This is a guide to help you understand more about Madolche and how to build and play Madolche!




overview

Madolche is a great deck, focusing on recycling, combos, and their special ability to move from the grave to the deck (or use a field spell) when destroyed. Madolche is very good at clearing a field with just one starting card, although it can sometimes have difficulty countering negative cards so playing hands to bait or negate cards of the opponent is very important. First, your opponent needs to clear the field through multiple layers to prevent you from going "out of zone" on turn 3 and OTK.

While Madolche is not a tier 1 meta deck, it is a very solid choice with a once per turn non-target to kick back 1-2 cards to the deck and the possibility of your opponent having to Shuffle their GY combo pieces back into the deck.

Madolche players always go second or think the deck performs equally well going first or second. Personally, I think Promenade's negation and the GY trick with Teacher Glassouffle make it a better frontrunner. If something goes wrong, you can always do a Turn2 play on Turn3 with the rest of the field to help set things up. Ultimately it is a matter of personal preference.

Madolche's theme is delicious desserts that represent a monarchy (beasts) and an elaborate fantasy kingdom (spell/trap). With a total of around thirty cards, Madolche gets some well-deserved love, and has received significant support in many sets such as Savage Strike, Return of the Duelist, Eternity Code, Primal Origin, Abyss Rising, Flames of Destruction, Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy, Crossed Souls, and Dark Neostorm (excluding reprints). The latest cards to enter the archetype include the current staples, Madolche Salon and Madolche Promenade , which are a strong consistency boost and a multi-negation trap that you can search for.

This is Lonefire Blossom for the deck, and a body in the grave for Hootcake, Anjelly is a must-have and absolutely indispensable in your combo.

Anjelly is used in two main ways. The first is to bring out Hootcake to banish her (or another monster like a handtrap) and bring 1 Beast onto the field with another summon or Petingcessoeur.

The only card in the deck that cannot be used to summon XYZ, this owl acts as an extender and a beast to trigger Messengelato's effects, and can even act as a starter by banishing handtraps. hidden from the grave. A good way to set up for turn 3/4 is to use Anjelly to summon Hootcake in a defensive position, it cannot be destroyed and few opponents know this so you can use Hootcake to banish the turn 3 and reset his field.

This is Stratos for the archetype, it searches your starter, is a level 4 body and you will never really get upset when you see it. If you have Salon in hand, she can chain to herself then go to Peting.

Regardless of your combo, having an extra level 4 will greatly help with expanding into the Extra Deck. Sistart, Tiara, and Teacher can all use her as a material.

Messengelato is probably the only reason this deck can combo effectively and also its Garnet. This card only adds a spell/trap Madolche to your hand while a monster is on the field when it is Special Summoned. That effect is NOT once per turn, if you summon it continuously you will get a lot of spells.

Unfortunately, Messengelato is easy to miss in time. For this reason, place Ticket to the left of Salon and do not summon Messengelato with Chocolate if Ticket or Salon activates.

The single best addition to Madolche except for Salon Maybe (Maybe!). Petingcessoeur is a 1-card XYZ starter, as long as your grave has no monsters. Be careful with playing handtrap if Peting is your only starter when going later.

In almost every case, she will carry her big sister Puddingcess, exceptions are rare but do exist.

And here we have the big sister. If Messengelato is a ruby, then this little princess is just a brick :v If you drew her, you might as well have skipped your Draw Phase because Petingcessoeur can summon from the hand or deck equally good. This 5-star monster cannot even be Normal summoned to the field without a Tribute Summon. Her ability to destroy a card after battle is fine, if appropriate.

    When this card is activated: Shuffle all "Madolche" monsters in your Graveyard into the Deck. All "Madolche" monsters on the field gain 500 ATK and DEF. If a monster(s) in your Graveyard would be returned to the Deck by the effect of a "Madolche" monster, you can add it to your hand instead.


