Instructions for playing Buster Blader

Instructions for playing Buster Blader

If you are fed up with being defeated by extremely powerful dragons and are at the top of tournaments and Ranks such as: Blue - Eyes, Red - Eyes, Shooting Star Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend,... Then Using the Buster Blader line (also known as "Dragon Slayer") will definitely make you feel more confident when playing Rank and using these cards to bring dragons into submission. However, this line of articles still has many weaknesses. Therefore, this article was written so that you can better understand and create your own "Dragon Slayer" deck.

Destiny Draw (Skill Card)

Destiny Draw   is a skill that most players use when using the character Yami Yugi because of its decisiveness in a match. When applied linelessly   Buster Blader , you can use this Skill to carry important cards so you can end the match immediately or survive a few more turns.   However, the weakness of this Skill is that you have to reduce your Life Points to activate it.   Therefore, although it is decisive, it also brings you extremely high danger if the card you draw does not decide the outcome of the match.

It will not be surprising that some players combine the Blue - Eyes and Buster Blader lines together. The Chairman's skill will be most effective when you don't have the resources to bring out Dragon Destroyer Swordsman , you can take advantage of the Blue - Eyes deck's infinite card drawing ability thanks to Card of Consonance and Whelp. is a Tuner , to bring out Blue - Eyes and utilize them to be able to use your Extra Deck optimally. Overall, with the current meta, the combination of President Kaiba and Dragon Slayer is not a bad choice.

If you are a Red - Eyes enthusiast like me, then combining Red - Eyes and Buster Blader is a perfect combination and using Skill Light and Dark is an extremely suitable choice for you. This skill is very flexible as it allows you to play up to six Destruction Swordsman 's Buster Whelps , as you can trade your Black Metal Dragon and The Black Stone of Legend for a Whelp . The most optimal way to play this Skill would be 2-3x BMD, 1x Blackstone and 1 x Red -Eyes Black Dragon as you can keep recycling your Blackstone (Discard it for Destruction Swordsman Fusion or by using use it as a Fusion Material) and Red - Eyes (by sending it back to the deck with Blackstone 's GY effect) You will be able to use multiple Red - Eyes Fusions while having a lower chance to open Red - Eyes during your starting turn.

Master of Fusion (Skill Card)

Using this Skill is extremely suitable for a card line that relies on the main monster being a fusion monster like Buster Blader the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman . With the activation condition being only 1000 life points, you may not need to worry about not having a card that can fuse your monster. However, it will be very difficult without cards that use your Life Points to activate the Skill and in case you do not have materials in your hand to fuse, this Skill will lose its effect.

Core Cards

You can find Cores (Key Cards) mostly in the Crimson Kingdom, Power of Bravery boxes and in the Card Trader area .

This is one of the fusion materials for your deck as it allows you to summon Dark Paladin or Buster Blader, Dragon Destroyer Swordsman with another alternative fusion material. You can also Tribute Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman while it is on the field and special summon this card from your hand or from your graveyard. It's best not to summon this monster unless you're in a dire situation where you can lose because this card can't do anything except be attacked.

The ability to let you use one of your opponent's monsters as a fusion replacement is a game-changer, and with just one card you can change the properties of all of them. monsters on the field, making it possible to use this card's full potential at all times. However, be careful when attacking right after you summon as you can only use this fusion card once per turn.

This card is really good, along with being a one star Tuner it allows you to add Destruction Swordsman Fusion to your hand and allows you to sacrifice it to summon Buster Blader in your hand or in your graveyard. Additionally, if you have a Buster Blader of any type on the field and this card is in the grave, you can discard your Destruction Swordsman Fusion card to the grave and special summon it. The versatility of this card is great because you can have many different playstyles like summoning it to look for a fusion card and then sacrificing it for a Buster Blader and then using that fusion card with that Buster Blader and a substitute material to special summon Dark Paladin , the monster will also have that 500 attack buff from Whelp in the graveyard.

Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman

This card is the main card of this deck, when a monster with the Dragon race is on the field, its effects will be negated and moved to a defensive position, completely stopping combos and attacks. . Be careful when summoning this monster as you only have 2-3 cards in your Extra Deck and no inherent protection. You can use this monster on anything if you plan to continue the match and have another fusion card in hand so you can fuse this monster for another DDS if your opponent activates traps like Widespread Ruin or Offerings to the Doomed . However, this card cannot attack the player directly. It is a pity that there is a huge source of power from Dragon-type monsters from the opponent's grave but cannot cause direct damage. However, one advantage of this card is that it attacks through armor (i.e., causing damage to your opponent even when their monster is in defense position). You can take advantage of this when forcing their monsters to submit to you and ending the battle quickly

This card changes all monsters on the field to an attribute so that when selected Dragon and having Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman on the field, all of your opponent's monster effects will be negated and At the same time, he was transferred to the Defense position. However, you should avoid placing 2 DNA cards at once because doing so will crowd the field and you may accidentally switch to another attribute.

