Instructions for playing Metalfoes

Instructions for playing Metalfoes

1 Deck was released a long time ago, was on the tier for a while but then died out quite quickly due to the changing meta times. But this is a deck that is not weak, even comparable to decks on the current tier. Recently in the new box "Braver Victory" we have added a new support for Metalfoes, can this one card alone bring glory back to Metalfoes??

One of the few strong Pendulum decks that still exists in Duel Links. The ability to complete Fusion and draw, in addition to quick fusion right on the opponent's turn. Metalfoes monsters have similar abilities and can set Fusion Spells very easily. Other strong points are negate and equip, just like a certain monster with many yellow eyes that recently got support :v

Any skill gives us 1 card on the field, this helps us activate the effects of Metalfoes cards: destroy and set spell/trap

I will use this card to represent Satorius Kumar's skill :v

Similar to the above skills, it gives us a free field spell on the field, but the special thing is that it will set face down, avoiding some of the opponent's face-up destruction effects.

The Metalfoes

The monsters on this Metalfoes Main Deck are all Normal monsters with the same Pendulum effect. They can destroy any other face-up cards you have on the field so you can get Spell/Trap Metalfoes from the deck.

A quick and easy way to remember them:

  • Goldriver and Silverd are low Scale monsters (scale 1) and they are low level monsters with decent ATK.
  • Steelen and Volflame are high Scales (scale 8). Steelen has 0 ATK, while Volflame is Level 7 with decent ATK.

Since Pendulum monsters will move to the Extra deck when destroyed, you can use their Pendulum effect to destroy your monsters to get "Metalfoes Fusion", then Pendulum Summon the destroyed monster back. back on the field.

With 2 Metalfoes on the field, you can fuse into any Metalfoes Fusion monster using "Metalfoes Fusion" searched from the Pendulum effect.

  • Mithrilium allows you to restore Metalfoes in your graveyard and has the ability to discard cards + effects after leaving the field.
  • Alkahest has a monster removal effect (Quick Effect).
  • Orichalc has 2800 ATK with piercing and destroying effects if it is destroyed.

The card is more special than other Metalfoes in that it is an Eff monster, with Monster effects. Quite important and often brought x3 into the deck like other Metalfoes.

It has a search effect at the end of the turn (including its own copy). So we should focus on destroying it while it is on the field.

Metalfoes Fusion (x1)

Metalfoes Fusion

The core card of the deck allows you to summon Boss Monsters and it is quite easy to use because all Metalfoes fusion monsters can use any Metalfoes monster. After use, you can activate it right in the grave to draw more cards.

You can search this card very easily using any of Metalfoes' Pendulum effects, so just x1 of this card is fine, but having x2 can help increase the odds of getting it without having to destroy the card. you control and is safer in case one of the Metalfoes gets banned.

Remember that using monsters from your hand will send your Pendulum Metalfoes monster to the grave, while using monsters on your field will send them to the Extra deck. This matters depending on what you plan to do next. Hamster or Pendulum Paradox will return them to Extra, while Mithrilium requires monsters in your grave.

Fullmetalfoes Fusion (x1)

Fullmetalfoes Fusion

A pretty good Metalfoes Quick Spell Fusion. You can use this card to Fusion Summon "Fullmetalfoes Alkahest" during your opponent's turn or escape hindering backrows like Floodgate Trap Hole.

Pretty good cards to search for if you want to play defensively. This search will make it obvious to your opponent though, which can be a problem if your opponent uses something like Cosmic Cyclone.

Its graveside effect simply helps you recover any cards from the extra deck. It will be useful if you need another monster to attack on the field by restoring Goldriver or placing another Scale so you can Pendulum Summon.

Rescue Rabbit (x3)
UR rarity
Rescue Rabbit

Rescue Rabbit

A good tool to start the turn as it can special summon monsters from your deck or potentially force your opponent to use backrow to prevent this.

Although there aren't any combos to summon any monsters, Goldriver is probably the best one to use as it has decent ATK, which you can potentially summon back Pendulum after using to Fusion/ Xyz.

Rescue Hamster (x1)

Pendulum's effect is good for regaining some resources and it's a great next step after using Rabbit's effect, but it can only be used once per match.

Beast effects work somewhat similarly to Rabbit, but with a slight limitation. You can still turn 1play with this card if you have any 2 Metalfoes monsters in your hand, just place them both in Scale and activate one of their Pendulum effects to destroy the other monster so it can move. Go to Extra deck.

Remember that Volflame is level 7, which means you should not destroy Volflame if you want to use Hamster's on-field effect.

Metalfoes Mithrilium (x2)

Metalfoes Mithrilium

Metalfoes Mithrilium

A fairly versatile monster to use as it has high ATK, monster removal, recovery from GY, and post-death effects.

However, it can be quite complicated because cards mostly only go to the graveyard if you cast Fusion using monsters in your hand. Mithrilium can also Recycle Spells/Traps as part of the cost, but it's better to use Fusion in the Graveyard to draw more cards instead.

Fullmetalfoes Alkahest (x2)
SR rarity
Fullmetalfoes Alkahest

Fullmetalfoes Alkahest

A pretty good monster to bring out if you take the first turn. Metalfoes Counter and Alkahest on the field are the best defense this deck can offer if it goes turn 1. Just make sure to always summon this card for defense as it cannot increase any ATK.

Its ability to drain monsters during your opponent's turn is a quick effect, making it a very good disruptor. Monsters equipped with it can then be used for Metalfoes Fusion or destroyed with any Metalfoes monster's Pendulum effect for Fusion/Counter. (Quite similar to Millennium Eyes dko :D)

Metalfoes Orichalc (x3)

High ATK with piercing effect helps deal damage. This might work better if you also pair it with cards to turn your opponent's monsters to defense like Windstorm of Etaqua, Book of Moon, Paleozoic Canadia, etc.

Works well against opponents with only 1 monster on the field. Even better if it's an XYZ monster as it will remove all of their materials, or if it's a monster say it can't be special summoned in the cardtext.

Since all Metalfoes have the FIRE attribute, you can reserve slots for the Aleister Engine to summon Purgatrio. It's a pretty strong boss that can attack all monsters your opponent controls and has the ability to penetrate. Aleister itself can also be a good support tool as it increases the ATK of all fusion monsters, including Metalfoes fusion monsters.

But devoting slots to Purgratrio can be quite difficult to think about because we will want to save spots in the Extra Deck for other Metalfoes Fusions. It is also likely to be bricked if you happen to use a variety of normal support monsters like Rabbit or Hamster.

Lite version replaces Rabbit, however it is quite ineffective because it can only summon 1 normal monster and only if you have no monsters on the field

Pendulum Paradox (.)

Pendulum Paradox

Works quite similar to Hamster to recover Pendulum cards from Extradeck, but it probably won't be easy because we need those monsters to have different names. You will need to have up to 2 Metalfoes monsters scale 1 to 8 with different names in the extra deck.

Flash Fusion (.)

It can be quite good to be able to attack with your monster before fusion. Both Mithrilium or Orichalc also have an effect after being sent to the grave, and it will be activated by the effect of Flash Fusion.

You can also use this during your opponent's turn to summon Alkahest and can control your opponent's monster.
