Part 2: Combo + Decklist + Tip




Combo

Code Talker is a combo-heavy deck, so of course the combos will be a bit lengthy. The Deck has a lot of 2 and 3 card combos for its Endboard, but for simplicity here are the 2 card combos the Deck wants to do first.

Please note that Code Talker depends on SEGOC . If you don't know how it works, it sounds harder than it actually is, trust me. The problem is that Master Duel automatically gives you Chain Links, but for a better playing experience, you want to change it to manual Chain Links.

The best thing to do is go to the game's Options, go to Duel Options and switch the "Activation Order Settings" Option from "Off" to "On".

An example of how this affects gameplay can be seen if you Summon Accesscode Talker using Gatchiri @Ignister as the material. The game will ask you if you want to activate both Accesscode Talker and Gatchiri @Ignisters effects in the new Chain, but Accesscode Talker will always be activated first as Chain Link 1. This is really bad, making Accesscode Talker has a banning effect Your opponent does not activate any cards in response to its effects, so if it is the last Chain Link in a Chain with multiple simultaneous effects then your opponent will Cannot react to any card in that Chain. If you switch "Activation Order Settings" to "On" , you will be able to tell the game that in this case, Gatchiri @Ignister will activate as Chain Link 1 and Accesscode Talker as Chain Link 2, protecting all your effects.

    6. Use Formud Skipper to Link Summon Talkback Lancer to the Extra Monster Zone on the left . Activate both Formud Skipper and Parallel eXceed in your hand, Special Summon Parallel eXceed and search Gatchiri @Ignister . Parallel eXceed then Special Summons another copy of itself from your Deck.
    7. Activate Gatchiri @Ignister by targeting and then negating Code Talker Inverted to Special Summon from your hand.
    8. Use Code Talker Inverted , 1 Parallel eXceed and Gatchiri @Ignister to Link Summon Firewall Dragon to the Main Monster Zone in the middle . Activate Gatchiri @Ignister in your GY and target Firewall Dragon with its effect.
    9. Use your last Parallel eXceed to Link Summon Link Devotee into the Main Monster Zone that Talkback Lancer points to.
    10. Activate Talkback Lancer to sacrifice Link Devotee, target and then special summon Transcode Talker from your GY. Activate Link Devotee in your GY to Special Summon 2 Tokens to your field.
    11. Complete the Extra Link by using 1 Link Token to Link Summon Salamangreat Balelynx to the Extra Monster Zone on the right . Activate the Balelynx effect to search Salamangreat Sanctuary and activate it.

                    Current decklist:

                    With "only" 12 UR cards and 26 SR cards, my list is one of the more budget-friendly Extra Link deck lists you can currently find in the Platinum 1 Code Talker deck list.

                    Salamangreat Foxy is a valuable tech option for removing cards like Imperial Order or Skill Drain .



                    Strengths + Weaknesses

                    Strength:

                    1. The almost unchangeable pitch goes first
                    2. Accesscode Talker has full support to clear your opponent's field and attack in the game
                    3. The Core Deck itself is quite small, space for up to 12 points of flexibility (cards to enter/exit or tech options).
                    4. Block chain works to solve many handtraps and negations
                    5. The deck is relatively unknown and there aren't many Side Decks against it
                    6. Teaches you a lot about managing Zones
                    7. Strategies and Decks are difficult to power
                    Weakness:
                    1. Depends a lot on GY
                    2. Depends a lot on monster effects
                    3. Summon Tribute and cards like Forbidden Droplet (send Iblee to GY) are locked
                    4. There are some strong counters that can stop the whole turn ( Droll & Lock Bird )



                    Tip

                    You don't need to Extra Link your opponent to win . Knightmare Corruptor Iblee on your opponent's side of the field and Salamangreat Sanctuary as well as disrupting your opponent's Normal Summon (e.g. Firewall Dragon returning Normal Summon to your hand ) on your side of the field can be enough to prevent their turn. Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax itself may also be unusable for some decks .

                    You may have noticed that Code Talkers trigger up to 3 Active Effects at once when Link Summon occurs. Take advantage of this to deal with possible handtraps or negations from your opponents . Sometimes you mess up combos with it, but you're better off using more resources to build a good deck than ending up empty-handed due to poor combo management .

                    Cynet Codec's "once per attribute" effect only takes effect once a card has been successfully added to your hand . For example, if Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring negate your search DARK attribute, you can simply create another Code Talker to try searching again for 1 DARK .