This is the latest support of the Buster Blader line when it was recently released. It can be said that it will help make the Buster Blader line much more diverse and powerful, really a lot. It provides a quick summon of Buster Blader to the field if you don't have a way to bring it out as a fusion material in your hand. Not only that, it also provides a fusion summon from the grave, a very wonderful and perfect provision. Well worth your investment.

Personally, I feel that Red-Eyes is the best line to run with Buster Blader because now you don't need to rely solely on DNA Surgery to win, you can block and neutralize with Red- Eyes Slash Dragon . And if you open Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman with Red-Eyes Fusion , you can send Buster Blader to the grave and equip it to your Slash . This allows you to summon BB when your Slash is destroyed and prepares it for DNA Combo. In addition, Black Metal Dragon will be very helpful to you if you draw it first because you can both take it to the grave to draw the Red-Eyes Fusion card into your hand, and use it as a fusion material for BBDDS. BMD can also help you equip Slash to protect it right on your summon if you want to bring Slash out first. Overall, Red-Eyes will make your gameplay more diverse when combined with Buster Blader .

You can operate Buster Blader with the Ritual Beast line because most of the monsters are Fusion-type. One good thing about the Ritual Beast line is that they can resist effects, from there, you can both protect your side of the field and use them and DNA to quickly bring BBDDS to the field.

When talking about the Neos series , we always think of Heroes with extremely fast summoning speed and strength that makes them almost invincible. Therefore, combining them with Buster Blader is also not a bad idea when they are also the line that uses the main monster, the Fusion system. That's why the flexibility and balance of Buster Blader will be increased.

It will not be surprising that president Seto Kaiba's card line is always suitable for all genres and is almost invincible against strong enemies. Blue-Eyes is a pretty good way to play Buster Blader as this line essentially addresses one of Buster Blader 's biggest weaknesses, which is the backrow, which with the addition of Keeper of the Shrine will allow you recycle your Dragon Spirit of White in some matches, and can also help you prevent some deadly situations. With 6 Tuners in your deck, you have plenty of fuel for your Vermillion Dragon Mech to bombard your opponent's backrows.

Recently appearing in early 2021, Gaia is a card line that is considered quite cost-effective and helps you climb to KoG very easily. Because of this and most of them are dragon-type, using a fusion material to replace Buster Blader and Gaia is completely reasonable because they can bring out key monsters from the array. I have used this mercenary engine in my Buster Blader set and to be honest, it works very well. By using a resource like the Earth attribute Buster Blader , you can fuse and bring Magellancia onto the field (you can use it to attack or defend, in general, either way is fine because its stats are quite high). ). Or you can use the Invocation card to replace Destruction Fusion and bring out BBDDS quickly. The only weakness of this line is that because of its great strength and easy combination with other lines, they are greatly limited, even banned. This will affect the use of Tech to protect your monsters because the stronger the Tech you use, the more limited they will be.

Tech Cards

Most longtime players of the Buster Blader series will always notice that the only weakness is the backrow. Despite the ability to overcome Dragon-race monsters, if they are not able to protect themselves, Dragon Slayers can only be destroyed to the grave or eliminated from the match . Therefore, to create the most stable Buster Blader deck for you, always prepare yourself a fairly tough tech set to be able to knock out your opponent's backrow set.

Necro Fusion (1-2 )

This card can be useful because you can combo summon Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and Red-Eyes Slash Dragon using resources from your grave instead of in your hand or field. However, it is not recommended to use Slash if you only run one Red-Eyes Black Dragon because every Red-Eyes Fusion you draw becomes dead, this card should only be used to fuse Slash if your Red-Eyes Fusion thrown to the grave to negate a certain card that has the effect of discarding cards in your hand.

A perfect combination for your Extra Deck. Stardust Dragon or Stardust Spark Dragon can prevent your opponent from using his backrow to destroy your BBDDS . However, their ability is to prevent destruction, not to prevent elimination, so you may have to prepare more Tech for this . Normally, using Stardust Dragon will be preferable to using Spark because Stardust can prevent yourself and the monsters of the field from being destroyed, while Spark can only prevent the destruction of one target. , meaning one is Spark is destroyed, two is your other monster is destroyed. But in general, both have very good abilities to prevent destruction and can be used as fusion materials for BBDDS .

