Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Fusion Summon a 3000-ATK Dragon (Arthalion, Albion, Filia Regis, Secreterion) from the Extra Deck after the Dracotail Fusion engine converts hand and field resources.; Albaz Dragon fusions (Albion the Sanctifire, Alba-Lenatus, Titaniklad) as alternate boss threats when the Dracotail line is disrupted.
- Turn 1 (going first): T1 Normal Summon Dracotail Faimena or Mulcharmy Fuwalos, use Fallen of the White Dragon or Lukias to search or set a Dracotail Spell/Trap, then Fusion Summon a 3000-ATK boss from the Extra Deck.
- Turn 2 (going second): Hold Ash Blossom, Effect Veiler, Droll and Maxx C as hand traps on the opponent's turn, then use the Dracotail Fusion resources on the next turn if the board is cleared.
- Recovery: Recover through Dracotail Flame, Horn and Sting (each draws 1 after placing a Dracotail card from the GY or banishment to the Deck bottom), plus Phryxul and Lukias revival and search from the GY.
- After siding: No Side Deck is registered, so no post-side plan can be evaluated; the deck relies on the Main Deck alone.
Why it scores here
The deck reliably opens a Dracotail starter: the 25 archetype-core copies give an estimated 99.5% chance of at least one core card in a 5-card opening hand, and the search and Fusion-enabling cards (Faimena, Mulcharmy, Lukias, Fallen of the White Dragon) keep the engine live on turns 1 and 2. Its conversion ceiling comes from the 3000-ATK Fusion bosses and the Dracotail Fusion engine, but no recorded boards exist, so the ceiling and median are both text-based inferences and the median is scored conservatively. Interaction is the strongest part of the system: eight hand traps, Dracotail Sting, Flame and Horn, and several Fusion effects that negate or destroy give the deck layered disruption on the opponent's turn. Popularity and archetype usage confirm the list is real and accessible but did not add points by themselves, and card scores were not averaged into the deck score. The score is held back by the lack of a sideboard, the mixed engine (Branded, Albaz, Despia, Predaplant and Bystial elements), and a high pilot burden.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 72 | P(at least one archetype-core card in a 5-card hand) = 0.995 across 25 copies; 2-card starter bootstrap is common (Inferred) |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 62 | 8 hand traps with P(>=1 in going-second 6-card hand) = 0.76; several Extra-dependent starters can brick without Fusion material (Inferred) |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 60 | No recorded boards; best line inferred from Fusion text (3000-ATK bosses, Dracotail Gulamel destruction, Rindbrumm and Mirrorjade negations) (Inferred) |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 50 | No recorded boards, so median output cannot be measured; scored conservatively at the midpoint (Provisional) |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 60 | Recursion via Lukias, Phryxul and Urgula GY effects and three Dracotail Spell/Traps that draw after recycling; two independent lines via Fallen of Albaz and Dracotail Faimena (Inferred) |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 65 | Dracotail Flame, Horn and Sting each draw 1 while recycling a card; Maxx C adds a draw on opponent summons (Inferred from text) |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 74 | Eight hand-trap-type cards plus Sting, Mululu and Fusion negations give layered interaction; 13 single-copy Main Deck slots limit redundancy (Inferred) |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 65 | Going-second Droll, Maxx C and Ash Blossom are strong in hand 6, and Fusion removal can break an established board (Inferred) |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 66 | Four 3000-ATK Fusion bosses and Albion the Sanctifire's protection on the Extra Deck; no ATK or closing observations supplied (Verified stat from card data, Inferred use) |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 60 | 40 Main Deck cards with 25 distinct; 36 of 40 copies sit outside the exact Dracotail name, so Main Deck coherence is moderate (Verified count, Inferred read) |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 62 | All 15 Extra Deck slots are used: 13 Fusion, 1 Link and 1 Synchro; Albaz and Dracotail boss access is broad but several bosses are hard-to-reach (Verified count, Inferred read) |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 25 | No Side Deck registered (0 of 15 slots), so adaptability is structurally absent (Verified) |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 50 | No tournament link or dated meta sample; archetype is niche but the list is consistent with the guide's control framing (Provisional) |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 40 | Long Fusion and hand-trap sequencing with many decision points; the guide notes disruption timing depends on the opponent's turn (Inferred) |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: Midrange. Structural ≈ 61, Going First ≈ 57, Going Second ≈ 63, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 55. Modifiers: engine conflicts (-2); banlist exposure (-1); no Side Deck (-1). Final formula: 0.80*Structural + 0.20*TournamentReliability (Meta provisional) + ContextModifiers(-4); 0.80*60.9 + 0.20*55 - 4 = 55.7, rounded to 56
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 1 · key two-card combo ≈ — · full-brick estimate ≈ 0.01 (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- Engine opens reliably from the 25-card archetype core
- Layered interaction through eight hand traps and Fusion-linked negations and removal
- Recursion and draw-on-recycle spells keep card economy healthy through disruption
- Four 3000-ATK Fusion bosses give a high closing ceiling
Weaknesses
- No side deck, so no post-side adaptation
- Mixed sub-archetype engine (Branded, Albaz, Despia, Predaplant, Bystial) creates summon conflicts
- Heavy reliance on Extra Deck Fusion and high pilot skill
- Low archetype purity (34.5% exact name) increases conflict risk
Critical choke points
- Dracotail Faimena or Mulcharmy as the turn-1 starter, since most lines begin there
- The Fallen of Albaz or Fallen of the White Dragon for Albaz Fusion access
- Ash Blossom and Droll for going-second disruption, with no other hand-trap density
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Side Deck of up to 15 cards | Currently 0 side cards; a 15-card side would give post-side flexibility for known matchups | |
| 2 | Predaplant Verte Anaconda | Dracotail or Albaz-compatible Extra Deck monster | Reduces off-archetype Extra Deck conflicts and keeps the Fusion engine on one sub-archetype |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legal 40/15/0 with all Limited and Semi-Limited copies within legal counts; Archetype core of 25 copies and 15 of 25 core cards present; Hand-trap and searcher text counts
- Inferred: Opening-hand starter estimate of 0.995; Going-first and going-second power estimates; Interaction and recursion reads from card text
- Provisional: Meta Power is null; no dated metagame sample; Matchup fit and tournament reliability are provisional
- Data gaps: no combos supplied, so floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference no tournament link, so archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record are absent no win-rate telemetry (going-first, going-second, matchup or brick rates) Meta Power is provisional unless a dated metagame sample is supplied no side deck, so post-side performance cannot be assessed
