Instructions for building and playing Phantom Beast Branded (DUNE 2023)
Sections covered in this guide:
Core Phantom Beast
Mirror Swordknight and Cornfield Coatl (x3)
Mirror Swordknight
ATK:
1900
DEF:
300
If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle. You can only use each of the following effects of "Mirror Swordknight" once per turn. (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck that mentions "Chimera Fusion", except "Mirror Swordknight". When a monster your opponent controls activates its effect, while you control "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your field or GY; negate that effect.
Cornfield Coatl
ATK:
500
DEF:
1700
If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle. You can only use each of the following effects of "Cornfield Coatl" once per turn. You can discard this card; add 1 monster that mentions "Chimera Fusion" from your Deck to your hand, except "Cornfield Coatl". When your opponent activates a card or effect that targets a card(s) you control, while you control "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your field or GY; negate that effect, and if you do, destroy that card.
- The new type of monster has a pretty good defensive effect that prevents both monsters attacking each other from being destroyed => Good defense
- Swordsman and Koater are the two main searchers of the Deck => bring Fusion materials to the field or hand => from there search for Fusion Spells => Bring the boss to the field
- Main negate (not handtrap) => Koater will be more useful due to its wider negate range
Big-Winged Berfomet and Gazelle the King of Mythical Claws (x2)
Big-Winged Berfomet
ATK:
1400
DEF:
1800
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Level 4 Beast monster and/or 1 "Chimera Fusion" from your Deck to your hand, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Fusion Monsters. If this card is sent to the GY as material for a Fusion Summon: You can target 1 Illusion monster in your GY; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Big-Winged Berfomet" once per turn.
Gazelle the King of Mythical Claws
ATK:
1500
DEF:
1200
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Level 5 Fiend monster or 1 "Chimera Fusion" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent to the GY as material for a Fusion Summon: You can add 1 Illusion monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Gazelle the King of Mythical Claws" once per turn.
- Both have similar effects => search exactly the same
- Can be searched so consider the level to put in the Deck
- Search for the main Fusion Spell of the line
- Get 1 Illusionist on the field or hand => Berfomet will be ss under GY, and Gazelle search from Deck to hand
Chimera Fusion (x1-2)
Chimera Fusion
During the Main Phase: Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as material, including a Beast or Fiend monster. During your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY and you have "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" on your field or in your GY: You can activate 1 of these effects; ● Add this card to your hand. ● Banish this card, and if you do, Special Summon both 1 "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" and 1 "Berfomet" from your Deck and/or GY. You can only use this effect of "Chimera Fusion" once per turn.
- Quick-Play Spell => means using it multiple times in opp's turn. Note that it can only be used in Main Phase !
- Can use monsters in hand to Fusion => Solve the problem of dealing with excess resources in hand
- Recycle continuously if Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast is on the field
- Puts both fusion materials on the field at the cost of removing it => Useful if you play a build with 2 copies of this Fusion card
Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts and Chimera the Illusion Beast (x1)
Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts
ATK:
2100
DEF:
1800
1 Beast monster + 1 Fiend monster This card's name becomes "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" while on the field or in the GY. You can only use each of the following effects of "Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts" once per turn. If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can activate this effect; send 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the GY during the End Phase of this turn. During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Beast, Fiend, or Illusion monster in your GY; Special Summon it.
Chimera the Illusion Beast
ATK:
3100
DEF:
2800
"Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" + 1+ Illusion monsters This card's name becomes "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" while on the field or in the GY. This card can attack monsters a number of times each Battle Phase, up to the number of materials used for it. If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card battled an opponent's monster: You can change that opponent's monster's ATK to 0, also negate its effects.
- Both are named Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast and are Phantom Beast monsters when on the field => Useful when using the GY effs of the archetype
- Chimera Illusion is the Deck's main Beater : cannot be destroyed and causes opp's monsters to do the same => attacks 2 times and causes opp's monsters' ATK to 0 ( no target ) and negates their eff after the 2nd attack => very good for dealing with opp's annoying bosses
- Chimera Phantom Beast King is an extender of the Deck. In addition, when you get Fusion, at the end of the turn send 1 random card from opp's hand to GY. Although it will help opp increase their GY eff, on the positive side, it will cause opp to lose the advantage of cards in hand... => seems not very useful compared to Illusion...
Core Branded
Fallen of Albaz (x3)
Fallen of Albaz
ATK:
1800
DEF:
0
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step): You can discard 1 card; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters on either field as Fusion Material, including this card, but you cannot use other monsters you control as Fusion Material. You can only use this effect of "Fallen of Albaz" once per turn.
Aluber the Jester of Despia (x2)
Aluber the Jester of Despia
ATK:
1800
DEF:
0
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. If a face-up Fusion Monster you control is destroyed by battle, or leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect, while this card is in your GY: You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; Special Summon this card, and if you do, negate the targeted monster's effects until the end of this turn. You can only use 1 "Aluber the Jester of Despia" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
- Searcher when summoned => add any Branded spell/trap
- 1 negate opp monster and is a good recycled material => Suitable to use for the next Fusion, unfortunately it belongs to the Fairy race, otherwise combining with Chimera would be delicious...
Springans Kitt (x2)
Springans Kitt

- Beast tribe => Can be used as a material for Chimera Phantom Beast King
Blazing Cartesia the Virtuous (x1)

You can only use each effect of "Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous" once per turn.
- Extender is good if Albaz is on the field
- Fusion does not require spells but also Quick Eff => quickly brings your boss to the field but the main goal is to use it for Granguignol
- Can be continuously recycled if there is 1 Fusion down to GY

Lubellion the Searing Dragon
ATK:
2500
DEF:
3000
1 DARK monster + "Fallen of Albaz" If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can discard 1 card; Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, except "Lubellion the Searing Dragon", by shuffling Fusion Materials mentioned on it into the Deck, from your monsters on the field, GY, and/or face-up banished cards. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can add to your hand, or Special Summon, 1 "Fallen of Albaz" or "Dogmatika" monster from your Deck. 2500
DEF:
2500
1 "Fallen of Albaz" + 1+ Dragon monsters Cannot be used as Fusion Material. Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by sending the above cards from any Monster Zones to the GY. This card can attack monsters a number of times each Battle Phase, up to the number of materials used for it. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can add 1 "Polymerization" Normal Spell or "Fusion" Normal Spell from your Deck to your hand.
- Rindbrumm : suitable for Chimera, a line full of Beast monsters, main negate and also a secondary Extender if below GY => summon Albaz to the field or itself but banish the remaining cards... => easy to lose resources, need careful
- Lubellion : Material suitable for more than half of the Deck, is Extender Fusion but the limitation is that it cannot attack => use Fusion itself :v
- Mirrorjade : Materials are too easy to find right on the opp field, main boss of the Deck, main banish, destroy the secondary field if it leaves the field...
- Titaniklad : Big beater, not affected by effs on the turn it is summoned, extender brings Albaz to the field at the end of the turn => main target of Mirrorjade
- Albion : Extender Fusion like Lubellion but consumes more resources, searches for Branded spells/traps
- Alba-Lenatus : Not really a beater but if you like, just use it :v meh, but can search for Poly or a certain Fusion Spell => bonus searcher...
