Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Fusion Summon Mementomictlan Tecuhtlica - Creation King (3000 ATK, sends 3 Memento cards from Deck/Extra on Summon) and convert it into damage, with Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation (5000 ATK, attacks every monster once) as the finisher.; Grind with Mementomictlan recursion plus Cranium Burst / Predaplant Dragostapelia negation and Forbidden Droplet, then close with Mementotlan Twin Dragon or Horned Dragon swings.
- Turn 1 (going first): Normal Summon Angwitch or Dark Blade (or resolve Bone Party on a Memento in hand) to assemble three Memento names into Creation King, set Mementotlan Cranium Burst, and keep a Memento body plus Mementomictlan for follow-up recursion.
- Turn 2 (going second): Force interaction with Forbidden Droplet and Book of Eclipse (Mulcharmy Fuwalos as a draw engine), then Fusion Summon with Mementotlan Fusion using hand/field material - or GY material once a Memento was destroyed by card effect - into Creation King; Akihiron + Creation King converts into direct attacks for lethal.
- Recovery: Mementomictlan Special Summons from hand/GY when a monster is destroyed, Ghattic and Akihiron add Memento cards back, Creation King banishes itself from the GY to fetch Mementomictlan, and Mementotlan Fusion re-fuses from GY names.
- After siding: No Side Deck is registered (0 cards) and Duel Links is largely best-of-1, so adaptation is limited to Extra Deck slot choices; the list is otherwise fixed.
Why it scores here
This Memento list is scored as a connected system, not as an average of card scores. In a 30-card Duel Links deck it opens a Memento body almost every game (P(>=1 archetype card in 5) ~ 0.998, and roughly 0.89 for one of the ten true starter / self-Special-Summon cards), and Bone Party, Angwitch, Dark Blade and Tatsunootoshigo all funnel into the same payoff: Mementomictlan Tecuhtlica - Creation King backed by Combined Creation and Cranium Burst. What keeps the score near 60 rather than higher is conversion under pressure - the engine spends the Normal Summon and destroys its own monsters, so a single negation on Angwitch/Dark Blade or removal of the Bone Party target can end the turn, and there are zero recorded combo boards to confirm the median output. The deck does carry a real closing package (Combined Creation at 5000 ATK attacking every monster once, Akihiron granting Level 9+ Memento monsters direct attacks) and a genuine going-second package of 3 Forbidden Droplet, 2 Book of Eclipse and 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos, so it is not a single-plan deck. No popularity, usage share or archetype representation earned any points here, and no card-level scores were averaged; the empty combo evidence and the absent dated metagame sample are why confidence is Medium and the band is wide.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 72 | 20 exact-archetype Memento copies give P(>=1 in a 5-card hand) ~ 0.998 and the 10 true starter / self-Summon cards give ~ 0.89, but most openers are still two-card lines (Inferred). |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 62 | 9 one-of main-deck cards plus 8 non-engine slots keep the deck compact; a no-starter hand sits near 0.20 while Tecuhtlica (needs 5 Memento names) and Horned Dragon (3 names in GY) are conditional garnets (Inferred). |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 70 | No parseable boards exist (0 combos), so the ceiling is text-only: Creation King 3000 ATK that sends 3 Memento cards from Deck/Extra, plus Cranium Burst and Twin Dragon (Inferred). |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 58 | Median output is unmeasurable because combos_evidence is empty; the visible floor is a single Memento body when the Normal Summon is negated (Inferred). |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 52 | The engine turns on the Normal Summon (Angwitch/Dark Blade) or on Bone Party with a Memento already in hand, and 0 IsHandTrap flags mean disruption must be answered on the following turn (Inferred). |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 68 | Mementomictlan revives on destruction, Ghattic and Akihiron add cards back, and Creation King banishes itself from the GY to fetch the field spell and be re-fused with GY material (Inferred). |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 58 | Only one Cranium Burst, one Dragostapelia and 3 Forbidden Droplet carry negate text; there are 0 floodgate flags and no hand traps, so the end board is mostly one layered body (Inferred). |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 62 | 3 Forbidden Droplet (P 0.50 in a 6-card hand), 2 Book of Eclipse and 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos are real going-second tools, and Mementotlan Fusion can fuse from the GY after a Memento is destroyed by effect (Inferred). |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 70 | Combined Creation is 5000 ATK and can attack every opposing monster once, Akihiron gives Level 9+ Memento monsters (Creation King is Level 9) direct attacks, and Twin Dragon is 2800 with banish-on-battle (Verified stats, Inferred line). |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 62 | The list sits exactly at the 30-card Duel Links cap with 17 distinct main cards; the 9 singles double as differently-named Memento GY names rather than pure filler (Inferred). |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 62 | All 9 Extra slots are used but only Creation King x2 is core; Nightingale (needs two Level-1s) and I:P Masquerena rarely advance the Memento line (Inferred). |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 30 | The Side Deck is empty (0 cards) and Duel Links is largely best-of-1, so there is no post-side plan and no post-side performance data at all (Provisional). |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 50 | No tournament link and no dated metagame sample were supplied, so archetype share and matchup fit cannot be measured and stay neutral-provisional (Provisional). |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 58 | Destroy-for-search sequencing and Fusion material choice create several decision points per turn, but no combo documentation exists to quantify error tolerance (Inferred). |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: Combo. Structural ≈ 62, Going First ≈ 62, Going Second ≈ 63, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 58. Modifiers: Non-engine going-second package (2); Hard-garnet burden (-2); Single payoff dependency (-1). Final formula: 0.80*Structural + 0.20*TournamentReliability (Meta provisional) + modifiers
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 0.92 · key two-card combo ≈ 0.68 · full-brick estimate ≈ 0.05 (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- Highly redundant engine in a 30-card format: P(>=1 Memento-family card in the opening 5) ~ 0.998 and four different 3-of enablers (Bone Party, Mementotlan Fusion, Tatsunootoshigo, plus Angwitch/Dark Blade as Normal Summons).