    • Field Spell in the Madolche Spell set of 3, it has 3 important effects on the deck. First, when activated, all Madolche monsters in the grave that return to the deck can activate Chocolate, Ticket, or Salon allowing them to extend their combo, which would be great for a regular spell.
    • It then has an effect that allows any monster (NOT Madolche, ANY monster) added from the GY to the Deck to be sent to the alternate hand. If you do so with a handtrap (via Teacher's effect), you can place them back in your hand. Recycle those Ashes and make your opponents cry.
    • And the final effect is just to make your OTK easier, +500 ATK to all your Madolches.

      During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 "Madolche" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) If another "Madolche" card(s) you control or in your GY is added to your hand or shuffled into your Main Deck by a card effect: Set 1 "Madolche" Spell/Trap directly from your Deck, except "Madolche Salon". You can only use this effect of "Madolche Salon" once per turn.


      The best extender combo that Madolche has. This card along with Peting makes Magiliene a pretty good starter.

      Salon is a dual summon of the 1-turn/turn archetype to start, which has been great at making Madolche more consistent. Then, when you add a Madolche to your deck or hand from the grave, you will receive Ticket, Chateau, Promenade, or Night.

      A great effect and a good effect makes for a great card. You want to see this in your hands every match. If you're running out of space, you can cut this down to two copies but it's a tough decision. One thing to note is that Salon can chain block allowing you to summon relatively safely when it activates with Ticket or Chocolate.

        When a "Madolche" card(s) is returned from your side of the field or Graveyard to your hand or Main Deck by a card effect: Add 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck to your hand. If you control a face-up Fairy-Type "Madolche" monster, you can Special Summon the monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position instead of adding it to your hand. You can only use the effect of "Madolche Ticket" once per turn.


        Ticket is one of Madolche's three main spells, along with Salon and Field Spell Chateau. The ability to add any Madolche from the deck (or to the field if a Fairy is on the field such as all Extra monsters, or a pair of princesses) is great when it activates, the Chocolate effect has no cost once per turn .

        It's also the least useful of the three Spells, you only want to search for Tickets when you know you can activate it to extend your turn even further or you already have all you need. Play one and only one copy.

          When a monster effect is activated, if you have no monsters in your Graveyard: Negate the activation, then if you control "Madolche Puddingcess", shuffle 1 random card from your opponent's hand into the Deck.


          This is an extremely default trap, if you have no monsters in the Graveyard, you will gain a negation of monster effects. If Puddingcess is on the field (main deck Puddingcess, Chocolat-ala-mode will not count), you can also reshuffle a card from your opponent's hand. It's pretty cool!.

          The problem is in the first clause. If you don't have any monsters in the GY. Initially Madolche wants an empty grave, then they roll Promenade and Sistart and now you want Madolche in the grave when it's your opponent's turn. Running this is an option, it involves setting you up with 0 monsters in the grave to take advantage of it and having Pudding on the field, perhaps from Ticket.

You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 "Madolche" Xyz Monster you control; attach 1 "Madolche" monster from your hand, Deck, or GY, to it as material. You can only use 1 "Madolche Promenade" effect per turn, and only once that turn.


            Welcome to the archetype's Negate and its ability to become a combo deck when it's your opponent's turn just to annoy them. Madolche Promenade is the reason you always want to have monsters in your Graveyard right now, unlike the original Madolche, which keeps the Graveyard completely empty when it's your opponent's turn. Omni-Negate then adds a Madolche to his hand, activating Ticket and Salon. Additionally, you can attach a Madolche to an XYZ you control, which is great for reclaiming Puddingcess under Chocolate

            2 "Madolche" monsters While this card points to a "Madolche" monster, "Madolche" Spells/Traps you control cannot be destroyed by card effects, also neither player can target them with card effects.             Who knew that it was possible to protect all your advantages by using face-up magic that would be beneficial. And on top of that, being able to protect yourself by frying a Madolche in the grave doesn't seem too bad either.

