Instructions for playing Salamangreat
overview
Salamangreat is the prototype line of FIRE Cyberse monsters used by Theodore Hamilton (English version) or Soulburner in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS . Salmangreat monsters have various effects related to combat and reviving from GY. A common theme with these monsters is that they perform best when Recarnation Summoned ( which is a Link summon with another monster of the same name).
Introduced for the first time in the Soul Fusion set, Salamangreat has not yet proven much of its abilities (most of Salamangreat 's main monsters are mercenaries and the monster array does not really work well). It wasn't until Structure Deck: Soulburner was released that Salamangreat proved its extremely powerful control ability (Soulmaker, 2020).

Salamangreat monsters
Salamangreat Foxy (2-3x)
Salamangreat Foxy
ATK:
1000
DEF:
1200
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, and if you do, you can add 1 excavated "Salamangreat" card to your hand, also shuffle the rest into the Deck. If this card is in your GY, and a face-up Spell/Trap is on the field: You can discard 1 "Salamangreat" card; Special Summon this card, then you can destroy 1 face-up Spell/Trap on the field. You can only use 1 "Salamangreat Foxy" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
Searcher was introduced first in the deck. Its first effect is not too impressive, allowing you to look at the first 3 cards of the deck, and then add 1 Salamangreat card from it to your hand, and the remaining cards are shuffled again. Usually we will use the second effect more: while it is in the grave, you can send 1 Salamangreat from your hand to the grave to bring Foxy back to the field, and if necessary, destroy a flipped Spell/Trap card. face up. Mainly to float the field, but if you are locked by Imperial Order or Summon Limit then you can call it up to break in the surprise of your opponent. But the danger of having a lot of Foxy on hand is not small, so the best number to play is 2 copies. Note that you can only use 1 effect and each effect can only be used once per turn.
Salamangreat Jack Jaguar (1-2x)
Salamangreat Jack Jaguar
ATK:
1800
DEF:
1200
If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. If you control a "Salamangreat" Link Monster, while this card is in your GY: You can target 1 "Salamangreat" monster in your GY, except "Salamangreat Jack Jaguar"; shuffle that target into the Deck, and if you do, Special Summon this card to your zone your "Salamangreat" Link Monster points to. You can only use this effect of "Salamangreat Jack Jaguar" once per turn.
Usually called out by Miragestalio (OCG side) but TCG is a bit more difficult. Going back to Jack Jaguar 's effect, usually we will only use its second effect. When 1 Salamangreat Link is on the field and this card is in the grave, you can return 1 Salamangreat from the grave to call Jack Jaguar himself to the field in the space that Link monster pointed to. A great floater, not only that but also a recycler for the deck. But like Foxy , holding a lot of Jack Jaguars is also a disaster, so the amount of play I think is limited to 1 or 2 copies.
Salamangreat Spinny (2-3x)
Salamangreat Spinny
ATK:
1000
DEF:
1500
If you control a "Salamangreat" card: You can discard this card, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; it gains 500 ATK until the end of this turn. If you control a "Salamangreat" monster other than "Salamangreat Spinny" and this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Spinny" once per turn.
Salamangreat Gazelle (1x)
Salamangreat Gazelle
ATK:
1500
DEF:
1000
If a "Salamangreat" monster is sent to your GY, except "Salamangreat Gazelle" (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Salamangreat" card from your Deck to the GY, except "Salamangreat Gazelle". You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Gazelle" once per turn.
It is the key card (important card) of the deck, the support card that connects everything in the deck. When a Salamangreat is sent to the Graveyard (from the hand or field, usually), Gazelle can immediately jump to the field, then send a Salamangreat from the Deck to the Graveyard. It can be any Salamangreat monster that can recycle/self-activate effects from the grave, or it can be some Magic/Trap card that Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf can take into his hand (like a Searcher). So). It can be said that thanks to Gazelle , Salamangreat was able to maintain stability to reach the top of the meta for such a (quite long) time.
But why do most decks only use 1 copy of it? The answer lies in the power it brings, so it has been limited to 1 :v
Salamangreat Falco (1x)
Salamangreat Falco
ATK:
1200
DEF:
1600
If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 "Salamangreat" Spell/Trap in your GY; Set that target to your field. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 "Salamangreat" monster you control, except "Salamangreat Falco"; return that monster to the hand, and if you do, Special Summon this card. You can only use 1 "Salamangreat Falco" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