- Clear, shared payoff: Creation King is reachable from several different openers instead of one narrow two-card line.
- Real closing power for Duel Links - Combined Creation at 5000 ATK multi-attacks, and Akihiron turns Creation King's Level 9 body into direct attacks.
- Genuine recursion loop: Mementomictlan revives on destruction, Ghattic/Akihiron add back from GY, Creation King banishes itself to fetch the field spell.
- Eight non-engine cards (3 Droplet, 3 Fuwalos, 2 Book of Eclipse) give the deck interaction it could not generate in-engine.
Weaknesses
- Zero hand traps flagged: the deck cannot stop an opponent's turn-1 setup and must answer boards on its own turn.
- Engine destroys its own monsters and depends on the Normal Summon (Angwitch/Dark Blade) or on having a Memento in hand for Bone Party - a single well-placed negation is often turn-ending.
- Only one Mementotlan Cranium Burst, so the in-engine disruption package is thin and unrepeatable.
- Nine one-of main-deck cards reduce access to specific names needed for Combined Creation's five-name shuffle and Horned Dragon's three-name condition.
- No recorded combo boards at all, so ceiling/median/floor rest on card-text inference rather than measured output.
- Extra Deck includes low-synergy slots (Assembled Nightingale needs two Level-1s; I:P Masquerena has no strong Link target) that dilute the coverage.
Critical choke points
- The Normal Summon on Angwitch or Dark Blade being negated or removed leaves only Tatsunootoshigo / Bone Party as extension, and both still need a Memento already in hand.
- Bone Party requires an existing Memento in hand or on field to destroy; drawing it alongside only non-engine cards makes it dead.
- Creation King is the entire payoff - denying the three-material Fusion (or removing it before it converts) collapses the turn with no comparable backup board.
- Mementomictlan at one copy means the recursion engine is often unavailable when it matters most.
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Book of Eclipse (1 copy) | Mementotlan Fracture Dance (1 copy) | Fracture Dance appears in 57.5% of Memento lists and adds in-archetype interaction that the deck currently only has one copy of (Cranium Burst); trimming the second Eclipse keeps one board-breaker while raising the disruption count. |
| 2 | Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale | Underworld Goddess of the Closed World | Nightingale needs two Level-1 monsters and does not advance the Memento plan; Underworld Goddess (80% inclusion in the archetype's lists) is a real out to an otherwise unanswerable boss. |
| 3 | Book of Eclipse (remaining copy) or Mementotlan Mace | Mementotlan Angwitch (3rd copy) | Angwitch is the cleanest one-card starter in the archetype; at two copies the deck's best opening line is under-represented relative to the three-of spells it already runs. |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legality: 30 Main / 9 Extra / 0 Side, within Duel Links caps; no violations.; Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale is Limited to 1 and the deck runs exactly 1 copy.; Card text for every Memento card, Forbidden Droplet, Book of Eclipse, Mulcharmy Fuwalos and the Extra Deck monsters.; Usage-stat inclusion percentages: Twin Dragon 100%, Akihiron/Mementomictlan 100%, Horned Dragon 97.5%, Goblin 95%, Mace 92.5%, Fracture Dance 57.5%, Underworld Goddess 80%.
- Observed: combos_evidence reports 0 total and 0 scored boards ('no parseable boards').; Precomputed hypergeometric table: 3 copies = 0.4335 (hand 5) / 0.5015 (hand 6); 2 copies = 0.3103 / 0.3655; 1 copy = 0.1667 / 0.2.; Archetype core group of 20 copies yields P(>=1 in hand 5) = 0.9982.; usage_statistics core-present flag reports 12/21 core cards, but its per-card in_this_deck flags contradict the resolved list (Twin Dragon, Creation King, Guardian Chimera, I:P, S:P, Nightingale and Phoenix are all listed as absent while they are in the Extra Deck).
- Inferred: Functional starter set of ~10 cards gives P(>=1 in opening 5) ~ 0.89; no-functional-starter rate ~0.20.; Combo ceiling around Creation King plus Cranium Burst, floor around one Memento body, both derived from card text only.; Interruption resilience is limited because the engine converts hand cards into self-destruction and has one dominant Normal Summon.; Going-second viability rests on the 8-card non-engine package and on Mementotlan Fusion's GY-material clause.; Recursion loop strength from Mementomictlan, Ghattic, Akihiron and Creation King's banish-to-search.
- Provisional: Meta Power is null - no dated metagame sample was supplied.; Matchup coverage and format fit (D13) are provisional; tournament_context is unavailable.; Side Deck adaptability (D12) is provisional and largely moot in a best-of-1 Duel Links context.
- Data gaps: No combos supplied - combo floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference. No tournament link - archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record absent. No win-rate telemetry exists in YGOVN (going-first/second, matchup, game-level, brick/starter/OTK rates) - those signals are Inferred or Unknown. Meta Power is provisional unless a dated metagame sample is supplied. usage_statistics per-card in_this_deck flags conflict with the resolved Extra Deck (seven cards marked absent are actually present), so the 'core_present_pct 57.1' figure was not used as a score input. The single attached guide (id 1484) returned an empty snippet with zero sections, so no human strategic intent could be extracted.
