Instructions for playing Nekroz

Instructions for playing Nekroz

One of the strongest Ritual decks in Duellinks. When World Arc-V was released, this deck became very strong with a series of new supports, but it also suffered from attacks and Limits on some cards. However, this is still a deck worth playing and is among the Top decks according to statistics.

Nekroz is a deck that is not cheap to build completely, revolving around the Nekroz Ritual monsters. Nekroz Warrior monsters will often be summoned to the field like Big Bosses, while Nekroz Spellcasters will stay in the hand and perform their quick effects similar to hand traps.

The weakness of the deck is that it is quite fragile when facing backrows and the attack is not too large, but in return the ability to remove is very strong. Although we are weak when faced with too many backrows, we no longer have slots for tech cards like MST to clear the back deck because most of them are used for the deck's cores.

Overall rating: 7.5/10

Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1000. Return 1 card from your hand to your Deck and choose 1 of the following: ● Add 1 random Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand. ● Add 1 random Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. This Skill can only be used twice per Duel.

It would be quite reasonable for a Ritual Deck to carry this skill. After receiving -1000 LP, we can exchange 1 card in our hand to get 1 ritual monster or 1 ritual spell. But this is quite random because sometimes we cannot get the leaves we want.

This skill can be used up to 2 times in 1 Duel hehe :)))

Begin Duel with the Continuous Spell 'Ritual Cage' activated.

This skill is less used than the other two skills, but it is not a waste. Having a Ritual Cage protects our ritual monsters from Monster Effects while our Boss monsters are all Ritual monsters.

Sometimes when encountering odds like Relinquished, this skill will be the thing that saves your duel =))

Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1500. In the Draw Phase, instead of doing a normal draw, draw a random LIGHT-attribute monster.

Another skill is also very useful, used as much as Master of Rites 1. As we can see, our deck does not have any Light-type monsters at all, so when we activate the skill, the card we will draw is definitely Senju (a pro searcher of Ritual decks), and from there we can make play

You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell. Must be Ritual Summoned, without using "Nekroz of Brionac". You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Brionac" once per turn. ● You can discard this card; add 1 "Nekroz" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Nekroz of Brionac". ● You can target up to 2 face-up monsters on the field that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck; shuffle them into the Deck.

This is an important searcher for any Nekroz monster:

  • Valkyrus is usually a safe choice to search because of its powerful effect to end the Battle Phase.
  • If you already have Cycle/Mirror, look for Shurit.
  • If Shurit and 1 Ritual Spell are in hand; Gungnir is good if you turn 1, while Trishula is good if you can activate it.
  • If you already have a Nekroz monster on the field; Decisive Armor increases its ATK, Gungnir protects it from destruction, while Trishula negates cards that target your Nekroz monsters.
After you use its search effect, you can ritual summon it from the grave using Nekroz Cycle and Shurit from your hand. Using Shurit as an ingredient for a summoning ritual will activate Shurit's effect to search for Brionac from your deck.

Its on-field effect is VERY useful if you're facing monsters from Extra, but it's quite situation-dependent and a bit slow, giving your opponent a chance to prevent that from happening. Have Gungnir/Trishula in hand so you can protect Brionac from effects that target destroy.

You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell. Must be Ritual Summoned, without using any Level 9 monsters. You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Trishula" once per turn. ● When a card or effect is activated that targets a "Nekroz" monster(s) you control (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate the activation. ● When this card is Ritual Summoned, you can: Banish exactly 3 of your opponent's cards, 1 each from their hand, field, and GY. (The card in the hand is chosen at random.)

This card is searchable with Brionac and Shurit. It is an extremely powerful monster to summon as its powerful effect can remove many cards without targeting, and it also works immediately upon being summoned. However, this only works when your opponent has a card in each place. Even if it doesn't work, at least it's a good beater with 2700 ATK.

This is not a good card to bring out if you go turn 1, but more so on turn 2 and beyond. You can start your turn by summoning this card to use its effect or to force your opponent back. If Trishula is destroyed or removed from the field, you will be able to activate Cycle /Mirror in the grave to search for another spell ritual to continue play.

Hand effects can protect your monsters from being targeted, which is useful if your monster is about to be attacked with something like a Chalice or Lance.

You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Decisive Armor" once per turn. ● During either player's turn: You can discard this card, then target 1 "Nekroz" monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK and DEF until the end of this turn. ● You can target 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, banish it.

Has the highest base ATK of all Nekroz ritual monsters. Thanks to Shurit's effect, summoning a high-level ritual monster like this is not a problem compared to most other ritual decks.

