Branded Play Guide

Branded Play Guide

With the help of Giffith (Fallen of White Dragon - aka straightforward deck), the deck has become viable without needing Braindead Fusion. In fact, even starting without Braindead Fusion yields a much stronger board.

Two new Supports provide additional resource recovery, better mobility, and heavier disruption, including:
A boss monster that is unaffectable, recovers resources, and searches (The Dragon that Devours the Dogma)
and one that recovers resources, enables super wide extensions, disrupts effectively, and is easier to get out (Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon)

because these count as 1, you can only run a maximum of 3 copies of both of these cards combined

usually it will be x2 Fallen of the White Dragon and 1 Fallen of Albaz

Fallen of Albaz : has the ability to discard 1 card when Summoned and Fusion Summon using this monster alone on your field and as many monsters on your opponent's field as needed, as long as they meet the Fusion requirements of the monster you want to Summon

Fallen of White Dragon : one-card combo, sends a monster from the Extra Deck to Special Summon itself, plus the resources are insanely good; once it reaches the field, it also pulls its wife from the Deck (Ecclesia), hand, or GY; you can continuously pull Dogmatika Ecclesia from the GY to the field to search for cards

search spell/trap Branded, search allows for a deck combo with this card

has the ability to self-resurrect from the grave and negate 1 enemy effect if your fused monster is destroyed by battle or sent out by enemy effects, while discarding 1 disruption of the opponent and having 1 body acting as a shield to survive death

however, you can only use 1 effect of this card at a time!

Just viewing itself as Dogmatika and Despia, so many cards can interact with it (search, draw from deck to field,...) This is a Level 4 Tuner, sometimes can be used to go up to Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon has the ability to send 1 Fallen of Albaz or 1 card related to it from the deck to the graveyard (aka original deck) if a card leaves the Extra Deck (opp summons monster from extra deck, banishes card from extra deck, banish,...) then you can draw 1 Fallen of Albaz or 1 monster related to it from the graveyard to the field, removing this copy.

Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous

has the ability to jump if you are controlling Fallen of Albaz on the field or under the grave in the main phase, produces 1 fusion monster of Level 8 or higher from the Extra Deck, using monsters in hand or on the field (can be used to block a target or send a monster with an under-the-grave effect, can be used to send Mirrorjade to the grave and then bring it back onto the field because Mirrorjade is a one-per-turn flexible effect)

has the ability to fuse for a quick effect in the main phase, producing 1 fusion monster of Level 8 or higher from the Extra Deck, using monsters in hand or on the field (can be used to block a target or send a monster with an under-the-grave effect, can be used to send Mirrorjade to the grave and then bring it back onto the field because Mirrorjade is a one-per-turn flexible effect)

has the ability to revive itself from the grave to the hand if a fusion monster has been sent to the grave this turn !

has the ability to sacrifice itself to bring Fallen of Albaz either from the deck or from your hand onto the field, can disrupt the opponent's turn, or do a one-card combo on your turn, you can also bring Dogmatika Ecclesia thanks to White Dragon pulling it

has the ability to self-draw back to the end of the turn from the graveyard to your hand, if there is a fusion material sent to the graveyard during this turn

Bystial Saronir Type 2 Field Spell

but unlike Saronir which doesn't banish a card to jump, itself is Fallen of Albaz when on the field or grave to provide material fusion

it also has the ability to send Branded Spell/Trap from the deck to the grave like Saronir but with an additional draw 1 bonus, and also has the ability to jump by itself if sent from hand

besides, it can also send Fallen of Albaz, so it can be drawn into a combo

Dimensional Fissure? Whenever you banish this card, it will have Fallen of Albaz or 1 card related to it!

It has the ability to send itself from hand or field to graveyard and block activation of enemy monster effects, if you are controlling a fusion monster related to Fallen of Albaz as material

if this card is banished, you can search 1 Fallen of Albaz or 1 card related to it, you can actively banish this card search one card combo and use Branded Sword extract for disruption

Back then, there was no obsession with men, so it has no connection to Fallen of Albaz in its name or effect.

