Quick guide to playing Ancient Warrior (Romance of the Three Kingdoms)
Sections covered in this guide:
overview
While Ancient Warriors may go first, the deck's archetype's monsters are "board breakers" designed to go into turn 2 and clear the opponent's established field. More specifically:
- WIND monsters activate their effects while your opponent controls more monsters.
- WATER monsters remove or negate cards your opponent controls.
- FIRE monsters activate their effects when your opponent's cards are destroyed.
- Weaken your opponent's field with Lightning Storm and "Kaiju"
- Set up your starter field with the level 4 Ancient Warriors A ncient Warriors - Loyal Guan Yun , and Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betraya l monsters.
- Continue setting up the field with Ancient Warriors and use their effects to clear the enemy field
- Attack 8000 damage (if not, set up some disturbing effects so the enemy can't comeback).
Main Monsters
Like many other Archetypes, Ancient Warriors have a huge list of monsters and Spells/Traps, however, only the best monsters and Spells are included in the deck. As is the purpose of this quick guide, I'll be focusing on the frequently used "Ancient Warriors" cards.
Starter Monster
Ancient Warriors - Masterful Sun Mou
ATK:
1800
DEF:
1500
While you control another "Ancient Warriors" monster, your opponent's monsters cannot target this card for attacks. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Masterful Sun Mou" once per turn. ● You can send 1 card from your hand or field to the GY; add 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Ancient Warriors - Masterful Sun Mou". ● If your other "Ancient Warriors" monster's effect is activated (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; return it to the hand.
Ancient Warriors - Loyal Guan Yun
ATK:
2500
DEF:
1800
If only your opponent controls a monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Your opponent cannot target other "Ancient Warriors" monsters you control with card effects. If your opponent controls more monsters than you do: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Ancient Warriors - Loyal Guan Yun" once per turn.
Ancient Warriors - Graceful Zhou Gong
ATK:
1600
DEF:
1600
You can target 1 Continuous Spell/Trap you control; send it to the GY, and if you do, add 1 "Ancient Warriors" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. If your other "Ancient Warriors" monster's effect is activated (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors - Graceful Zhou Gong" once per turn.
Ancient Warriors - Virtuous Liu Xuan
ATK:
1400
DEF:
1200
While you control another "Ancient Warriors" monster, your opponent's monsters cannot target this card for attacks. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Virtuous Liu Xuan" once per turn. ● If your opponent controls more monsters than you do: You can send 1 card from your hand or field to the GY; Special Summon 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster from your Deck, except "Ancient Warriors - Virtuous Liu Xuan". ● When an attack is declared involving another "Ancient Warriors" monster you control: You can draw 1 card.
- Sun Mou (x3): is the best Normal Summon card in most situations. His first effect allows any unnecessary card to be changed to any Ancient Warrior card - usually Ancient Warriors - Ingenious Zhuge Kong . Sun Mou 's second effect provides the ability to discard opponent's cards other than Destroy and is usually triggered by Zhuge Kong 's own effect to Summon himself. Sun Mou 's effect can also be activated during your opponent's turn by Ancient Warriors - Rebellious Lu Feng , Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying and Ancient Warriors Oath - Double Dragon Lords .
- Liu Xuan (x1): has a much better first effect, but requires your opponent to control more monsters than you. This sometimes conflicts with Guan Yun and makes Liu Xuan not as good as Sun Mou. Liu Xuan's activated effect is also less useful than Sun Mou's, as card draw in Battle Phase is often too slow. You will usually only use his first effect to Summon Sun Mou or Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying .
- Guan Yun (x3): has an effect quite similar to "Cyber Dragon" allowing you to Summon him if only your opponent controls one card. Not only does it destroy an opponent's monster for free (forcing them to use protective effects), but this card also prevents your opponent from Targeting other Ancient Warriors with cards like Effect Veiler and Infinite Impermanence.
- Finally, Zhou Gong (x0-x1): isn't used much, but he's probably gotten a little better since Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal was added to give us a playable Continuous Spell. Some players add this card to their deck as an additional starter.
Ancient Warriors - Ingenious Zhuge Kong and Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying (Extender Monsters)
Ancient Warriors - Ingenious Zhuge Kong
ATK:
1000
DEF:
2000
If this card is added from the Deck to your hand by the effect of an "Ancient Warriors" card: You can Special Summon it. When a Spell/Trap Card is activated (Quick Effect): You can send 1 face-up "Ancient Warriors" Continuous Spell/Trap you control to the GY; negate the activation. When a monster effect is activated while you control "Ancient Warriors - Virtuous Liu Xuan" (Quick Effect): You can send 1 face-up "Ancient Warriors" Continuous Spell/Trap you control to the GY; negate the activation. You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors - Ingenious Zhuge Kong" once per turn.
Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying
ATK:
2200
DEF:
1800
While you control a Level 7 or higher "Ancient Warriors" monster, your opponent must pay 400 LP to activate a card or effect. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying" once per turn. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Level 7 or higher "Ancient Warriors" monster or 1 "Ancient Warriors" Continuous Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. If a monster is sent to your opponent's GY (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 card in your opponent's GY; banish it, and if you do, draw 1 card.
- Zhuge Kong (x1-x2): usually the best monster to search when using the effect of Sun Mou or Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits - accurately describes Liu Bei's three visits to Zhuge Liang's house to recruit him . Zhuge Kong Summons himself when added to hand, and is often used as material for Ancient Warriors Oath - Double Dragon Lords . Additionally, you can leave this card on the field to negate a Spell/Trap if you still control an "Ancient Warriors Saga" Spell/Trap.
You will never want to draw Zhuge Kong =)), so there are some people who play x2 Zhuge Kong in the deck to avoid blaming themselves for drawing the only x1 in the deck =)) - Don Ying (x1-x2) : is the only Ancient Warrior with 2 effects, both +1 hand. His first effect is quite flexible, allowing you to search for Ancient Warriors - Rebellious Lu Feng, Ancient Warriors - Valiant Zhang De, Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits. His second effect banishes 1 card from your opponent's GY and draws 1 card - activates not only when you destroy them, but also when your opponent uses them as summon material or when they activate hand trap.
The disadvantage of Don Ying is that you need the effects of Liu Xuan, Three Visits, or Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal to Special Summon. You can also Special Summon Guan Yun, destroy a monster with his effect, and then Tribute Don Ying... but that doesn't seem very fun.
Ancient Warriors - Fearsome Zhang Yuan, Ancient Warriors - Valiant Zhang De and Ancient Warriors - Ambitious Cao De (High level monsters)
Ancient Warriors - Fearsome Zhang Yuan
ATK:
2300
DEF:
2000
All other "Ancient Warriors" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Fearsome Zhang Yuan" once per turn. ● At the start of the Damage Step, when your "Ancient Warriors" monster battles an opponent's face-up monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, that opponent's monster loses 1000 ATK. ● If a card(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it.
Ancient Warriors - Valiant Zhang De
ATK:
2700
DEF:
900
Gains 300 ATK for each monster your opponent controls, during your turn only. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Valiant Zhang De" once per turn. ● If you control 2 or more "Ancient Warriors" monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. ● If your opponent controls more monsters than you do: You can activate this effect; this card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase this turn.
Ancient Warriors - Ambitious Cao De
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
While you control another "Ancient Warriors" monster, your opponent cannot target this card with card effects, also it cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors - Ambitious Cao De" once per turn. ● If a card(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can send 1 other card from your hand or field to the GY; Special Summon this card from your hand. ● When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the GY: You can Special Summon that monster to your field in Defense Position.
- Zhang De's Effect (x1) Special Summoning yourself is a common way to combine with Sun Mou's effect and Return a monster to the hand. The ability to attack twice does not happen often as you will usually control 3 monsters at the time Zhang De is summoned, but if you meet this card's conditions you can still summon additional monsters after This card's effect is activated.
- Zhang Yuan's effect (x0-x1) is activated from your hand during the Damage Step, ensuring that the Ancient Warrior you are fighting survives, and reverses the situation so that your opponent's monster is destroyed. This immediately activates Zhang Yuan's second effect to Destroy one more card, but you can also activate it earlier (or during your opponent's turn) with Lu Feng's effect.
- The main effect of Cao De (x1) is to attack and tilt the game in our favor. His effect is to Special Summon himself for 1 cost, however the spells Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits and Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal can also summon this card to the Field.
Ancient Warriors - Rebellious Lu Feng (x3)
Ancient Warriors - Rebellious Lu Feng
ATK:
2800
DEF:
2200
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by controlling the highest ATK "Ancient Warriors" monster on the field (even if it's tied). You can only Special Summon "Ancient Warriors - Rebellious Lu Feng" once per turn this way. Once per turn, during the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can destroy the 1 face-up monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied), also you cannot activate monster effects the turn you activate this effect, except "Ancient Warriors" monsters'. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if your opponent controls a monster with the highest ATK on the field (even if tied): Give control of this card to your opponent.
- If you activate Maxx "C" or Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring , you will not be able to use Lu Feng's effect that turn.
