Master Duel: Instructions for playing and building Kashtira Ruler

Master Duel: Instructions for playing and building Kashtira Ruler

Dragon Ruler - A line of cards that has had its power nerfed since its birth (2013) until now it can be used more effectively in Master Duel when all 4 dragons are released for Duelists to use!

And on this occasion, I want to introduce to you a gameplay that will optimize the advantages that Dragon Ruler brings => Combine Dragon Ruler and Kashtira

The pros & cons of this Deck are:
  • Pros:
    • Continuity is increased as much as possible => Body is continuously summed, Hand is not easy to die (dead hand 1/10 matches)
    • Increased optimization when using hand techs (including Dragon Ruler)
    • Increased optimization when accessing Rank 7
    • Limits the possibility of Kashtira's handtrap (both lines support each other)
    • Suitable for Kashtira due to its many different attributes
    • Suitable for front or back (can have 2 builds)
  • Cons:
    • Lacks a stable handtrap (at least in this format, Dragon Rulers don't have Quick Effect)
    • It is possible to go turn 1 but will lack goods and not develop the Deck's potential
    • Easily swept by claws if you take the first turn (no protective shield)

=> Simply normal Kashtira but with increased ability to not lose monsters if caught by a handtrap

Sections covered in this guide:

Kashtira

Because the main Deck circuit is still Kashtira, it will be necessary to briefly talk about what they will bring to the field. And also emphasized that Kashtira's monsters can take advantage of the Dragon Ruler format very well because they carry many different Attributes. Therefore, it will be a difficult problem in dividing Deck slots :v ...

Kashtira Ogre, Kashtira Unicorn and Kashtira Fenrir (The trio is easy to summon)

Kashtira Fenrir

As the name suggests, as long as there are no monsters on the field, this trio will easily enter the field (but only applies to 1 monster, the rest still have to be summoned normally). But that's not the only advantage they offer!

*A little note: the 2nd eff of the trio will be activated every time THEY attack or the eff of opp's monster is activated

We have:
  • Fenrir:
    • 1st eff: search 1 monster Kashtira
    • 2nd eff: banish FACE DOWN 1 face-up card on opp's field
  • Unicorn:
    • 1st eff: search 1 Spell Kashtira
    • 2nd eff: banish FACE DOWN 1 card from opp's Extra Deck
  • Ogre:
    • 1st eff: search 1 Trap Kashtira
    • 2nd eff: banish FACE DOWN 1 card when scanning 1-5 cards (your choice) from opp's Main Deck

Kashtira Riseheart (The key to getting to Arise-Heart on turn 1)
UR rarity
Kashtira Riseheart
UR rarity
Kashtira Riseheart

Easy to summon (whether regular sum or spec sum). It's level 4 but can easily get to level 7 by banishing 1 Kashtira card from the Deck and brings the benefit of banishing FACE DOWN all 4 cards from the Main Deck opp. This is the key to bringing Arise-Heart to the field (because AH's summoning condition requires 3 level 7 or Shangri-Ira only needs to activate its eff).

Of course, everyone understands this, but sometimes newbie Duelists will not be careful and miss a beat...

Scareclaw Kashtira
SR rarity
Scareclaw Kashtira

Both of these hybrids are very good to use in the Deck when the sum conditions are very easy to use (right at hand) and their advantages also bring great progress to the Deck:
  • Scareclaw: beater but uses DEF (like Superheavy Samurai), looks like a level 7 body so we can take advantage. What is worth mentioning is that it will help when Battle => Block all effs of opp monsters => Very useful against Mikanko, Numeron,...
  • Tearlaments: because the eff still has something of Tear plus the extremely easy summon condition, it is hit down to 1. If summoned, it will pull 3 cards from the Main Deck (anyone can) to the GY, but if sent down to GY with eff, it will pull 2 more cards from your Main Deck to GY.

=> Increase Kashtira's body and at the same time gain additional advantages for them. If combined with Dragon Ruler, you will have more items to discard, so it is highly recommended to discard at least 1 copy of each card.