When this card is sent to the GY, you can add 1 Tri-Brigade monster, 1 Springans monster, or 1 "Fallen of Albaz" card or supporting monster from your Deck to your Hand; this allows you to retrieve boss monsters, disruptors, gain resources, revive monsters, etc.,

And since this card has the name "Fallen of Albaz", there are many other cards that can interact with it.

This card is a Level 4 Tuner, so it can be used for Synchro Summon. There are plenty of LIGHT Spellcaster monsters in the deck, all of which are forms of Ecclesia.

Special Summons itself from your hand if you have a Fusion Monster related to Fallen of Albaz in your hand or GY.

When Summoned, you can add 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand, or return cards from your GY or banished zone to your hand, then you must send 1 card from your hand to the bottom of your Deck.

Having both search and recovery effects is pretty solid, but sending a card from your hand to the bottom of your Deck is quite frustrating, as you are sometimes forced to send cards that you actually need, so I cut the copies of this card, since the deck already has plenty of search and recovery options anyway.

If running a standard 40-card deck, it's optional to include.

These banish an opponent's LIGHT or DARK monster to special summon from the hand (this acts as a Quick Effect if the opponent controls a monster).

Magnamhut: Searches any Dragon monster; can be run in various Dragon decks, and naturally searches for Fallen of Albaz.

Saronir: Acts as a Shrouded Dragon with banishing, but lacks self-recycling; unlike Shrouded Dragon which sends Albaz and a Branded Spell/Trap, this one sends Bystial monsters or Branded Spell/Traps.

Branded in High Spirits

Branded in High Spirits

not only searches for one card combo but also gains a ton of resources and recovers itself, so since it's a Quick-Play Spell, it can be activated during the Draw Phase and such, absolute peak

show 1 monster you control to your opponent, then send 1 Level 8 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck to the GY with the same Type as the monster shown. The sent Fusion Monster must have 2500 ATK or DEF.

after that, you can activate this effect: discard the monster your opponent viewed, then search Fallen of Albaz or cards related to it from your Deck to your Hand.

if a Fusion Monster was sent to the GY this turn, you can add this card from the GY to your Hand at the end of the turn.

you can only use 1 effect of this card per turn. The search effect does not recover itself, and the recovery effect does not search (otherwise it would be extremely broken: picking it up from the GY at the End Phase and activating it immediately as a Quick-Play Spell would be way too game-breaking).

The Fallen & The Virtuous

Extremely spammy and sweaty, easy to use, provides no lockdown, highly versatile, offers resource accumulation, deck recovery, blah blah

Consistently considered a Branded and Dogmatika staple, so there are countless cards that can search for this one

Select one of the following two effects to activate, and you can only activate one of these effects per turn

+ Send 1 Albaz-related monster from your Extra Deck to the GY, choose 1 face-up card on the field, and destroy it (Sending a monster to the GY allows you to activate its GY effect to maximize resource advantage, while also functioning as a form of resource denial)

+ If you have any Ecclesia monster in your GY or on the field, you can Special Summon 1 monster from either player's GY to the field (any monster works, including floodgate-types; spam players can send Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon to the GY to utilize its GY effect for retrieving a monster if necessary)

It's fine to add 0 cards since right now starting with a few other cards is even stronger than Branded Fusion, lmao

 Note: this card locks Fusion

Perform a Fusion Summon by using materials from your Hand, Field, or Deck. You can use 2 monsters from the Deck, and those monsters will have effects while they are in the Graveyard and generate tons of resources thanks to this, which is why it locks Fusion

You can only activate 1 of this card per turn.

Being locked means you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck after activating this card, but ... who cares?

Before this card locks, you can still perform standard Extra Deck combos freely, then activate this card at the very end to massively boost your resources

Also, this card functions as a single-card combo for the deck

Send 1 monster from the Extra Deck to the Graveyard; any monster will do, so it can be used to fulfill other cards' costs, and most of them are Stun monsters

Then search 1 Dogmatika monster or Fallen of Albaz from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, with an ATK less than or equal to the monster sent to the Graveyard

It simultaneously searches cards, recovers monsters, and sends Extra Deck monsters to the Graveyard to activate their When Sent to the Graveyard effects.