- Lu Feng is based on Lu Bu (also known as Feng Xian) who betrayed almost all of his allies, including Dong Zhuo (Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying) as depicted in the Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal . If your opponent controls the monster with the highest ATK on the field, then in the End Phase Lu Feng will betray you. Cdmmmmmm

2 Beast-Warrior monsters, including a WIND "Ancient Warriors" monster All "Ancient Warriors" monsters you control gain 500 ATK/DEF. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors Oath - Double Dragon Lords" once per turn. If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 "Ancient Warriors" card from your Deck to your hand. (Quick Effect): You can send 1 card from your hand or field to the GY, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; return it to the hand.
- Similar to Forbidden Droplet, you can save resources by Chaining Dragon Lords' Quick Effect with your other Spell/Trap and then sending that Spell/Trap to the GY as a cost for Dragon Lords.

4+ Effect Monsters You can also use 1 monster your opponent controls as material to Link Summon this card. If this card is Link Summoned: You can negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls. This Link Summoned card is unaffected by your opponent's activated effects, unless they target this card. Once per turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect that Special Summons a monster(s) from the GY (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation.
Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir
ATK:
2100
DEF:
2000
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, detach 1 material from this card. If you cannot, destroy it. This Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. Your opponent cannot target this Attack Position card with card effects. While this card is in face-up Defense Position, change all face-up monsters on the field to Defense Position, also negate the activated effects of monsters that were in Defense Position when that effect was activated.
Number 39: Utopia Double
ATK:
0
DEF:
2500
2 Level 4 monsters (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card; add 1 "Double or Nothing!" from your Deck to your hand, then Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Utopia" Xyz Monster, except "Number 39: Utopia Double", by using this face-up card you control as material, and if you do, its ATK becomes doubled, but it cannot attack directly. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) You can only use this effect of "Number 39: Utopia Double" once per turn.
Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder
ATK:
3000
DEF:
3000
2 Level 12 monsters Once per turn, if an Xyz Monster battled this turn, you can also Xyz Summon "Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder" by using 1 Xyz Monster you control as material. (Transfer its materials to this card.) (Quick Effect): You can detach 2 materials from this card; send all other cards from the field to the GY. Once per turn, if another card(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect: You can attach 1 card from your hand, Deck, or Extra Deck to this card as material.
Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon
ATK:
2800
DEF:
2400
2 Level 7 monsters Cannot be destroyed by card effects while it has Xyz Material. While this card has Xyz Material, each time your opponent activates a card or effect, inflict 500 damage to your opponent immediately after it resolves. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.
- Bagooska is a backup plan in case you are forced to go first and cannot set up at least 2 times to prevent your opponent from dancing.
- Utopia Double can be summoned by using Ancient Warriors - Masterful Sun Mou to search for Ancient Warriors - Ingenious Zhuge Kong, then Zhuge Kong will summon himself.
- Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon is summoned in Main Phase 2 if you are just a little short of OTK, preventing your opponent from coming back as they can only activate 1 more card or effect or they will be defeated. burned to death.
- Zeus and Underworld Goddess are additional optional Board breakers. You can choose to summon Zoodiac then Zeus by starting with Zoodiac Chakanine, using it to Xyz summon Zoodiac Boarbow and attack directly.
Tech
Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal, Fire Formation - Tenki and Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits (Core Spell)
Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal
During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster from your hand, and if you do, take damage equal to its Level x 100. You can send this face-up card from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY, then target 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster on the field; change it to any Attribute, then, if you targeted an opponent's monster, you can take control of it. You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Deception and Betrayal" once per turn.
Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits
During your Main Phase, if you Normal or Special Summon an "Ancient Warriors" monster(s): You can target 1 of those monsters; add 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster with a different name from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster from your hand. You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Three Visits" once per turn. Send this card to the GY during your 2nd Standby Phase after activation.
- Tenki not only searches for our best starter cards, but also makes our monsters' effects free by providing their cost.
- Three Visits is the most popular card at the start of the match - depicting Liu Xuan, Guan Yun and Zhang De visiting Zhuge Kong's home to recruit him as their military strategist. Sending Three Visits to the GY gives Ancient Warriors' effects (even if they are negated) activates Three Visits' effect to special summon another Ancient Warrior from your hand. Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying is the most ideal choice, but any Ancient Warrior gets you additional value.
- Deception may not seem very impressive at first, but it allows you to expand and can also be a starter card if you only start your hand with high-level monsters (or your Normal Summon monsters). banned). Deception's second effect changes one of your monsters to the WIND attribute so you can Summon Double Dragon Lords. It is also possible to regain control of your Lu Feng from your opponent's field, but this is actually quite rare with the Lu Bu leopard.
