Instructions for playing Fire King
Brief introduction
Fire King is a card clan revolving around Winged Beast and fire-type Beast-Warrior monsters. The deck has a unique gameplay with the ability to self-destruct Fire Kings to achieve the requirement to be able to activate their effects from the grave in standby phases.
The cards in the Fire King clan have interconnected effects that make your deck very convenient for combos. Key monsters have the ability to prevent opponents from comboing and have wide-area destructive effects.
However, for Fire Kings to activate the effect, it takes up to 1 turn and some cannot actively activate the effect. Furthermore, this is a deck that depends a lot on the grave, so the opponent can take advantage of this to weaken your Fire Kings.

When destroyed by effect: in the next standby phase, High Garunix will be summoned back to the field. This turns the monster destruction effects of Fire Kings, or cards with other destruction effects, from being disadvantageous into beneficial effects for the player. Furthermore, when summoned this way, all remaining monsters on the field are destroyed.

Onslaught will be a card that will help you from turn 2 onwards. It allows you to call any fire-type Beast, Beast-Warrior or Winged Beast monster from your deck, not just the Fire King, however the summoned monster's effects will be negated.
But fortunately, this monster will be destroyed at the end of the turn. For Fire King, the cards that are destroyed by effects are not all because most Fire King monsters have special abilities activated. Especially when destroyed by effects from other cards.

The deck will play around the Arvata monster, using Arvata 's effect to negate the activation of the opponent's monster ability, interrupting their combo. Note, to use this effect, you must have another FIRE monster in your hand or on the field. Arvata is level 4 so summoning normally is very easy.
Arvata can destroy any fire-type monster when activating its effect, you can take advantage of this to have good deck-building directions when combined with other fire-type monsters.

Tenki

Using Tenki or Island can help you get Arvata in your hand.
All three cards, Barong , Tenki , and Island , allow you to get the Fire King from the deck into your hand. These cards can be combined with other Fire Kings to make your deck more linked and comboable. smoother. However, each card has a different way of use as well as different advantages and disadvantages, so it is necessary to consider the situation to be able to use them optimally.
Barong :
- Can help you get any Fire King card (monster, spell, trap).
- Because it is a monster, Barong can use it to fight like other monsters when it is not necessary to add more resources. Barong also has an effect that can be summoned from the hand when one of your Fire King monsters is destroyed by the effect.
- However, Barong 's effect of getting cards into your hand is slow, you have to wait 1 turn to use this effect.
Tenki :
- Can help you get Barong or Arvata right into your hand when activated.
- Normally with 1 Tenki, you can only get 1 Beast-Warrior monster.
- Because it is an eternal magic, once activated, Tenki will still be on the field. This can sometimes jam the slots of other cards.
Island :
- Island is an environmental spell so it will have its own position and will not compete with Tenki .
- Unlike Barong , Island can only get monsters in its hand. Island has an advantage over Tenki in that Island can get High Garunix into its hand.
- Barong and Tenki 's effects can only be used at a certain time. Island can be used every turn if desired, as long as you have monsters in your hand or field for Island to destroy.
- Island can destroy any monster, not just fire-type monsters or Fire King monsters.

In addition to Arvata , the deck also has another destructive monster, High Garunix . This is also a win condition for Fire King.
Try to combine other effects together to activate High Garunix 's monster destruction effect, but monsters on your field will also be destroyed.
Fire King Island and Onslaught of the Fire Kings (The card helps you call the boss the fastest)

Onslaught is a good card that can help you call High Garunix directly from your deck to the field. Additionally, at the end of the turn, Onslaught will destroy the summoned High Garunix . High Garunix is eligible to be special summoned in the next standby phase, activating a claw effect that sweeps all monsters on the field.
Onslaught is a card that is only strong when going later and is a normal spell, so this can be a dead card if unfortunately you go turn 1 or when the opponent's field has no monsters.
Using Island 's effect, when you control no monsters, you can special summon High Garunix from your hand to the field.

With Island and Barong (can be picked up with Tenki ) in hand, you will have a perfect setup for your turn:
- Activate Island , use Island's effect to destroy Barong and add Arvata to your hand.
- Normal summon Arvata to help you stay on the field next turn and end the turn.
- During the enemy's standby phase, Barong will use the effect because he was destroyed by Island . Use this effect of Barong to get High Garunix in your hand.
- If you need to negate an opponent's monster's effect with Arvata , destroy High Garunix in your hand.
- After the opponent ends its turn, in your standby phase, High Garunix is eligible to activate the effect and will special summon to the field.
- High Garunix continues to flash an effect that destroys all other monsters on the field (including Arvata on your side of the field).
- Arvata can activate an effect after being destroyed to summon Barong from the grave to the field.
- At the end of that phase, Barong summoned by Arvata will be destroyed. During the opponent's next standby phase, Barong will activate the effect and add another Fire King card to his hand from the deck.

Not in all cases do you want High Garunix to activate the effect of destroying monsters on the field ( High Garunix 's effect is required).
One of those cases is that you still want to keep your Arvata monster on the field for another purpose. In this case, you can keep Arvata by using Avatar to negate High Garunix 's destruction effect, then destroy the High Garunix whose effect is disabled.
This way, you can delay High Garunix 's effect until the next turn, and you can also do the same on the next turn if you still want to keep Arvata on the field, but during that turn Arvata cannot be activated. Re-enable the disable effect again.

High Garunix loop simply uses High Garunix 's effect to destroy another High Garunix available on your field. During the next standby phase, High Garunix from the grave will emerge and activate an effect that destroys all other monsters on the field, including High Garunix that was previously on the field. As a result, in each standby phase, there is only High Garunix on the field.
To perform combos you need to have 2 High Garunix :
- A High Garunix on the field.
- And find a way to destroy the second High Garunix .
This loop combo creates a characteristic of Fire King's gameplay. Although strong, the combo takes a lot of cards to set up so it is difficult to perform and the combo will easily be interrupted if High Garunix fails to activate its effect.
(first) Target 1 FIRE monster you control and 1 FIRE monster in your GY; destroy that monster you control, and if you do, Special Summon that other monster from your GY. You can only activate 1 "Circle of the Fire Kings" per turn. |
Tip for loop combo: Use Circle of the Fire Kings to summon High Garunix from the grave and destroy 1 available High Garunix on your field.
Circle of the Fire Kings is a quick-play spell, so you can take advantage of this advantage to summon monsters in the battle phase to deal additional damage to your opponent.
Using Circle of the Fire Kings to destroy Barong or High Garunix and pull up Arvata from the grave will both give you a monster that can prevent the opponent's combo and create conditions for other Fire Kings to activate effects.
Island when leaving the field can destroy all monsters you control. This is an advantage for the Fire Kings. You can actively use this effect by replacing an Island other than the existing Island on the field.

Tiger King can pull Tenki from the deck to the field, in addition to the ability to neutralize wide-area monster powers. These are very powerful effects, but very few decks can take advantage of the power of this monster because the summoning conditions are very difficult.

(first) You can target 1 Level 4 FIRE Beast-Warrior-Type monster in your Graveyard ; Special Summon it in face-up Defense Position . Its effects are negated. You can only use the effect of "Coach Soldier Wolfbark" once per turn. |

Megaroid City can help you facilitate Fire Kings using their effects. Besides, getting more Kiteroids from the deck into your hand helps you survive one more turn of your opponent, compensating for Fire King's weaknesses when their effects are slow and passive.
