How to play Baseball Utopia (Baseball Rush)

Hello everyone, another post introducing the Rush Duel Links deck.

Today, we will look at the brand new deck of the character Yuka, the Baseball deck. These are Gogogo dododo,... and Yuma's Utopia in the Zexal arc =)) but in rush duel they turn into baseball players and are all Fire-type.

[REQUIREMENT] Can be activated by revealing 1 monster with 2000 DEF or 1 "Feverous Spirit Stadium" in your hand from turn 2 onward, if all of the monsters in your constructed Deck are FIRE Attribute Warrior Type monsters and/or FIRE Attribute Dragon Type monsters. [EFFECT] Add up to 2 cards (Normal Monsters and/or "Player #39: Home Run Hitter" and/or "Feverous Spirit Stadium") from your Deck to your hand, and send up to 2 cards from your hand to the Graveyard. If you sent 2 cards to the Graveyard, this turn, your Level 4 Normal Monsters inflict piercing battle damage.

This ability can be activated by revealing a 2000 DEF monster or a Feather Spirit Stadium card in your hand from turn 2 onwards, if all the monsters in your deck are FIRE monsters of the Warrior and/or Dragon type. There is a slight restriction here, we can only use FIRE monsters, and they must be Warrior or Dragon. We want monsters with 2000 DEF and our Field Spell card. We can add up to two normal monsters and/or Player 39: Home Run Hitter , our main boss monster, and/or Feather Spirit Stadium from our deck to our hand. Then If you sent 2 cards to the Graveyard to activate this ability, your 4-star normal monsters also gain the ability to deal piercing battle damage – putting extra pressure on your opponent.

The cards

So what exactly is the core of the deck? Let's look at the deck's combo pieces - the cards that

[REQUIREMENT] Shuffle 3 FIRE Attribute monsters from your Graveyard into the Deck. [EFFECT] Special Summon 1 "Player #39: Home Run Hitter" from your Graveyard face-up to your field, then this card gains 2000 ATK until the end of this turn.

In short: "Grand Slam Dragon is the real "table-clearer" in the deck.
It can special summon Player #39: Home Run Hitter from the Graveyard , and if it does, it will gain 2000 ATK ! That means Grand Slam Dragon can reach 5000 ATK – more than enough to end the game instantly."

We can revive Home Run Hitter with 2900 ATK, and then we have one more slot to summon another monster. This means we can reveal this card in our hand to activate the ability, immediately taking, for example, Home Run Hitter and Feather Spirit Stadium , so we don't need any other combo cards. We can then immediately send Home Run Hitter to the graveyard, then depending on how many FIRE monsters are in the graveyard, we can choose to send another FIRE monster from our hand to the graveyard. We then Tribute to Summon Grand Slam , activate Feather Spirit Stadium , activate Grand Slam to revive Home Run , and ideally Normal Summon another monster. In short, we'll have a 4400 ATK Grand Slam , a 2900 ATK Home Run Hitter , and a 1900 ATK Zuba Babata or maybe Fire Dragon or whatever other card we have, with the potential to have penetration.

Home Run Hitter is an extremely powerful carry monster with devastating effects!
By sending 2 face-up Level 4 FIRE monsters from your field to the Graveyard (GY), it will gain 2500 ATK , easily crushing almost anything your opponent throws at you!

Gogogo Umpire is also an important card, providing great support by special summoning a 4-star FIRE monster with 400 DEF from the Graveyard , helping you reuse necessary combo pieces and maintain a stable body on the field.

Here is another combo direction we can use is Secret Order , and we play x1 Volcano Attack Dragon .

Volcano Attack Dragon is actually not bad in this deck since it is a 2000 DEF monster and a normal monster. And thanks to our ability, we can reveal this card as a 2000 DEF monster to activate the ability. Since the search part of the ability does not specify a level, we can add up to two normal monsters and/or Home Run Hitter and/or Feather Spirit Stadium , which means we can easily add this card to our hand with the ability. This means we have unlimited access to this card. We can also easily send it to the graveyard, which means our three copies of Secret Order are almost always ready since they are basically activated if we have Volcano in our hand, if we have Home Run Hitter in our hand, if we have Grand Slam in our hand, or if we have one of our Field Spell cards. There are a lot of cards that trigger Secret Order , which makes it almost a punch to the enemy.

1 level 4 Fire Dragon card is reasonable when used with Skill but the stats are quite low. We mainly use this card to increase the stability and draw for the deck. However, when we have <10 cards left in the deck, the effect of this card is useless.

As mentioned above, this card is quite ok with the deck, because sometimes if we can Grand Slam summon Home Run Hitter and then Volcano Attack Dragon , it will be a really strong matchup. Assuming all of the opponent's monsters are in attack position, we will deal a lot of damage.

[REQUIREMENT] Send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. [EFFECT] Destroy 1 monster on the field.

Although we can penetrate through skills, I find it very rare to get enough damage. Many people are playing monsters with quite high DEF in the current meta, so sometimes we only do a little bit of damage. For example, Spellcasters , they play a lot of 1400 DEF monsters, so we don't do too much damage. So we play Tribute to the Doomed as a way to remove one of the monsters in the defense position and allow us to deal damage, but we can also use this card to remove the opponent's high ATK boss,

This card will also theoretically help us deal extra damage.

The new Field Spell will increase the ATK of all your FIRE monsters by 400 , bringing them closer to finishing off your opponent in one turn (OTK) . This small ATK boost is often the deciding factor when you want to end the game.

