Baronne de Fluer is a key monster that is considered strong in the game's current formats (OCG, TCG, Master Duel). Let's see how this monster can be summoned and how it affects the current game.
Baronne de Fleur - Things to know - Part 1
Quickview
Baronne de Fleur (Focus monster)
Baronne de Fleur
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2400
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy it. Once while face-up on the field, when a card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can only use the previous effect of "Baronne de Fleur" once per turn. Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: You can target 1 Level 9 or lower monster in your GY; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Special Summon that monster.
Baronne de Fluer is a synchro monster, WIND type, level 10, Warrior type, ATK 3000, DEF 2400.
The ingredients are 1 tuner and an arbitrary number of non-tuner monsters.
Summary of this monster's effects:
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters (first) Once per turn: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy it. (2) Once while face-up on the field, when a card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can only use this effect of "Baroness de Fleur" once per turn. (3) Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: You can target 1 Level 9 or lower monster in your GY; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Special Summon that monster. |
With effect (1), Baronne can destroy any card on the field (with target) once per turn.
Effect (2) is a quick effect that is also the trademark effect of this monster. This effect allows this monster to negate the activation of cards or card effects or card effects (as much as possible). This effect of Baronne can only be used once per turn. Each Baronne on the field can only use this effect once when they are on the field face-up.
Effect (3) can activate during the standby phase, you can return this monster to the extra deck and then summon a level 9 or lower monster in your grave (with target).
Summoning conditions
- Baronne is a synchro monster, meaning you must spend at least 2 monsters (1 tuner, 1 non-tuner) to special summon this card.
- Baronne will be in the extra deck, making it easy for you to summon it at any time as long as you meet the conditions.
- This is also a generic synchro monster, meaning you only need to meet the level when summoning synchro, no need to care about anything else such as the number of monsters of the summon or the characteristics of the material monster.
Synchro monsters have different material requirements
Borreload Savage Dragon
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2500
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can equip 1 Link Monster from your GY to this card, and if you do, place Borrel Counters on this card equal to that Link Monster's Link Rating. This card gains ATK equal to half the ATK of the monster equipped to it by its effect. When your opponent activates a card or effect (Quick Effect): You can remove 1 Borrel Counter from this card; negate the activation. You can only use this effect of "Borreload Savage Dragon" once per turn.
Satellite Warrior
ATK:
2500
DEF:
2000
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner Synchro Monsters If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target cards your opponent controls, up to the number of Synchro Monsters in your GY; destroy them, and if you do, this card gains 1000 ATK for each card destroyed. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed: You can Special Summon up to 3 Level 8 or lower "Warrior", "Synchron", and/or "Stardust" Synchro Monsters with different names from your GY. You can only use each effect of "Satellite Warrior" once per turn.
Geomathmech Final Sigma
ATK:
3000
DEF:
0
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters Unaffected by card effects, except "Mathmech" cards, while in the Extra Monster Zone. If this card in the Extra Monster Zone battles an opponent's monster, any battle damage it inflicts to your opponent is doubled. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can add 1 "Mathmech" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Geomathmech Final Sigma" once per turn.
Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss
ATK:
3200
DEF:
2500
1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner DARK Dragon Synchro Monster (Quick Effect): You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can target 1 Tuner in your GY; Special Summon it in Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss" once per turn.
Adamancipator Risen - Dragite
ATK:
3000
DEF:
2200
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters During your Main Phase: You can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, and if you do, you can return cards your opponent controls to the hand, up to the number of excavated Rock monsters, also place the excavated cards on the bottom of your Deck in any order. When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card or effect, while a WATER monster is in your GY (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. You can only use each effect of "Adamancipator Risen - Dragite" once per turn.
Borreload Savage Dragon only needs to be summoned with at least 2 monsters (1 tuner and 1 non-tuner). However, to get negate, you must have a link monster in your grave to equip this monster.
Final Sigma also has a simple summoning method but is a passive monster that does not interact much with opponents.
Adamancipator Risen – Dragite can only negate spells and activation traps and requires a WATER-type monster in the grave to use this effect.
Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss requires exactly 1 DARK Dragon synchro monster as non-tuner material. Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon also requires a synchro monster as a non-tuner material. Compared to monsters like Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss and Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, you can pull up Baronne earlier than these monsters to minimize the threat from your opponent's cards thanks to the negate effect.
Satellite Warrior requires non-tuner materials such as synchro monsters.
Compared to some other powerful synchro monsters that have an impact on the game, Barrone is a synchro monster that is both easier to summon and has more potential.
Baronne's shot effect
( Once per turn: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy it.)
Baronne's shooting effect (effect (1)) helps you destroy 1 card on the field:
- Target can be monsters, spells, traps.
- Target doesn't care about face-up or face-down.
- Target is on any part of the field, including yours or the opponent's.
This shooting effect of Baronne helps you catch a dangerous card on the opponent's field before you want to continue the combo or enter battle. Not only that, you can also destroy cards on your own field to activate a number of other effects.
Each different copy of Baronne can use this effect once per turn. In return for the flexibility of Baronne's effect, this effect can only be used in your main phase and cannot be chained to other effects.
Baronne's negate effect
( Once while face-up on the field, when a card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can only use this effect of "Baroness de Fleur" once per turn. )
The negate effect is the most used effect as well as the player's purpose when summoning Baronne in the first turn. This effect helps protect your combo from your opponent's cards or can block your opponent's combo once.
This effect of Baronne can only be activated once per turn (when there are many Baronnes on the field, you can only use this effect of Baronne once).
You can only use this effect once for each Baronne on the field when they are face-up on the field.
Baronne's negate effect can be used to negate the "activation" of monsters, spells, and traps anywhere, and then destroy that card.
Special summoning effect from the grave
(Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: You can target 1 Level 9 or lower monster in your GY; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Special Summon that monster.)
With effect (3), you can return Baronne from the field to the extra deck to summon a level 9 or lower monster from the grave (with target). This effect can be used during the standby phase of both players.
Players will often use this effect to pull back some important monsters from the grave, and you can synchro summon Baronne again to reuse this monster's negate effect.

With the nature of a deck that spams monsters to use as materials to summon synchro, xyz, and link, calling out Baronne is not too difficult compared to the deck.
Some ways to get Baronne in the deck:
Tuner 2 ( Adamancipator Researcher , Adamancipator Seeker , Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion ) + 1x Non-tuner 8 ( Block Dragon ).
Tuner 2 + 2x Non-tuner 4 ( Koa'ki Meiru Guardian , Koa'ki Meiru Supplier , Gigantes , Prank-Kids Rocksies ).
