Instructions for playing Paleozoic

Instructions for playing Paleozoic

" Paleozoic " is an archetype of Normal Traps that have the ability to Special Summon themselves from the Graveyard as level 2 WATER monsters. You may be familiar with some of these cards: Paleozoic Canadia or Paleozoic Hallucigen ia quite well are popular in the current meta, but you may not have seen them played in a dedicated deck.

Paleozoic is a Deck control that focuses on disrupting your opponent's play while maintaining card advantage, slowly depleting their resources until they finally succumb to the onslaught. bounce of 2400 ATK of a " Paleozoic " monster with the Wetland field spell.

Surely everyone knows how bad bald guy's skills are. Burning 200 LP of your opponent every time you activate a trap and what the Paleozoic deck includes, everyone probably knows =)).

This skill is only used when playing with the version with Deep sea diva, mainly to summon XYZ to Dweller or Number 37.

Paleozoic Monsters

All Paleozoic trap cards have the same effect; While they are in the Graveyard and either player activates a Trap card, you can Special Summon a Paleozoic as a monster

While on the field as a monster, Paleozoic will be immune to the monster's effects, which is a great ability against the likes of Shiranui Spiritmaster. Their low base stats make them difficult to use at first, but once you gain power from Sogen, you'll have an endless army of 2400 ATK beaters.

Paleozoic Canadia (x3)
UR rarity
Paleozoic Canadia

Paleozoic Canadia

The famous Tech card from Duel Links is probably known to everyone, so there's no need to say much :D, it will simply destroy the opponent's group, not allowing them to make play. When summoned from the grave, it is like any other Paleozoic.

Paleozoic Pikaia (x3)
R rarity
Paleozoic Pikaia
R rarity
Paleozoic Pikaia

Pikaia is a pretty good Draw Engine, but in real combat to meet Pikaia's Cost, we should still discard Pikaia or Marrella because we don't want to lose cards that help us control well like Canadia or Hallucigenia.

Like Marrella, Pikaia's effect will be a good tool to fill the grave with Paleozoic cards that can be summoned later.

Paleozoic Hallucigenia (x0-x1)
UR rarity
Paleozoic Hallucigenia
UR rarity
Paleozoic Hallucigenia

Even halving your opponent's ATK is pretty useless when all your monsters have a base ATK of 1200. This effect is much more useful when Sogen is active, or if you have an Extra Deck monster on the field. However, in certain situations, this will greatly reduce your opponent's ability to deal damage, and you will have hope of living until the next turn.

Paleozoic Marrella (x2-x3)
N rarity
Paleozoic Marrella

Paleozoic Marrella

Use Marella to thin out your Deck and set up Paleozoics to the Graveyard so you can Special Summon in mid or late game.

Marella is probably the Paleozoic whose effect works best no matter when you activate it. This makes it a great trigger when you want to Special Summon a Paleozoic from the graveyard.

Paleozoic Olenoides (x3)
SR rarity
Paleozoic Olenoides

Destroying the enemy's backrow, although a bit slow, is still better than nothing, allowing us to play without worrying about the enemy's backrow and have better control.

Paleozoic Opabinia (x2)
SR rarity
Paleozoic Opabinia
SR rarity
Paleozoic Opabinia

Rank 2 Paleozoic monster XYZ has the ability to search and attack Paleozoics from hand. Combining this ability with Canadia or Olenoids will easily break the opponent's combos.

Additionally, like Paleozoic traps, while on the field Opabinia will not be affected by Monster effects.

Frog Monsters

Swap Frog (x3)

Swap Frog

Special Summon this card by discarding copies of itself or Atlantean Monster if you have it and activating its effect to send Ronintoadin from the deck to the grave. You can then activate Ronintoadin from the grave to special summon it.

After sending a frog from the deck to the grave, you can return the Swap Frog so you can send another card again. With Swap Frog and Ronintoadin on the field, you can XYZ rank 2 easily.

Ronintoadin (x1)
R rarity
Ronintoadin
R rarity
Ronintoadin

Ronintoadin's special summon effect is not limited to one per turn so it can return to the field, as long as you have Frog in your grave. So Swap Frog is an important card, both acting as a material to spam Ronintoadin and sending this card to the grave.

Deep sea diva & some other cards

Deep Sea Diva (x3)

Deep Sea Diva

This card can act as a Level 4 or 2 Tuner to synchro out monsters like Trishula or a crocodile with such a long name that I don't remember the name of, or you can bombard enemy turn opps with Abyss Dweller when detacting some lizards. .

I say that because this monster can jump a level 3 or lower Sea Serpent from the deck onto the field and it jumps itself, and this monster only needs 1 normal summon to be able to create a very powerful monster depending on your play style. Friend

Atlantean Heavy Infantry (x2)
SR rarity
Atlantean Heavy Infantry

When sent to the grave to activate the WATER monster effect, it will trigger the bombardment effect (even if detacted by Xyz monsters like Abyss Dweller).

Heavy Infantry (shield guy) is the one that can be played x2-3 because it shoots opp's face-up cards, but that's the reason most people see it, the other important reason is because it's level 4 and can normally summon 1 more Sea. Serpent from hand too, yes you can normal Deep Sea Diva

Spending 1 Slot for grand mole is not too bad when all of our main cards are not capable of confronting Untarget bosses. Returning enemy monsters by attacking will buy you more time so you can play later.

Use Armory Call to get Amulet of Ambition faster, thereby equipping any Paleozoic monster and turning them into flying 1-punch Beaters. Basically all Paleozoics are level 2 so their level gap with bosses will be very large and they will receive a huge amount of buffs.

Dewdark of the Ice Barrier and Wetlands (optional (but not recommended :D))

Wetlands

Wetlands has pretty good support for Paleozoics, turning them into 2400 atk monsters. It can also buff Dewdark too, so we can attack directly for 2400 LP.

What I don't recommend is because it's so slow :D and the enemy has enough power to hit you with a bunch of blocking effs. Another thing is that it consumes deck slots and is not very effective.

Extra deck

X2 ATK of your rank 4 or lower XYZ monster like Daigusto Phoenix (3000), Number 45 (4400) or even Hope Woven helps us overcome almost all bosses of current and OTK decks easily.

Just a short joke, but in case you can't get too much ATK buff from Amulet of Ambition, this card along with Cat Shark will help you a lot.

The ability to bring back a monster of 1500 ATK or less will help us bring back delicious Core cards for the next combo setup. We will not be affected by the Summoning restriction effect of this card because all the monsters in our deck are Water Attribute.

Delicious mercenaries for most decks, each card has its own effect that helps you with many things such as: return 1 card, destroy backrow,... and can also help you push paleozoics from your hand to the grave.

In addition, we can also draw 1 more card if they are co-linked

A few words to say

Honestly, this is a very slow deck and takes a lot of time to set up and play, so this is really not an ideal deck for the current meta. In addition, highly competitive decks can easily counter us with Cosmic cyclone and OTK us on turn 2.

But I will still encourage you to play because it's fun when you're tired of looking at the decks in Meta again and again :D. The day he brought this deck into the tournament, everyone called him chad, so I found it very interesting :)))
