Generaider Gameplay Guide

Generaider Gameplay Guide

If you are too annoyed with Despia then you have come to the right place, today I will introduce to you the deck   Generaider .

Generaider   is a Rank 9 Xyz deck, where most of the monsters in the Maindeck are individual boss monsters. They all have high stats, have unique and powerful Quick Effects, and the cost of sacrificing two monsters sounds a lot, but is mitigated by the Field Spell card that simply gives you a field full of tokens to sacrifice.

This deck also focuses on getting your opponent to draw cards, which triggers both the Boss Stage field card effect to summon a large monster from the deck for free and the discard effect of Harr . While most of the Generaider monsters in the maindeck are individual boss monsters, the actual boss is still in the Extra Deck. Laevatein has perhaps the best form of Quick Effect removal in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! game, being able to attach multiple untargeted cards to it as Quick Effect material.

If you've played the deck in TCG or even Master Duel, you'll quickly realize that there's a small problem with this deck in Duel Links, which is that we only have three monster zones, meaning that the Boss Stage effect can only summon up to two tokens instead of four. But don't worry, because we have an ability, which isn't actually designed specifically for Generaider as it supports Level/Rank 9 decks in general.

Skill

Dyson Sphere Gravity (100%)

Dyson Sphere Gravity

This skill is used by Quinton. It allows you to normal summon level 9 monsters without sacrificing anything, which is very important. And it also provides an extra normal summon as long as one of them is used to summon a level 9 monster. Since all Generaider bosses are level 9, the benefit of the skill's 2 normal summons is huge for the Deck.

And if your opponent is the only one controlling a monster, you can shuffle two cards from your hand or field back into your deck and then immediately summon a Dyson Sphere then add one Spell Xyz card from your deck to your hand.

Main Deck Monsters

Mardel Generaider Boss of Light (x3)

Mardel, Generaider Boss of Light

Mardel can be normal summoned without a Tribute using an ability, and you can add any Generaider card to your hand, including Field Spell cards you can search for.

Vala Seidhr of the Generaider Bosses (x2)
Card rarity

Vala, Seidhr of the Generaider Bosses

We will have x2 Valhall .

This card is usually how you spam your main level 9 Generaider monster in TCG since you can't hack skills here and normal summon a 9 star monster for free.

She can special summon herself by sending another Generaider card from her hand to the graveyard. And then, when she is summoned, she can special summon a Generaider monster from her hand or graveyard. So you can re-summon what you sent. And the ability also activates if you special summon it with another effect (e.g. summon with Loptr)

Rose Paladin (x3)

Rose Paladin

Rose Paladin is nothing more than a copy of Marcel because we can discard this card to add Marcel to our hand.

With x3 Marcel, x3 Rose Paladin and x3 Loptr, we almost have 9 Starters in the deck, extremely consistent in the 20-card Format of Duel Links.

Loptr Shadow of the Generaider Bosses (x3)
Card rarity
Loptr, Shadow of the Generaider Bosses
Card rarity
Loptr, Shadow of the Generaider Bosses

One of my secondary starters is Loptr .

This is the only 4-star monster in our main deck ( Rose Paladin , which we will never summon). This guy can Tribute himself. This effect can theoretically Tribute other Generaiders, but usually only Tribute itself as a Quick Effect in MainPhase to Summon a Generaider monster from the deck.

So here is another way you can summon level 9 monsters without summoning them from your hand. (can be considered a starter)

Harr Generaider Boss of Storms (x1-2)
Card rarity
Harr, Generaider Boss of Storms
Card rarity
Harr, Generaider Boss of Storms

The biggest boss in our main deck will be Harr .

This card is a full-on Negate. It can sacrifice 2 Generaider monsters on the field (even itself) so that Harr can negate anything.

And it also has a secondary effect, if your opponent adds a card from their deck to their hand, including drawing, which we will force them to do with some of our card effects. We can use Harr 's effect to force them to send a monster from their hand or field to the graveyard. (It's not random, they get to choose, but they have to choose a monster). And this is usually the one we will summon most often.

There will be an interesting interaction between this card and Droll & Lock Bird that I will talk about later.

Nidhogg, Generaider Boss of Ice, Utgarda and Generaider Boss of Delusion (x1)

Utgarda, Generaider Boss of Delusion

The 2 sub-bosses of Generaider will be Nidhogg and Utard

  • Nidhogg has the ability to disable special summons. It's basically the same as Steelswarm Roach so I won't say too much.

  • We can also summon Utard . This guy can Quick Effect banish a card on the field. Banish any card so you can use it to clear the backrow.

If you are short on deck space, you can cut one of these two cards because if you need more space in your deck, Harr will definitely have a slot because it negates everything.

Hela Generaider Boss of Doom (x0-1)

Usually just to add 1 level 9 body with Generaider archetype to XYZ, the revival effect in many situations is also quite useful

Lonefire Blossom (x0-1)

Used to summon Mardel directly from the deck but is quite slow, easy to get disrupted,...