[REQUIREMENT] When a player Normal or Special Summons a monster, or after your opponent activates a Spell Card. [EFFECT] Return 1 monster from the field to the owner's hand.

This card was included for the same reason as Tribute to the Doomed , just to remove those annoying defense position monsters, but it's also just a really good Trap card, right?
If you play against Heroes and they summon one of their Fusion monsters, we want to remove it. If you play against High Tech Dragons and they summon one of their Fusion monsters, we also want to remove it. If you play against Galaxy and they summon Extra Plura , we want to remove it.
Compulsory Evacuation Device is still the best Trap card in the game. Just because it's limited to one, some people value other limited 1 cards more, so we could play Pot of Greed instead of Tribute to the Doomed . But I really value the ability to remove monsters in defense position, and this deck adds one to the ability, so the discard cost of Tribute to the Doomed really doesn't matter that much. Also, we tend to save resources with Dodoo Do Second and Umpire , which means that getting the boss out of the field isn't usually that bad. We can also save resources with something like Secret Order .

One thing you have to be careful of, is if you go behind and want to do a combo right away, you get to use the summon "cheat".

For example, we have DodoDo Second , if we have Fever Spirit Stadium on the field, paying 500 Life Points, this card can be treated as two Tribute Materials this turn. We don't want to use this effect on turn one because we won't have enough FIRE monsters in the graveyard to use Grand Slam . The same goes for Umpire . Umpire allows us to shuffle a Feather Spirit Stadium from the graveyard back into the deck to special summon a monster back, essentially a plus three, but again, we don't want to do this because we need to have a certain number of cards in the graveyard. So ideally, if we go later, we reveal Grand Slam Dragon , take out Home Run and Feather Spirit Stadium . If we already have some of these cards, we can just take a few normal monsters, it doesn't really matter. We want to make sure we send Home Run Hitter and any other FIRE monsters to the graveyard, as we need to have enough cards in the graveyard.

Then we need to Normal Summon two monsters and Tribute them. So we don't want to use Dodo 's effect, nor do we want to use GoGo 's effect , we need to send two more monsters to the graveyard, Tribute them to summon Grand Slam . Now we have Fe Spirit Stadium , three FIRE monsters in the graveyard, and Home Run Hitter . So we can immediately use Grand Slam Dragon 's effect , return those three monsters to the deck, Summon Home Run Hitter , and ideally have another monster in our hand that we can put on the field. That's completely achievable on turn two. So we'll immediately have a 1900 ATK piercing monster, a 4400 ATK monster, and a 2900 ATK monster, which should be enough to disrupt our opponent's formation and ideally do a good amount of damage.

We won't be able to do much damage if the opponent sets three defense monsters. So in some situations, instead of doing that, you might want to summon a bunch of ZubaBa bata or a bunch of Fire Dragons , so they have penetration from the skill, and then just attack through the three monsters in defense position.

This is also quite effective. The only problem with making such a move is that you leave yourself vulnerable to counterattacks. Spellcaster decks can, for example, move your Fire Dragon or ZubaBa bata to defense position and punch through it. They can also easily summon Sevens Red Magician or Sevens Paladin , gain ATK, and attack through your relatively low ATK monsters. Don't forget that we lose ATK gain during our opponent's turn, so we won't be at 1900 ATK during their turn, which is a bit disappointing.

Decks like Light Galaxy can just fill the field with big monsters and can OTK you out of nowhere. So this is a bit risky. Personally, I prefer the Grand Slam play on Home Run Hitter because it puts more ATK points on the field, but even that doesn't protect you from everything.

                                          Conclusion

In my opinion this deck isn't that good. Despite having a long winning streak, I think I could hit an eight or nine win streak with this deck, but a lot of those games felt like just stealing the win. It was like my opponent didn't set three monsters and they didn't have a good Trap card to stop it.

This deck is very good at building up the game. It's good at putting a lot of ATK on the board, and it's okay at doing a little bit of piercing damage, but it's nothing spectacular. The best comparison I can make for this deck is that it reminds me a lot of Pyro . Even to the point where we're not really good at facing monsters in defensive position, so we play Compulse and Tribute , two things Pyro also did for a while. Pyro also played Secret Order for a while before they moved on to their new ability. So again, this deck feels a lot like Pyro , except Pyro 's ability is, in my opinion, better. Pyro 's ability basically gives a free plus two every turn instead of a plus one, which is really, really good. Pyro also has Chemicalized Salamander to reduce the ATK of the opponent's entire board, so I would say Pyro is better at building up the board more consistently, it's better at sustaining the game long term and has access to more cards, and it's better at dealing damage if the opponent has three monsters in attack position, because we can use Chemicalized Salamander to reduce all of them. This deck is better at putting a really big monster on the field, putting a 4400 ATK monster on the field is really, really cool. And we have the ability to penetrate, we can make our normal monsters penetrate, and in some matchups, that's going to be really, really important. So I would say this deck is very Pyro- like. If you like Pyro , you'll probably get along with this deck. This deck feels weaker than Pyro in many ways, but again, it's worse in some ways but a little better in others, so it might even out in the end.

And in the current meta, I don't think this deck is going to be a top contender. I don't think it's going to be a top deck, but it can hold its own against some of the stronger decks. Again, it's going to be very dependent on what your opponent draws and what you draw, and whether or not you can pull off your full combo. One thing we can say about this deck is that it's pretty consistent, because to use an ability, all we have to do is find one of the one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight cards, and then our ability is activated, and we're good to go. But it feels a little bit like Sevens in that aspect. Overall, I think this deck is okay. It's nothing too crazy, but it's fun.