Even if you can't summon it on the field, its hand effect will give your other Nekroz monsters increased attack power. Since the other Nekroz ritual monsters all have ATK above 2000, increasing +1000 ATK will make them have ATK above 3000 or more to defeat most monsters in the game.

This card is limited because of its powerful hand effect to help survive and prevent a duel, which is what this card will primarily be used for.

You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Gungnir" once per turn. ● During either player's turn: You can discard this card, then target 1 "Nekroz" monster you control; it cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects this turn. ● During either player's turn: You can discard 1 "Nekroz" card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it.

The monster is suitable for Ritual summoning because it has the effect of eliminating cards on the opp field at Quick EFF speed. Discarding Nekroz monsters might be fine since they can be Ritual summoned with Cycle and Shurit can still be used in the grave with Mirror.

Its hand effect is very useful to prevent Destroy. The deck doesn't have a quick eff to search Gungnir from the deck during your opponent's turn, so you have to prepare for this in advance.

You can only use this effect of "Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz" once per turn.

1 monster can be used as material to summon any Nekroz Ritual monster. Use Nekroz Cycle to summon a Ritual Nekroz from the grave using Shurit from hand. This will activate Shurit's effect to search Brionac/Trishula from the deck. You can then continue using it by activating Nekroz Mirror to spend Shurit in the grave.

Remember that Shurit's Search effect only comes once per turn, so summoning Ritual twice per turn will not allow you to search 2 Brionac/Trishula from the deck.

You can only use this effect of "Nekroz Cycle" once per turn. If you control no monsters: You can banish this card and 1 "Nekroz" monster from your GY; add 1 "Nekroz" Spell from your Deck to your hand.

Allows you to special summon a Nekroz Ritual monster from the grave, allowing you to use the Nekroz monster's hand effects a bit more freely.

A common use for this is to ritual summon Brionac from the grave after you use Brionac's seek effect to obtain Shurit or any other Ritual monster.

The final effect is useful for some Recovery situations so you can perform Ritual summons continuously. The search effect is not limited as it can search any Ritual Spell of Nekroz, including itself if you want to Ritual Summon a Nekroz from your grave.

Yep, we can absolutely use monsters in the extra deck as Ritual materials for Nekroz monsters through this card. It can even spam up to 2-3 Nekroz monsters at the same time. However, it also has many limitations when it cannot summon Ritual from the grave or take monsters from the grave as materials. Our extra slots will carry useful cards that do not have the appropriate Level number to summon Nekroz monsters, so this is also the reason we only need to x1 this card.

We can spend 2 Extra deck slots for these 2 Fossil monsters without having to think too much. Not used to Fusion to punch each other, but we use these two cards to combine with Nekroz Kaleidoscope.

As mentioned above, the ritual spell card Nekroz Kaleidoscope allows us to use monsters in the Extra Deck as ritual materials. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard; return that target to the hand.

Having these Xyz monsters can be useful if you need certain effects or if you want to spend more, more useful Trishula after its effect is used. Just remember that doing this means they are no longer Nekroz monsters, so you cannot use Nekroz monsters in your hand to protect them from destruction or target effects.

Brionac can only remove specially summoned monsters, but this M7 can return any monster as long as it can be targeted. Also allows you to target monsters in the grave to disrupt your opponent or to recover your own cards.

Pay 1000 LP, then target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; banish it.

Having a backrow remover can be useful as it allows you to deal with enemy Spells/Traps before you get squeezed by them, allowing you to play your turns more safely. Cosmic Cyclone works best with decks that pay LP, which will allow you to activate the ability to get a Ritual Spell/Monster. You can even use it twice per turn if you use the ability after taking damage (or from Cosmic Cyclone before), then recast Cosmic Cyclone to lose another 1000 to use the skill again.

2 Level 9 monsters Once per Battle Step, during your opponent's turn, if this card with Xyz Material is attacked: Negate the attack (this is a Quick Effect). When this card is targeted for an attack while it has no Xyz Materials: You can target 2 monsters in your Graveyard; attach those targets to this card as Xyz Materials. During your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card can attack your opponent directly this turn. Your opponent must control a monster with higher ATK than this card for you to activate and to resolve this effect.

Since Trishula's effect only works when summoned, there's no good reason to keep it on the field after the effect wears off. You can use them to Xyz into Number 9 if you need an attack blocker or if you know you're facing a deck that can summon monsters with 2800+ ATK.
