attach 1 Level 3 WATER monster from your hand or your side of the field to this card as an Xyz Material. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 WATER monster you control; this turn, that monster can attack your opponent directly, also other monsters cannot attack.
Number 47: Nightmare Shark has an extremely dirty ability, which is to spend 1 Xyz material to punch straight at your starting point with a 2k ATK body. Although the side effect is that your other monster cannot attack when it uses the effect, but if you cannot block it, another Number 47 will come onto the field and punch you again (if used to hit the original point, it usually brings 2 leaves ). Nightmare Shark has the ability to overcome all large-bodied enemy monsters and win (if not blocked).
Wind-Up Zenmaines (X0-1)
This card has the ability to destroy 2 times, and if it is still alive it will shoot 1 opponent's card. This card is often used when going first or when it is not clear what the opponent is playing with a dense backrow (shiranui, gouki,...)