Salamangreat Fowl (0-1x)
Salamangreat Fowl
ATK:
1800
DEF:
200
If a "Salamangreat" monster(s), except "Salamangreat Fowl" is Normal or Special Summoned to your field (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Salamangreat Fowl" once per turn. You can send 1 "Salamangreat" card from your hand or face-up field to the GY, then target 1 Set Spell/Trap your opponent controls; that Set card cannot be activated this turn.
Fowl 's first effect is used quite a bit due to its usefulness. When a Salamangreat is summoned, this card is called to the field from the hand. Although the effect is interesting at first, Salamangreat actually doesn't need too many Fowls (because Fowls don't play many big roles, plus Salamangreat needs many other Searchers/Floaters due to the limitation of Gazelle and Semi Circle ) and Level 4 is not very nice (to call it Miragestalio , difficult to search by Lady Debug ) so you should only play 0-1 copies.
Fowl 's second effect is quite situational but also useful when facing opponents who use too many annoying backrows. Guarantee your OTK turn.
As for the other Salamangreats , although their effects are quite interesting, they are not very useful for the deck so I will ignore them for now.
Salamangreat Magics
Salamangreat Circle (1x)
Salamangreat Circle
Activate 1 of these effects. ● Add 1 "Salamangreat" monster from your Deck to your hand. ● Target 1 "Salamangreat" Link Monster you control that was Link Summoned using a monster with its same name as material; that Link Monster is unaffected by monster effects this turn, except its own. You can only activate 1 "Salamangreat Circle" per turn.
Salamangreat Sanctuary (1x)
Salamangreat Sanctuary
If you Link Summon a "Salamangreat" Link Monster, you can use 1 "Salamangreat" Link Monster you control with its same name as the entire material. During damage calculation, if your monster battles: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 Link Monster you control; make its ATK 0, and if you do, gain LP equal to its original ATK. You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Sanctuary" once per turn.
Helps Salamangreat monsters easily activate effects when Reincarnation Link Summon (Reincarnation Link Summon - explained in the overview and description). Searched by Balelynx so the number of players is only 1 (any more will cause bricking) (Soulmaker, 2020).
Will of the Salamangreat (1-3x)
Will of the Salamangreat
During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 "Salamangreat" monster from your hand or GY. You can send this face-up card from the field to the GY, then target 1 "Salamangreat" Link Monster you control that was Link Summoned using a monster with its same name as material; Special Summon "Salamangreat" monster(s) from your hand and/or GY in Defense Position, up to the number of that monster's Link Rating. You can only use 1 "Will of the Salamangreat" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
If you play Flame Buffalo then play this card. Helps you "recycle" Salamangreats that have been "dropped" to the grave thanks to Buffalo's ability to continue activating effects or summon Link to new monsters.
Playing 1-2 copies of it, it is rare to see any player play the third card because the brick rate is quite high.
Salamangreat Pitfalls
Salamangreat Rage and Salamangreat Roar (Đều nên sử dụng từ 1-2x)
Salamangreat Rage
Activate 1 of these effects. ● Send 1 "Salamangreat" monster from your hand or face-up field to the GY, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. ● Target 1 "Salamangreat" Link Monster you control that was Link Summoned using a monster with its same name as material; destroy cards your opponent controls, up to that monster's Link Rating. You can only activate 1 "Salamangreat Rage" per turn.
Salamangreat Roar
When a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, is activated while you control a "Salamangreat" Link Monster: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. While this card is in the GY, if a "Salamangreat" Link Monster is Link Summoned to your field using a monster with its same name as material: You can Set this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Salamangreat Roar" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
- For Rage, we will mostly use the second effect. Rage helps us shoot a number of cards on the opponent's field exactly equal to the number of Link Markers of the Reincarnation Link summoned monster. A very interesting effect to avoid Eldlich's effect, but the effect of Eldlich traps has the ability to restock so it is not very valuable in this metagame.
- For Roar, the Counter effect is quite good, plus Spell Speed 3 is very interesting and annoying to many Decks. The recycling ability is very good (when 1 successfully summons Reincarnation Link ), plus the ability to self-recycle/recycle through Sunlight Wolf , you don't need to play too much Roar.

