Overview & gameplay

Mayakashi is a deck of cards with the gameplay of summoning bosses by leveling up. The deck's Tuner can continuously rise from the grave to help you summon synchro combos. When the boss is destroyed, the Mayakashi will lose their level, synchro Mayakashi monsters will be summoned from the grave if a higher level monster is destroyed. Additionally when Mayakashi synchro monsters are summoned from the grave, each monster can activate its own effect.

Core

Dakki the Graceful Mayakashi (x2)

You can only control 1 "Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi".

When a "Mayakashi" monster(s) is Special Summoned to your field from the Extra Deck , while this card is in the GY (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card .

You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect, except "Mayakashi" monsters.

Dakki is Mayakashi's main tuner monster.

Dakki can be re-summoned from the grave when you special summon a Mayakashi monster from your extra deck. However, in return, during that turn, you are only allowed to special summon the Mayakashi monster from the extra deck.

With the ability to summon from the grave an unlimited number of times per turn, Dakki helps you spam Mayakashi monsters continuously in one turn and reach the boss very easily.

Yuki-Musume the Ice Mayakashi (x3)

(first)

If you control a "Mayakashi" card , other than "Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi" while this card is in your hand or GY : You can Special Summon this card , then send 1 Zombie monster from your Deck to the GY .

You can only use this effect of "Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi" once per turn.

You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except "Mayakashi" monsters.

Yuki-Musume can be special summoned from the grave or in your hand if you have Mayakashi monsters, spells, or traps on the field. After summoning, you must send 1 zombie monster from the deck to the grave.

Summoning Yuki-Musume without consuming your normal summon will make your combos easier when you have Dakki available on the field.

The effect of sending an unlimited zombie monster, Mayakashi, from the deck to the grave makes Mayakashi able to synergize well with other zombie monsters such as the Shiranui clan.

Mayakashi Return (x3)

(first)

Take 1 "Mayakashi" card from your Deck, except "Mayakashi Return", and either add it to your hand or send it to the GY .

You can only activate 1 "Mayakashi Return" per turn.

Mayakashi Return allows you to get any Mayakashi combo (monster, spell, trap) piece into your hand or send them to the grave. This is a card that helps Mayakashi increase connectivity and is easy to activate without requiring any additional conditions.

Mayakashi Winter (x2-3)

(first)

Monsters your opponent controls lose 100 ATK/DEF for each "Mayakashi" monster with a different name in your GY.

You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Mayakashi Winter" per turn, and only once that turn.

● Send this card and 1 "Mayakashi" monster you control to the GY ; draw 1 card .

(3)

● Banish this card and 1 Zombie monster from your GY, then target 1 "Mayakashi" monster in your GY; Special Summon it .

You can only use 1 of 2 effects (2) or (3) of Mayakashi Winter during the turn.

You can send this card on the field and Yuki-Musume or Dakki go to the Graveyard to draw 1 more card. Because the two monsters Dakki and Yuki-Musume can both be summoned from the grave, you will not incur losses when using this effect.

If this card is in the grave, you can banish this card and 1 other zombie monster to revive any Mayakashi monster from the grave. Mayakashi Return can send Mayakashi Winter from the deck to the grave very easily, allowing you to perform this effect at any time. The cost of this effect is not limited to banishing only Mayakashi monsters so you can banish other unnecessary zombie monsters.

Mayakashi Winter while on the field reduces attack and defense by 100 for each Mayakashi monster in your grave.

Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi, Yoko and the Graceful Mayakashi (x1)

Tengu

You can only control 1 "Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi".

You can only use each of these effects of "Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi" once per turn.

● If a Synchro Monster in your possession whose original Level is 9 is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect while this card is in the GY: You can banish 1 other Zombie monster from your GY, and if you do, Special Summon this card.

(3)

● If this card is Special Summoned from the GY: You can destroy 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls.

Yoko

1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters

You can only control 1 "Yoko, the Graceful Mayakashi".

You can only use each of these effects of "Yoko, the Graceful Mayakashi" once per turn.

(2)

● If a Synchro Monster in your possession whose original Level is 11 is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect while this card is in the GY: You can banish 1 other Zombie monster from your GY, and if you do, Special Summon this card.

(3)

● If this card is Special Summoned from the GY: You can destroy 1 monster your opponent controls.

Tsuchigumo, the Poisonous Mayakashi, Oboro-Guruma and the Wheeled Mayakashi (x1)

After Mayakashi synchro monsters are summoned from the grave, they can activate the following effects:

Oboro-Guruma (level 3): during this turn, this monster cannot be destroyed by battle.
Tsuchigumo (level 5): each player sends 3 cards from the top of the pile to the grave.
Tengu (level 7): shoots 1 spell, the enemy's trap does not target.
Yoko (level 9): shoots 1 opponent's monster without targeting.