            Sistart also has the 'ability' as a Link monster to send cards on the field to the grave directly, activating Teacher's effect and filling the grave for other effects like GY Madolche to throw back into the deck. This facilitates more extenders.

            The opponent must attack Choux instead of the other Madolches.             Target a Madolche on the field, return it to hand. Increases 1 level and 300 ATK. It's extremely niche, no deck I know of plays it seriously but it might have some benefits. This is a monster so Messengelato can be summoned with it on the field.

            Recasting Chateau is probably your best use here, just make sure your Sistart isn't pointing at Madolche when you try.

            The cat removes your Peting and improves your Anjelly line if you have it on hand. If you don't start with it, you'll be tempted to cry and just set it.

            Mew when Normal summoned can be Special summoned from the hand, so you use this on Anjelly since she doesn't care how she's summoned or Petingcessoeur if you have a monster in the grave that prevents her from doing it herself. summon.               Ah, this card. If this card is a Spell, it will definitely be 3 copies. It's just that the price to pay is huge for a spell, shuffle a Madolche into the deck at will... but it's a Trap. If you set Trap, it will be Promenade, sending a Madolche to hand and Negate instead of +800 ATK.

              The only thing against Lesson is if you have ingredients for Chocolate and don't want/won't use them next turn. Not worth putting in your deck

                Put all your hands on the field in one turn! Yay! You really don't end up with a lot of Madolche on hand to throw away and take advantage of. I suppose it causes a hand-Messengelato. This is a simpler card as the designers thought that an archetype that continuously sends destroyed monsters to the hand would have a lot of monsters in hand.

                Honestly this card would probably be good if it were a spell, but it's not and even if it were a Mew doesn't accept Normal summons and doesn't leave a level 3 body as material for Sistart.

                    Each time a "Madolche" monster you control attacks or is attacked, after damage calculation: Inflict 300 damage to your opponent.


                    Not really unused, it's just held back by the incredibly slow speed of the Master Duel. You see, Madolche Waltz deals 300 damage every time a Madolche monster is engaged. Every times!!!.

                                                                This loop is actually quite easy to set up if it's not interrupted, as long as you draw the card you want to draw and can start your normal combo. So if you want to use this strategy, just add 3 Desperate Tags and 1 Madolche Waltz to your deck. It might also be easier to use 3 Messenger

                                                                Desperate Waltz requires 5 conditions:

                                                                1. Desperate Tag (Trap) is active on the field.
                                                                2. Madolche Waltz (Trap) is in action on the field.
                                                                3. Madolche Chateau (Field) is in action on the field
                                                                4. Madolche Messengelato in hand or on the field.
                                                                5. Madolche Messengelato is on the field.
                                                                Desperate Tag is not searchable, so review it when you see it in your hand.

                                                                Do your normal combo but set a Waltz instead of Promenade or Ticket. Then get Messengelato in hand and on the field, which is pretty easy if you have Chateau in just one attack.

                                                                Once your pieces are on the field, enter Battle Phase and have Madolche Messengelato attack a monster with 2150 ATK or more in Attack Mode. The opponent takes 300 damage, the Messenger dies, the Messenger is special summoned from the hand, the Messenger is added to the hand from the GY.

                                                                Repeat this loop nearly 30 times.

                                                                                                        Final thoughts

                                                                                                        Madolche is a strong rogue deck that can win consistently against the Meta without being overpowered. Its main weakness is the first step, starting from scratch. Although it has a good starting lineup, they are easy to Ash and negate until they establish their magic. In a meta with less negatives

                                                                                                        Small World, when it enters the game, will make this deck play much more consistently. But what's needed to make Madolche truly meta instead of a truly powerful rogue is a better ability to overcome negates from an open field. The Master Duel meta revolves around negates, and Madolche sets himself up as a pair, but relies on bait and staples to overcome them.

                                                                                                        Once they were set up though, I saw Madolche burn through a Herald of Ultimateness with 4-5 negs on Turn3 and then combo up to wipe out the field