The higher the power, the higher the brick risk

Draw 1 Despia or Fallen of Albaz from the GY to your hand, then Fusion Summon any Level 8 monster, as long as you banish monsters from your hand or field (does not strictly require Fallen of Albaz or a Despia monster)

Can be used to extend combos or played during the opponent's turn, but due to its brick risk, and given the abundance of options for the opponent's turn now, I cut extra copies of this card to fit exactly 40 cards.

While controlling backrow, if a monster, Spell/Trap activates an effect that includes Special Summoning a monster, you can Special Summon up to 2 Fusion monsters from the GY (or 1 Fusion monster on the field) related to Fallen of Albaz from the GY, and if you do, negate the activation and destroy that card.

Furthermore, this card can also be banished from your GY to Special Summon 1 Branded Spell/Trap from your GY to your hand.

Just one Counter Trap card lets you Special Summon up to 3 cards, plus it also has negate and destroy effects.

However, you can only use 1 of this card's effects once per turn, and only once during that turn.

primarily focuses on retrieving one monster related to Fallen of Albaz that was banished back to hand, even if it bricks when in hand, it can combo with Saronir or Shrouded Dragon

specifically, perform a Fusion Summon using Branded Fusion so that one of those two cards goes to the GY and Fallen of White Dragon (one of our combo cards), with both cards able to send Branded Sword,  and Branded Sword returning the Fallen of White Dragon that was banished to hand (via the effect of Albion the Branded Dragon)

Fusion Summon it easily, only requires 1 Fallen of Albaz and 1 LIGHT monster

if Fusion Summoned, you can Fusion Summon 1 additional Fusion Monster Level 8 or lower from your Extra Deck (excluding copies of this card) by banishing materials from your hand, field, or Graveyard (which lets you combine it with Branded Sword to restore your one-card combo)

if this card is sent to the Graveyard this turn: you can add 1 Branded Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, or place it face-up directly from your Deck onto the Field (this effect is primarily used for deck searching)

Fusion Material requirement: 3 monsters, Fallen of Albaz, 1 LIGHT or DARK monster, and 1 monster with an effect. If you Super Polymerize or use the effect of Fallen of Albaz, you can treat up to 2 of your opponent's monsters as Fusion Material for this card, while in a mirror match, if you're lucky enough to Super Polymerize as many as 3 monsters (though nobody actually keeps Fallen of Albaz in their Side Deck anyway, lmao).

Blazing Cartesia + 1 LIGHT or DARK

easy to play, capable of sending a Level 6 LIGHT or DARK monster from your Main Deck or Extra Deck to the GY, helping you extend your combo (Branded Sword) or send additional disruption, bounce, or resource generation to the GY (depending on which card you send)

can banish from the field or GY to directly Special Summon a Dogmatika monster from your Main Deck or a Despia monster from the Extra Deck. You can also pull additional disruption from the Extra Deck, but if your Extra Deck is packed, you can instead grab Guiding Quem or Dogmatika Ecclesia from your Main Deck to generate more resources or secure an advantage for your next turn.

Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon

Summoning is extremely easy, as materials can sometimes include your opponent's key monsters.

You can only control one copy of this card at a time!

Quick Effect: Send 1 Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck to the GY whose listed materials include "Fallen of Albaz", and banish 1 face-up monster on the field (yours or your opponent's; does not target).

However, if you use that effect, you cannot use it again next turn. This card, however, has a soft once per turn limit. If it leaves the field and returns to the field, you can send a monster and banish another monster one more time!

If this monster, while used as Fusion Material on your field, is sent away from the field by an opponent's card effect: You can destroy all your opponent's monsters at the End Phase of that turn (activates upon being sent away, but resolves at the End Phase).