Formud Skipper
ATK:

DEF:

During your Main Phase: You can reveal 1 Link Monster in your Extra Deck, and if you do, when you Link Summon this turn, you can treat this card as Link Material with the same name, Type, and Attribute as the revealed monster. If this card is sent to the GY as Link Material: You can add 1 Level 5 or higher Cyberse monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Formud Skipper" once per turn.
Parallel eXceed
ATK:
2000
DEF:
2000
If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of "Parallel eXceed", its Level becomes 4 and its original ATK/DEF become halved. You can only use each of the following effects of "Parallel eXceed" once per turn. ● If you Link Summon: You can Special Summon this card from your hand to your zone that Link Monster points to. ● If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Parallel eXceed" from your Deck.
- Formud's first effect changes its properties to make it easier to summon Salamangreat , but it's a bit rarely used, so let's move on to the second effect. When this card is sent to the grave as a Link Summon material (usually for Balelynx), you gain 1 Cyberse of Level 5 or higher from the deck. The only card you need to search for is Parallel eXceed (if you play the version that uses Parallel eXceed ).
Helps you quickly reach Xyz Rank 4 when you successfully summon Link. Xyz Rank 4 goals are varied, such as
- Number 41 (helps lock the field, plus you are not affected much because we only play around Magic/Traps/Link Monsters)
- Abyss Dweller (grave lock)
- Number 60 (retract 1 monster from the grave/buff attack to OTK/increase draws to combo)
- …
Otherwise, you can continue to use them as materials to summon Link.
- Number 41 (helps lock the field, plus you are not affected much because we only play around Magic/Traps/Link Monsters)
Therefore, the number of players is: Formud plays 1, Parallel eXceed plays 3. (If Formud is not played, then play 0-0)

1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 "Salamangreat Sanctuary" from your Deck to your hand. If a "Salamangreat" card(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead. You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Balelynx" once per turn.
- Balelynx is a good searcher for Sanctuary. With an interesting protection effect, and easy summoning conditions (1 Level 4 Cyberse or lower), it is not difficult to understand why Balelynx is always played 3.
- Sunlight Wolf is the trump card of the Deck. When a monster is summoned to the space this card points to, you get 1 FIRE from the grave to your hand (including Ash), but you cannot summon that monster until the end of your turn. But the effect that makes Sunlight Wolf great is its second effect. When this card is summoned Reincarnation Link , you get 1 Salamangreat Spell/Trap from the grave! It could be Roar to counter, Rage to attack, Circle to continue searching, etc. From there we can see an extremely close connection in the deck: Gazelle sends 1 Magic/Trap to the grave, Sunlight Wolf "picks up" that piece back into his hand. It can be said that Sunlight Wolf is not only a recycler of the deck, but also a searcher when accompanying Gazelle. That's also the understandable reason why searchers say Gazelle is hit :v (Soulmaker, 2020)
- Heatleo's first effect allows you to shuffle a card in your opponent's backrow into the deck, causing quite a bit of discomfort for your opponent, forcing them to activate the card you are targeting. The second effect is when Reincarnation Link is summoned, you can exchange the ATK of 1 monster on the field with the ATK of 1 monster in the grave. Quite useful when preparing to finish off an opponent.
- Pryo Phoenix has pretty good stats and a very strong burn damage effect. However, there is also a situation where if you summon an opponent's strong monster and have an unpleasant effect, that's fine. The effect when summoning Recarnation Link is also very good to destroy the entire opponent's field.
- The Miragestalio effect is very cool, allowing you to summon 1 Salamangreat from the deck by detaching 1 material, and the limit is that you are not allowed to activate the effects of other monsters except FIRE (this is an extremely loose limit). . With this effect, you can call out Jack Jaguar, Gazelle,.. easily. Best of all, you can push a monster back to your hand when this card is used as material for Salamangreat 's Link summon. This is an extremely useful monster in the Deck that you cannot ignore.

You can only use this effect of "Number 60: Dugares the Timeless" once per turn.
- Number 60: Dugares the Timeless allows you to continue pushing damage if your turn is interrupted or to build up more defense by drawing more cards.
- With Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir you just have to sit and wait for everything, this happens more often than you can imagine (No effects affect it, turn all monsters into defense and punches) . It's also extremely strong in matches that don't eliminate your core.
