Instructions for playing Rokket

Instructions for playing Rokket

Rokket is a quite interesting and strong archetype, even at the moment it is holding a tier 3 position on the tier list. The only problem I encountered when playing this deck was drawing a Boot Sector, but in return the deck has the ability to cope very well with the opponent's "interruption" effects.

You will often see rokket having many Special summons, from there progressing to summoning extra monsters. Another strong point that this deck has in Duel Links is that it absorbs skills and has a lot of extra slots in the main deck so it can flexibly give up slots to other staples.

As mentioned above, the only problem with this deck is that it has to draw a Boot Sector because Skill has guaranteed us that we can place it from the Deck onto the field.

Another effect of this skill sends 1 Dillingerous Dragon from outside the deck to the grave. This is a fairly stable card as it can crawl onto the field as a material to link to higher cards because it itself is Link 2. However, this effect is not used very often because it takes place on turn 3. (mine) has just been used and Linking to Borreload Dragon is quite difficult.

And finally, pay attention to the conditions for using skills!

Rocked Monsters & Engine

Rokket Tracer

First, let's mention the main starter of the Deck: Rokket Tracer . A card with a quick effect that allows you to target a face-up card on your field and destroy it, while also summoning another rokket from the deck.

What makes this card special is the Quick Effect, let me explain:

  • One thing that is often seen in starters with quick effects is that they can chain immediately after being hit with destructive effects, so they can still activate the effect by targeting themselves and catching the opponent's staple.

  • The second thing is that it can combine very well with the quick spell: Quick Launch , these two cards can complement each other to avoid enemy interference effects. At the same time, if we turn on Toggle On , we can Chain Quick Launch right after Tracer, Tracer targets Quick Launch and destroys the spell we activate to save resources.

*NOTE: This is a bit confusing when written out, but when you play you'll know it right away :v
You should also pay attention to the side effect of Rokket Tracer, which is to lock summon Extra decks only in the Dark system

Magnarokket Dragon (x3)

Magnarokket Dragon

Magnarokket Dragon, when targeted by a Link Monster, can destroy itself and send 1 enemy monster to the Graveyard (this is not a Target) and means this is a pretty strong removal effect.

The rest is mainly like other Rokket, a material to summon monsters from Extra but has the Effect of summoning more monsters at the end of the turn when destroyed, thereby combining with spells to gain a lot of benefits. position.

Metalrokket Dragon (x3)

Metalrokket Dragon has a similar effect to Magnarokket, but instead this card can destroy all cards in the column, from which we can deal with some cases where the opponent plays a lot of spell traps.

Perhaps we just need to talk about the most special effect of Silverrokket, the activation conditions as well as other Rokket, then we can "See through" the enemy's extra deck and banish 1 card in it.

This will be a nightmare for some Decks that rely heavily on a boss in Extra. We can ban Odd-eyes Raging to prevent them from activating Skills, or Mermaid to shut down orcust,... In case the opponent has more than 1 qtrong card in extra, try to find the most dangerous card and remove it.

Booster Dragon (x1)

When we have to go on turn 1, this card will be the best move for you. Its effect is quite normal so there's no need to repeat it, not many people ask to translate the article :v

The simple atk buff effect becomes useful when our Rokket monsters ( Except Tracer ) when targeted by Link Monster will activate the eff, from which we can use our own cards to target those Rokkets.

Spell/Trap

Quick Launch (x3)

Quick Launch

1 quick spell deserves 3 slots in our deck. As mentioned above, this card can combine very well with Rokket Tracer , we can use this card to summon Tracer from the Main Deck and start the combo. Or even if our combo chain is interrupted by an opponent's effect, we can keep this card to backup and continue the combo.

Handwriting is a bit difficult to imagine for those who don't know, but remember to turn on Toggle On so you can use Tracer destroy Quick Launch at the same time.