We already have x3 Loptr which has a similar purpose to this card but does it better... But you can also play this card to add a starter if you are a careful person xD

Spell/Trap + Tech/Staple

Generaider Boss Stage (x3)
Card rarity
Generaider Boss Stage

Generaider Boss Stage

This card is the foundation of the entire Deck strategy. The entire Generaider Deck revolves around this card.

This Field card has two effects. Once per turn, if a card is added from your main deck to your opponent's hand (this includes your opponent's Draw Phase). So if you go first and switch turns, it will immediately activate Boss Stage and then use its effect to special summon a Generaider monster from your deck in defense position. And so, this is one of the most reliable ways to summon Main Deck bosses.

And when you special summon a Generaider monster during your opponent's turn, you can special summon as many Generaider tokens as you can in attack position, but they are destroyed in EndPhase. So this is something that will give you free monsters to Tribute since all the boss monsters in your main deck need to Tribute two Generaider monsters to use their Quick Effects.

Generaider Boss Fight (x0-1)

Generaider Boss Fight

This trap card belongs to the Archetype so it can be searched with Marcel. In case we don't have a Field Spell in hand, this card will help us immediately place a Boss Stage on the field, at the same time let the enemy draw another card so that the Boss Stage can be activated immediately.

Can be combined with Harr and Droll & Lock Bird to create a pretty fun combo

Droll & Lock Bird (x1-3)
UR rarity

Droll & Lock Bird

We have a fun combo with Droll & Lock Bird . If you have Generaider Boss Stage and Generaider Boss Fight , let your opponent draw a card in their Draw Phase , summon Loptr but do not call a Token. Then, use Generaider Boss Fight to summon Harr and the Tokens, then chain Droll to Harr's effect. This way, your opponent will not be able to add cards to their hand for the entire turn , forcing them to discard a monster.

Details will be in Combo/How to play section

Xyz Burst

These 2 cards can be added directly to your hand through your turn 2 skill and your opponent has a monster on the field. This is really a big advantage, an extremely useful effect in the Turn 1 set up meta full of destructive possibilities. These 2 cards have different functions to deal with different situations.

  • XYZ Burst can clear all of your opponent's face-down cards, including Spell/Trap & Monsters (If you play against Subterror, the possibility of this card clearing the opponent's field is very high)

  • XYZ Import (a bit better than Burst because it's a Quick Spell) is used to deal with monsters with annoying Disruption, forcing the enemy to use disruption or pick it up (a form of removal not destruction)

Extra Deck

Laevatein Generaider Boss of Shadows (x2-3)
Card rarity
Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows
Card rarity
Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows

Laevatein is the final boss of this deck. It uses two or more level 9 monsters as Xyz materials.

This card has a very powerful Quick Effect. You can use it even during your turn to remove your opponent's monster or even backrow. It would be: Tribute this card and then special summon an Xyz Generaider monster that is not a Fairy, but we only have one target, always Yangada . and then you can attach cards from any field or graveyard to the special summoned monster as materials, up to the amount of materials this card has before you Tribute itself

The above mentioned removal effect does not target. It does not destroy. It is really powerful and you can even remove anything from the grave if needed. So this is one of the best forms of removal in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh game.

Note : You can only control one of this card, just like all other Generaiders . Also, you can't have multiple Marc el on the field. So if you're wondering why you can't special summon this card, it's usually because you already have one copy on the field.

Jormungandr Generaider Boss of Eternity (x3)
Card rarity
Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity
Card rarity
Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity

This card basically has an effect that increases ATK depending on the number of materials it has and also has a Quick Effect to discard a material so that both players draw a card, then both players attach a card from their hand to this card.

It's like a handrip, but it's not really that good because the opponent gets to choose what card they attach to it and they get a free draw, but in return it activates the Field Spell, which is the key part of this card.

Number 9: Dyson Sphere (x1)
UR rarity
Number 9: Dyson Sphere
UR rarity
Number 9: Dyson Sphere

Dyson Sphere is needed to play with its ability. If you go later, you immediately summon this card because the ability can only be used if only your opponent controls a monster.

We summon this card by shuffling two cards you don't need back into the deck. Then we add Xyz Burst , which is basically Heavy Storm . It destroys all of your opponent's face-down cards, including monsters. If they play Subterror , you can destroy their monsters too, which is pretty fun. And you can also play other Spell Xyz cards. It doesn't have to be Xyz Burst . You can play Xyz Import , which puts an opponent's monster under your Xyz monster as material. But this deck is a little lacking in backrow removal. So that's why we play Xyz Burst . But depending on the meta or your preferences, you can play other Spell cards.

We'll never summon these, but we'll still put them in the deck because at least we can summon them easily with 9-star bodies, and in case we need them in some crazy situation.