How to play

Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi, Yoko and the Graceful Mayakashi (Win condition)

Mayakashi's gameplay is to continuously synchro summon Mayakashi monsters by looping Dakki .

Oboro-Guruma is the lowest level Mayakashi synchro monster (summoned with Dakki and Yuki-Musume ). Then from Oboro-Guruma , Mayakashi monsters will level up from 3 to 5, 7, 9 thanks to Dakki 's effect of continuously jumping back onto the field.

As a result, your final field will have 1 Yoko with 2900 field turret ATK and 1 Dakki that can be used as a cost for trap cards to disrupt the opponent.

In your grave there are 3 Mayakashi monsters that can be revived: Tengu , Tsuchigumo and Oboro-Guruma .

If the opponent destroys your Yoko , Tengu will be able to revive and at the same time activate the enemy's spell and trap effect.
If your Tengu continues to be defeated, Tsuchigumo will be raised from the grave. Tsuchigumo 's effect helps you send necessary cards to the grave for the next turn such as Yuki-Musume , Mayakashi Winter . However, you need to consider when using this effect because it will also affect the opponent. Sending 3 cards from the top of the deck to the grave will create an advantage for some other decks.
Oboro-Guruma is the last monster summoned after Tsuchigumo is destroyed, and no more monsters can be summoned again after Oboro-Guruma is destroyed. The ability to not be destroyed by battle in 1 turn can help you survive somewhat during the opponent's turn.

Summary : Find a way to summon Yoko and summon the Mayakashi from the grave when Yoko is destroyed to help you stay on the field.

Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi, Mayakashi Return, Yuki-Musume and the Ice Mayakashi (Combo of 2 cards)

Cards in hand: 2 of 3 cards Dakki, Yuki-Musume, Mayakashi Return .

To perform this combo, you need 2 monsters in your hand: Dakki and Yuki-Musume . Mayakashi Return will help you add the remaining monster to your hand. Yuki-Musume can be summoned from the grave so it does not need to be in hand.

Normal summon Dakki .
Special Summon Yuki-Musume from hand or grave. Note that to summon Yuki-Musume , your deck must have a zombie monster for Yuki-Musume to send to the grave.
Synchro summon Oboro-Guruma with Dakki and Yuki-Musume .
Grave Dakki can activate the effect when a Mayakashi monster is summoned from the extra deck. Special summon Dakki to the field again.
Since Dakki 's effect has an unlimited number of activations per turn, you can continue to resummon Dakki after synchro summoning Tsuchigumo with Dakki and Oboro-Guruma .
Continue using Dakki and Tsuchigumo to summon Tengu and finally use Dakki and Tengu to summon Yoko .
After summoning Yoko , Dakki can return to the field one more time.

End combo: 1 Yoko and 1 Dakki on the field. In the grave there is 1 Yuki-Musume , 1 Oboro-Guruma , 1 Tsuchigumo and 1 Tengu .

Tip

Shafu , when summoned, can revive 1 Mayakashi monster from your grave, that monster's effects are negated. Using Shafu to summon Dakki from the grave can help you continue your combo.
Yoko and other Mayakashi monsters can be re-summoned from the grave by removing Mayakashi Winter and 1 other zombie monster from the grave. Mayakashi Return can help you send Mayakashi from your deck to the grave or send any Mayakashi monster you need to the grave.
Using Metamorphosis can help you summon Mayakashi monsters from the grave or that have been discarded by discarding 1 card from your hand. Because this is a trap card, you can suddenly activate and summon Tengu and Yoko to the field and use their effects to destroy the opponent's field.
Yasha is a monster that can be summoned to the field from the hand. Summoning this monster gives your field a body of 2000 ATK and also helps your Yuki-Musume to activate effects more easily, Yasha helps you summon Synchro 7 faster.

Combined with Shiranui

Shiranui Solitaire (Key)

You can Tribute 1 Zombie monster; Special Summon 1 Zombie Tuner with 0 DEF from your Deck.

(2)

If this card is banished: You can target 1 of your banished "Shiranui" monsters, except "Shiranui Solitaire", or up to 2 instead if "Shiranui Style Synthesis" is on the field; Special Summon them.

You can only use each effect of "Shiranui Solitaire" once per turn.

Shiranui Spectralsword (Supports synchro summoning)

If this card is in your GY, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can target 1 non-Tuner Zombie monster in your GY; banish both it and this card , and if you do, Special Summon 1 Zombie Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck whose Level equals the total Levels those 2 monsters had .

You can only use this effect of "Shiranui Spectralsword" once per turn.

Spectralsword can help you summon a synchro zombie monster by removing the necessary monsters from the Graveyard.

You cannot use Spectralsword 's effects during the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard. Use Yuki-Musume to send this monster to the Graveyard during a combo.

In later turns, after you have used up all of Mayakashi's resources, you can continue the combo with Spectralsword .