Boot Sector Launch (x1)

When the opponent is too annoyed with spells/traps or monster effects that sabotage us, we can still turn the table thanks to this Boot Sector card because the effect of buffing ATK and spamming monsters is simple and easy to understand.

One interesting thing is that if your hand is ncc and Rokket Tracer is the only card we can play, we can Summon Tracer -> Click Skill and use Tracer to destroy the Sector itself to be able to continue the combo.

Fusion cards to support summoning Borreload Furious Dragon

  • Rapid Trigger : We can only get these two cards in the game and the impressive thing is that it is Quick Fusion. In addition, fusion by destroying material will also trigger the Floated effect of Rokkets and summon other Rokkets from the Deck.

  • Dragon's Mirror : This is the Miracle Fusion of Dragon Fusion cards. Compared to Rapid Trigger, this card gives us the advantage of Fusion with materials in the grave, so we can simply Fusion after transferring Link or Synchro materials to the GY.

This is the Trap card that I want to specifically mention. Effect 1 line is simple but very effective when used with Rokket. The deck's characteristic is to spam a bunch of monsters with Floated Effect (effect after being destroyed), so this will be a card that helps us clear the enemy field while still maintaining the advantage.

Extra deck

Borreload Furious Dragon (x1-2)

Quick Effect and not one per turn is what makes this card really good. If we go Turn 1 and fuse with Rapid Trigger , then in the opponent's next turn we will have 2 pieces of meat and 2 destroy from Furious Dragon.

Its second effect is also quite easy to use to be able to return to the match when both players are late

This card is one of the skills to activate, so of course it is indispensable. There are conditions where summoning requires 3+ Monster Effects and even this is Link 4 so we don't usually summon it on turn 1 or even turn 2.

Although the summoning conditions are difficult, in return its effect is not bad at all. Untarget by monster effect, block set-card effects such as: Book of moon,... ( because it is a Link monster ), Quick eff target reduces damage ( we can activate this effect during the enemy's turn to be able to target their cards). We activate the effect of the child Rokket and make it difficult for opp ), or even Steal. Its Steal ability is not even a target, just attack and steal but remember to leave the box empty but also steal.

Because Tracer is the only Dark Tuner and the remaining Rokkets are all level 4 non-tuners, 4+4=8 ez Synchro.

Quick Spell/Trap negate is what this card does when you have 0 cards in your hand. Its conditions are not too difficult to fulfill as we can easily set spells/traps or use Boot Sector to summon extra Rokkets in hand.

Actually, these guys are similar to Void Ogre Dragon, 4+4 = 8 but I accidentally separated them :v

Each card has a different strength, helping to buff the deck's strength. If there is one, put it in or it's gone :v

Rokkets are usually level 4, so we can add these cards to supplement if available, otherwise it's fine.

Combo

Actually, Rokket combo is not too complicated, but when written down, it is very lengthy, and I know it is very frustrating for you to read.

So here I will list the names but not write them clearly (probably due to laziness :v), and I will try to update the combo videos for you so you can easily visualize them instead of writing them like this :v

Let's keep it short Hihi, this will be the minimum we can do:

  1. Summon Tracer and activate the eff

  2. Activate the skill (if you don't have Boot Sector), if you have it, then activate Boot Sector

  3. Use tracer to destroy Boot Sector and start combo (because this is the minimum, otherwise we can destroy other cards depending on the situation)

After doing the foreplay, this will usually be the board we end up with (Void Orge + Furious + some baby Rokkets + face down spell/trap)

  1. After having a pile of Rokkets on the field, we can Synchro and Link to Booster Dragon immediately using those Rokkets.

  2. Activate Dragon's Mirror to fuse Furious Dragon with the materials in the grave just to Synchro/Link

  3. If possible, at the end of the turn, activate the effect of the rokkets in the grave and bring other rokkets to the field (if possible, because if you accidentally use Dragon's Mirror to fly all the rokkets in the grave)