Kashtira Shangri-Ira

As we know, the necessary, sufficient and easy condition for Arise-Heart is Shangri-Ira . And the final boss of the Deck is Arise-Heart . Therefore, both are indispensable lifelines :
  • Shangri-Ira: continuously sums Kashtira every Standby Phase, blocks the field, has longevity, conditions make it easy to sum Arise-Heart
  • Arise-Heart: Great damage, floodgate block GY, quick banish FACE DOWN 1 card on the field, easy to summon

Kashtira Birth

  • Extend the field in 2 ways: normal from hand and special from GY/banish (quite convenient).
  • In addition, an additional benefit when using this card is that if opp uses a spell, you can ban 3 cards from opp's GY (remember that opp's GY must have at least 3 cards, 2 cards cannot be banned). where ~~)

Kashtira Big Bang (Extender 3 + Evenly Match ver Kashtira)
SR rarity
Kashtira Big Bang
SR rarity

  • If you have a good combo with Riseheart, you will be able to take advantage of Big Bang as the third extender of the Deck
  • Or you can also use it as a weaker version of Evenly Match (only banish monsters)

Dragon Ruler

And we come to the main purpose of this guide - the Dragon Rulers. So why are they strong? ...
...
...
...
In fact, we can take advantage of them as Extenders, which are quite useful for this Deck (level 7 is extremely easy to sum): v What's worth mentioning is not the bodies they bring, but the countless effects they have. can help us extend in different ways and add a fairly stable bombardment option to the Deck.

The important thing to remember about Dragon Rulers is that you are only allowed to use 1 of their 3 main effs! That means you need to have many copies of them to take advantage of your necessary advantages!

Blaster Dragon Ruler of Infernos (x1-3 depending on build)
UR rarity
Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos
UR rarity
Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos

Because it was released a long time ago and it is used a lot in FIRE Decks and Armed Dragon , Blaster will be discussed first.
  • The first thing worth mentioning is blaster's discard eff: helps you increase your shooting ability (ie helps increase your power if you go turn 2).
  • The remaining summoning requirements as well as banish effs are quite similar to the remaining 3 Dragon Ruler: require at least 1 FIRE/Dragon monster to apply.

Tidal Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls (Foolish Burial ver DraRuler)
UR rarity
Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls
UR rarity
Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls

  • As for banish effs and summon effs, as mentioned, they are quite similar to the rest of the Rulers: the requirement is to monster WATER
  • The highlight of the card is that the discard eff turns it into a second Foolish Burial to help you have more extenders: extend other Dragon Rulers thanks to their summon effs or extend Kashtiras thanks to Birth .

Redox Dragon Ruler of Boulders (Monster Reborn ver DraRuler)
UR rarity
Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders
UR rarity
Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders

I will skip Redox's banish eff and summon eff to go straight to discard eff :D Simply it can summon any monster from under GY , repeat, ANY MONSTER. Man, it's the second Monster Reborn , nothing more :D But if possible (or very lucky), you can use Redox and Tidal as a complementary combo,...

Tempest Dragon Ruler of Storms (x2 for body and free cost)
UR rarity
Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms
UR rarity
Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms

There is no discard eff, but the use of Tempest is still very useful because it has a pretty good body for level 7, as well as ample cost for Dragon Ruler...

Tech

Simply having an extra body doesn't do Decks any good or protect themselves from the sharp scythes coming from the current meta ~~ That's why we will have the following techs

This engine is quite interesting for Kashtira's current format, because Kashtira will need a lot of protection, so if you can extend the combo line to Synchro, it will give you a pretty unbeatable field setup...

You will follow the basic combo as follows:
  • Create Number 42 => Link to Auroradon => Tribute Auroradon and 1 Token to put 1 Tuner (depending on the monster you choose) on the field => Go to the Synchro combo line you want...

This version leans towards the Synchro combo line, which means the final line will have more protection; This will make your turn 1 more solid and fixed. However, the biggest weakness that still exists is the handtrap; To play a combo line like that, you will have to deal with most of the handtraps, so you will need to increase some hand tech for defense!