Titaniklad the Ash Dragon (x1)

Gains ATK equal to the combined Levels of its Fusion Materials × 100. It can pass through unaffected by hand traps; additionally, this card is immune to the activated effects of monsters summoned from the Extra Deck, on the exact turn this card was Fusion Summoned (and while Spell/Trap Cards and monsters from the Main Deck can still easily handle this card, lmao)

It mainly activates its effect on the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard. During your End Phase, Special Summon 1 Fallen of Albaz or a "Dogmatika" monster from your Deck, or send one to your hand (depending on whether you draw into a Droll or Maxx "C", you can automatically adjust your plays; sometimes if it bricks too hard, this card can also retrieve Fallen of White Dragon, then it pulls both Ecclesias to survive until the opponent's turn)

This card itself also has 1 negation effect and 1 card push (2 disruption effects)

Banishes itself from the Graveyard to Special Summon Fallen of Albaz from the Graveyard, or summons itself to the field (if properly summoned), providing disruption or additional resources (depending on which Fallen of Albaz you retrieve)

Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon

Super easy to synchro, can be used to support a ton of decks that spam Level 8 Synchro monsters, or use Fallen of Albaz as a disrupt tool

This card has a Quick Effect during Main Phase that banishes itself until the end of the turn, and retrieves 1 Fallen of Albaz or 1 Level 4 or lower monster related to Fallen of Albaz from your Deck or GY. You can search, recycle, disrupt, or continuously search for cards.

If this card is in the GY, it both disrupts, recycles, and recovers itself. A Level 8 Fusion Monster in the GY will often get banished, and you can send 1 monster on the field back to the Deck (crazy, an effect that sends up to 3 cards to the Deck).

Retrieves cards back to the Deck (from the Field, Graveyard, or Banished zone) for the cost of discarding 1 card. Also very peak for Fusion Summoning, unfortunately it's locked out of Fusion, and this card cannot attack (so sometimes it's used directly as a Fusion Material)

Has no Graveyard effect. Sometimes Fallen of Albaz attaching an opponent's DARK monster to this one is actually pretty decent, but if you want to perform another Fusion, you'd have to discard an additional card, making it 2 cards total

Set "Albaz", response?

Note: If you do not control monsters and your opponent controls Fallen of Albaz and Dragons on the field, you can use Fallen of Albaz and all of your opponent's Dragons to summon this (even if you do not control Fallen of Albaz or Dragons on the field)

and the same goes the other way around: your opponent can also summon this to clear your field even if they do not control anything themselves, so an end board featuring Dragons typically will not have Fallen of Albaz on the field

Its materials are Fallen of Albaz and 1 Dragon or more; generally, using all Dragons on the field works. This card can be Fusion Summoned or Special Summoned by sending all required materials from the field (both players') to the GY. Since Fusion monsters can send their materials face-down, simply setting Albaz is sufficient; the opponent cannot target your face-up cards.

Sometimes you can summon this card yourself to send Effect Dragons you control on your field to the GY, both removing Fallen of Albaz from the field so the opponent cannot exploit its vulnerability, and triggering its effect, for example, by sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the GY.

additionally when this card is in your Graveyard you can tribute up to 4 monsters, 2 in the Extra Monster Zone and 2 in the Main Monster Zone (yeah conditions are like normal, but activating it feels amazing (or not))

can be summoned by Granguignol the Dusk Dragon

Despian Quaeritis: reduces the ATK of all non-Fusion Level 8 monsters to 0, keeping you safer during the Battle Phase (however, this effect can only be activated during the Main Phase, so opponents might fake ending their Main Phase to bait you)

when sent from the field due to your opponent's effect, you can search for or Special Summon directly from your Deck 1  Despia or Fallen of Albaz

Despian Proskenion: Quick Effect activated during your Main Phase to target 1 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link monster your opponent controls; Special Summon it to your field. Particularly useful if it targets one with disrupt or negate capabilities (or you can simply banish that monster to get rid of it). Provides Burn damage potential after battle destruction to close out the game, boasting incredibly massive stats.

If you include those handtraps, holding them alongside Branded In High Spirits won't leave you bricked and you'll still be able to run your combo, whereas stuffing random useless handtraps when you're bricked makes recovery very difficult.