Therefore, you should carefully consider using this leaf.

Currently, this card is limited to 3, but when used in the Buster Blader deck (a deck that does not have a single limited card), I encourage you to make the most of these 3 cards in your deck. Its advantage is that it subtracts your life points to completely eliminate the opponent's backrows. This is a combo attack when you combine it with the Destiny Draw skill because you can both prevent the opponent's backrows from being activated. , can both meet the conditions to activate the Skill for your next turn. However, it's best to use them during your opponent's turn (because this card is a quick-play spell so it can be set and activated during your opponent's turn), so you can easily activate the skill quickly on the turn. mine. Or there is another way for you to use this card, for example, if you accidentally set up to 2 DNA and your opponent does not set a backrow, you can use this card to destroy the excess DNA card and activate it at the same time. all my skills. However, using this method can greatly reduce your Life Points because the activation cost is 1000 Life Points. Dark Paladin is no longer as useful as it used to be because Ancient Gears are starting to fall out of Ranks and that is the only matchup where Dark Paladin is truly useful. If you want to use the Buster Blader line that runs mainly on Red-Eyes then Cipher Soldier can be a really good Tech because you have the DNA and can change everything to Warrior and let your Cipher become a player with 3350/3800. It also helps against the really tricky Six Samurai match, since they're all Warriors, and once you eliminate Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En with your Cipher, you're free to flip DNA Surgery and Destruction Swordsman Fusion . It could also help against Neos but now they run with the Koa'ki Meiru line which is risky to just place and forget.

You can both cause damage effects, protect your field, and recycle your Red-Eyes. So I recommend adding it.

Combos

The main combo of the Buster Blader line mainly depends on DNA Surgery . However, with the meta changing rapidly recently, creating many different combos is completely possible. With this article, you will have some ideas to create your own combo to use for the Buster Blader line.

BB to continue attacking the opponent. (Note: it's best to set Whelp after summoning Slash or setting Black Metal Dragon for easier fusion).

Matchups

Best matchups

Most of the best matchups of the Buster Blader line are Dragon race lines. Since they are easily overcome by BBDDS, I can say that with confidence. However, even though we are invincible against the Dragon, we should not be subjective because there is always a backrow to destroy us. We can take a look at some Dragon card lines that can easily be overcome by Buster Blader such as:
  • Blue-Eyes
  • Red-Eyes
  • Resonator
  • Synchron
  • Gaia
  • Dragunity
  • Hieratic
  • Chaos Levianeer
Bad matchups

The only weakness of Buster Blader is lines with extremely strong backrows, that's why I always recommend that you discard 1-2 cards that can remove the backrow and end the match quickly. We can take a look at some lines that are considered natural enemies of Buster Blader such as:
  • Shiranui Traps: this is the most annoying line of cards I've ever seen because of their versatility and huge array of traps that can sink your entire deck in one turn.
  • Harpie Lady: when encountering this line of cards, if you are very lucky, you will draw DNA into your hand and transform them. However, life is not inherently easy, Harpie Lady always has cards in her that can quickly remove backrows and from there, DNA will no longer be valuable and the opponent's main monster will activate. Activate your abilities and return our monsters to your hand, so it's best to use their main monsters as fusion materials. That will reduce their ability to come back.
  • Fortune Ladies: Fortune Ladies are a tough matchup because they have canadias/floodgates or counter-traps at their disposal, which can mess with your BBDDS. However, the good news is that you have read this guide and prepared yourself with quite a few Techs to remove backrows.
  • Water Xyz/ Fish: with a line that mainly uses Water The main problem is that they rotate their Extra Deck very quickly and that messes up your squad, not to mention, they always prepare a lot of Lance, not only to resist the effects of their monsters but also Reduce your monster's attack points and take advantage of Shark Drake's ability to attack a second time. The only thing you can do is wait for DNA to enter your hand and turn the tide of the battle.
  • Melodious: This is a line of cards that can counter almost every current meta line, and they can also counter an Anti-meta line like Buster Blader due to its overreliance on special summons. However, like any other matchup, what you can do is place your DNA and transform your opponent's monsters into Dragon-type monsters and start slaying them.
Mirror matchups

Normally, if you encounter Mirror matchups, you will encounter mostly players using Red-Eyes Buster Blader. Of course, this is not strange and you will be fine when dealing with them if you can remove their backrows 1 step faster than them and you can be sure of victory. However, in the end you will need a lot of luck to win or you can survive the next turn and use Destiny Draw to draw the card that ends the match.