Ancient Warriors Saga - Sun-Liu Alliance and Ancient Warriors Saga - East-by-South Winds (Spell optional (not recommended :))) )
Ancient Warriors Saga - Sun-Liu Alliance
If you control "Ancient Warriors" monsters with 2 or more different Attributes: You can declare 1 Attribute; your opponent cannot activate the effects of monsters they currently control with that Attribute, until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s), or you activate an "Ancient Warriors" monster's effect (except during the Damage Step): You can make all "Ancient Warriors" monsters you control gain 300 ATK for each "Ancient Warriors" monster you control until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Sun-Liu Alliance" once per turn.
Ancient Warriors Saga - East-by-South Winds
You must send this card to the GY during your 2nd Standby Phase after activation. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: Toss a coin and if the result is heads, send this card to the GY. If this card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: You can activate this effect; this turn, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to the activation of your "Ancient Warriors" cards and effects, also until the end of the turn, all "Ancient Warriors" Effect Monsters you currently control gain this effect. ● When this card declares an attack: You can destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
- Sending East-South Winds to the Graveyard for Ancient Warriors' eff will trigger a hidden "blow-up" effect that disables most of your opponent's interactions for the turn. All Ancient Warriors you control also receive the Destroy effect on your opponent's cards when they are assigned an attack.
- Sun-Liu Alliance's first effect is cumbersome, requiring you to control 2 Ancient Warriors with different Attributes. However, its eff below GY can easily deal an additional 2700 to 4800 damage to OTK.
Ancient Warriors Saga - Chivalrous Path, Ancient Warriors Saga - Defense of Changban and Ancient Warriors Saga - Borrowing of Arrows (Self-squeeze)
Ancient Warriors Saga - Chivalrous Path
If an "Ancient Warriors" monster(s) would be destroyed by battle, you can send this card to the GY instead. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Chivalrous Path" once per turn. If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Warriors Token" (Beast-Warrior/WIND/Level 1/ATK 500/DEF 500). When a card or effect is activated that targets an "Ancient Warriors" monster(s) on the field: You can banish this card from your GY; negate the activation.
Ancient Warriors Saga - Defense of Changban
If your "Ancient Warriors" monster battles, your opponent cannot activate any Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Defense of Changban" per turn, and only once that turn. ● At the start of your opponent's Battle Phase: You can send this face-up card from your Spell & Trap Zone to the GY; monsters your opponent controls cannot target "Ancient Warriors" monsters for attacks this turn. ● When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can banish this card from your GY; Special Summon 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster from your Deck.
Ancient Warriors Saga - Borrowing of Arrows
You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and 1 "Ancient Warriors" monster you control; until the end of this turn, halve that opponent's monster's ATK, and if you do, add that lost ATK to your monster (even if this card leaves the field). If this card is sent to the GY while you control "Ancient Warriors" monsters with 2 or more different Attributes: You can place 1 "Ancient Warriors" Continuous Spell/Trap from your hand or Deck face-up on your field, except "Ancient Warriors Saga - Borrowing of Arrows". You can only use each effect of "Ancient Warriors Saga - Borrowing of Arrows" once per turn.
Don't put it in please
Small World, Pot of Desires and Pot of Extravagance (Anti deadhand)
Small World
Reveal 1 monster in your hand, choose 1 monster from your Deck that has exactly 1 of the same Type, Attribute, Level, ATK or DEF, and banish the revealed monster from your hand face-down. Then add, from the Deck to your hand, 1 monster that has exactly 1 of the same Type, Attribute, Level, ATK or DEF as the monster chosen from your Deck, and banish the card chosen from the Deck face-down. You can only activate 1 "Small World" per turn.
- Extravagance is an almost indispensable x3 card for obvious reasons. It doesn't have any limitations because Dragon Lords is the only card in your Extra Deck that you care about. But remember that you cannot activate the card draw effect of Ancient Warriors - Virtuous Liu Xuan and Ancient Warriors - Savage Don Ying after Extravagance's effect resolves.
- Desires is played sometimes by people who don't care that it cannot be activated on the same turn as Extravagance.
- Small World is a card that can be considered 'love it or hate it' depending on your play style. It is a –1 card that can always search for any monster in your deck (Ancient Warrior or Kaiju) regardless of whether that monster is in your hand or not. Ancient Warriors are only similar in Type, so there is no need to add a "bridge" monster to activate the effect into the deck.