Ghost Meets Girl - A Shiranui's Story (Key)

(first)

If your opponent controls a monster : Discard 1 Zombie monster ; Special Summon 1 "Shiranui" monster with a different name from your Deck or GY , also you cannot Special Summon monsters, except Zombie monsters, for the rest of this turn after this card resolves .

You can only activate 1 "Ghost Meets Girl - A Shiranui's Story" per turn.

A Shiranui's Story makes your deck more cohesive as this card can summon Solitaire straight from the deck.

This is a quick-play spell so you can summon Spectralsword with this card during your opponent's turn to be ready to use this monster's effect on your next turn.

The weakness of A Shiranui's Story is that it will be difficult for you to use this card if you go turn 1 because this card requires your opponent to control monsters on the field.

Shiranui Samuraisaga (The beast that guards the yard)

1 Zombie-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Zombie-Type monsters

(first)

Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 of your banished Zombie-Type monsters; shuffle it into the Deck , and if you do, change to Defense Position all monsters your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to that monster's.

(2)

If this card is banished: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; it loses 500 ATK.

You can only Special Summon "Shiranui Samuraisaga(s)" once per turn.

Samuraisaga has the effect (1) that makes it impossible for the opponent to kill you easily through battle. Use Samuraisaga to return Mayakashi monsters like Tengu and Yoko to the extra deck so you can call them out again in future turns.

Shiranui Squiresaga (Boss)

1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters

You can only Special Summon "Shiranui Squiresaga(s)" once per turn.

(first)

Once per turn: You can banish 1 face-up monster you control or in your GY , then apply these effects, in sequence, depending on what the monster was before it was banished, if it was any of these.

● Zombie: You can have all monsters you control gain 300 ATK.

● FIRE: You can destroy 1 Spell/Trap on the field .

● Synchro: You can destroy 1 monster on the field .

Each turn, Squiresaga can remove 1 monster from the Graveyard and apply effects corresponding to the nature of the removed monster.

Removing synchro Mayakashi monsters or Shiranui monsters can satisfy all 2 effects of Squiresaga .
Removing Yoko or synchro Shiranui monsters can satisfy all three effects.

Furthermore, when Shiranui monsters are removed, they can continue to activate other unique effects.

Shiranui Shogunsaga (Boss)

1 Zombie-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Zombie-Type monsters

(first)

If this card is Special Summoned : You can banish 1 Zombie-Type monster from your Graveyard; this card gains ATK equal to the banished monster's original ATK , until the end of this turn.

(2)

If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished Zombie-Type monsters with 0 DEF; return it to the Graveyard.

You can only Special Summon "Shiranui Shogunsaga(s)" once per turn.

Shogunsaga is a monster that helps you quickly otk opponents by eliminating monsters with high ATK like Yoko and Tengu . Samuraisaga or Metamorphosis can return discarded monsters to the field or graveyard if you are unable to otk your opponent with Shogunsaga .

Other supports

Nine-Tailed Fox (Support)

(first)

If this card is in your hand or GY : You can Tribute 2 monsters ; Special Summon this card .

You can only use this effect of "Nine-Tailed Fox" once per turn.

(2)

If this card that was Special Summoned from the GY attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage.

(3)

If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 2 "Fox Tokens" (Zombie/FIRE/Level 2/ATK 500/DEF 500).

Nine-Tailed Fox can be sent to the grave using Yuki-Musume 's effect.

This monster can be summoned from the grave, so it will be a key monster in the mid and late stages of the game, when you have run out of extra deck resources.

Spectralsword can be removed along with this monster to summon Shogunsaga .

Samurai Skull and Gozuki (Support)

Gozuki and Samurai Skull are two good support monsters for zombie decks that can help you send a zombie monster from the deck to the grave.

Boost Warrior (Support)

Boost Warrior can be summoned from your hand when you control Dakki , this monster can replace Yuki-Musume in some cases.

Ballista Squad (Support)

Normally, at the end of the combo, your field will have 1 extra Dakki . You can Ballista Squad to sacrifice this Dakki and destroy 1 opponent's card.

Oasis of Dragon Souls and Super Team Buddy Force Unite! (Support)

Super Team Buddy Force Unite! and Oasis of Dragon Souls can be flipped unexpectedly during your opponent's turn. Summon Yoko, Tengu with this effect, you can activate their effects to break the opponent's combo.

See You Later! (Skill Card) (Skill suggestion)

See You Later!

Can be used when your Life Points decrease by 1500.

Select 1 monster you control and which you are the original owner of. Return the selected monster to the hand.

This Skill can only be used once per Duel.

Yuki-Musume is a Gozuki that does not cost a normal summon during your turn, however Yuki-Musume has an effect that prevents you from summoning another monster Mayakashi from the extra deck while this monster is still on the field.

You can use Yuki-Musume to send a suitable monster to the Graveyard to combo with Spectralsword . Skill: See You Later! Helps you push Yuki-Musume back to your hand and you will be able to summon other Shiranui monsters.