Board Breaker
Forbidden Droplet
Send any number of other cards from your hand and/or field to the GY; choose that many Effect Monsters your opponent controls, and until the end of this turn, their ATK is halved, also their effects are negated. In response to this card's activation, your opponent cannot activate cards, or the effects of cards, with the same original type (Monster/Spell/Trap) as the cards sent to the GY to activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Forbidden Droplet" per turn.
Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju
ATK:
2200
DEF:
3000
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) to your opponent's field in Attack Position, by Tributing 1 monster they control. If your opponent controls a "Kaiju" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Attack Position. You can only control 1 "Kaiju" monster. When your opponent activates a card or effect, except "Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju" (Quick Effect): You can remove 2 Kaiju Counters from anywhere on the field; negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card.
- Ancient Warriors are already good at destroying monsters but are worse at removing Spell/Trap, so Lightning Storm and Harpie's Feather Duster are important staple cards in most Formats. Raigeki is also a pretty good choice.
- Gameciel can be searched through Small World by banishing Sun Mou from your deck. Droplet activates the "Ancient Warriors Saga" Spell effects that will activate when sent to the GY. Ultimate Slayer gives you card advantage by activating the effects of Elder Enity N'tss, Fossil Warrior Skull Knight , Wind Pegasus @Ignister and Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom.
Some other options
Alpha, the Master of Beasts
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) while the total ATK of all monsters your opponent controls is more than that of all monsters you control. You can target any number of Beast, Beast-Warrior, and/or Winged Beast monsters you control; return them to the hand, then, return face-up monsters your opponent controls to the hand, equal to the number of cards you returned to the hand, also for the rest of this turn, "Alpha, the Master of Beasts" you control cannot attack directly. You can only use this effect of "Alpha, the Master of Beasts" once per turn.
Triple Tactics Talent
If your opponent has activated a monster effect during your Main Phase this turn: Activate 1 of these effects; ● Draw 2 cards. ● Take control of 1 monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. ● Look at your opponent's hand, and choose 1 card from it to shuffle into the Deck. You can only activate 1 "Triple Tactics Talent" per turn.
Metalfoes Fusion
Fusion Summon 1 "Metalfoes" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can shuffle it into the Deck, then draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Metalfoes Fusion" once per turn.
Dinowrestler Pankratops
ATK:
2600
DEF:
0
If your opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only Special Summon "Dinowrestler Pankratops" once per turn this way. (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 "Dinowrestler" monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Dinowrestler Pankratops" once per turn.
- Pankratops is a solid choice for most decks when it comes to going second, and Alpha's effects will be enhanced since Ancient Warriors are Beast-warriors. However, both of them are not played much because the Ancient Warriors themselves are already very strong in destroying monsters.
- Triple Tactics Talent and Called by the Grave are both easy to understand and depend on your own preferences.
- Metalfoes Fusion can be sent to the Graveyard to activate the effects of your Ancient Warrios, then refund that cost with a draw.
Hand Traps
Infinite Impermanence
Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; negate its effects (until the end of this turn), then, if this card was Set before activation and is on the field at resolution, for the rest of this turn all other Spell/Trap effects in this column are negated. If you control no cards, you can activate this card from your hand.
Artifact Lancea
ATK:
1700
DEF:
2300
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell. During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your GY: Special Summon it. During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up field; neither player can banish cards for the rest of this turn.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
ATK:
0
DEF:
1800
When a card or effect is activated that includes any of these effects (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate that effect. ● Add a card from the Deck to the hand. ● Special Summon from the Deck. ● Send a card from the Deck to the GY. You can only use this effect of "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" once per turn.
Hand Traps are popular in Master Duel. With the current game situation, if you play the game without hand traps, you are truly masochistic =))
However, we need a number of "Ancient Warrior" cards in our hand to be able to play, so put a few Hand traps in your deck.

Epilogue
In the present time, the trend is that everyone plays decks that like to go turn 1 and set up an unstoppable board (del for those who play the game), then playing an Archetype that likes to go turn 2 will be like a breath of fresh air. less boring. Ancient Warriors also have effects that protect each other from being targeted or attacked, and of course "Yu-gi-oh player can't read" by the time they realize it, it's too late.
Ancient Warriors is quite vulnerable to having sub-optimal hands, so this deck has never reached Tier 1 or Tier 2. However, it has shown quite good potential in some tournaments and Archetypes. This can win many victories in the Diamond rank metagame. So, if you are looking for a deck that clears the field without having to rely on Extra Decks then Ancient Warriors could be a great fit for you.
