- Primary strategy: Midrange
- Secondary strategies: Control, Ritual
- Format: duel-links
Legality
Main 30 / Extra 9 / Side 0 — status: Legal with warning.
Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Ritual Summon Lord of the Red with Red-Eyes Transmigration and grind the opponent out with its recurring either-turn destruction effect while attacking with 2400-3200 ATK bosses.; Branded/Despia Fusion line (Aluber the Jester of Despia into Branded Fusion into Albion the Branded Dragon) plus card advantage from The Beginning of the End.
- Turn 1 (going first): Open Red-Eyes Insight or Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon to send Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the GY, add Red-Eyes Transmigration, then tribute/banish 8+ Levels to land Lord of the Red and keep a search or a set Branded Banishment behind it.
- Turn 2 (going second): Use Lava Golem to strip two opposing monsters, resolve Lord of the Red's destruction effect on the opponent's activation, and push damage with the Fusion bosses; Branded Banishment and Predaplant Triphyoverutum are the only extra removal.
- Recovery: Red-Eyes Wyvern revives a Red-Eyes in the End Phase if no Normal Summon was made, The Beginning of the End converts five banished DARKs into a draw 3, and Despian Tragedy re-sets a Branded Spell/Trap from the GY.
- After siding: Duel Links uses no Side Deck (side_count 0); adaptation is limited to the existing Droll & Lock Bird and Lava Golem tech slots plus deckbuilding changes.
Why it scores here
This is a working but scattered midrange pile: the Red-Eyes half can reliably buy a Lord of the Red because Red-Eyes Insight and Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon both send Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the GY (P of at least one in a five-card hand is about 0.63), which simultaneously supplies the banish fuel for Red-Eyes Transmigration, and the ritual boss carries a real either-turn destruction effect. The Branded/Despia half is much thinner than it looks: Branded Fusion can only reach Albion the Branded Dragon because the deck runs exactly one LIGHT monster, and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, Dark Paladin and Invoked Caliga have no legal materials anywhere in the list, so roughly a third of the Extra Deck is inert. Three copies of The Beginning of the End are dead until seven DARK monsters sit in the GY, and when they finally turn on they banish the same DARK Red-Eyes bodies the Ritual needs, while Lava Golem's Normal-Summon lock fights the Aluber and Insight lines. There are zero recorded boards, so the floor and median are text-only inference and are scored well below the ceiling rather than being replaced by it. The score comes from the system's consistency, thin interaction density, dead Extra slots and engine conflicts; it does not come from Red-Eyes' familiarity or archetype usage share, and no individual card power scores were averaged.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 58 | Red-Eyes Insight (2) plus Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon (3) give P(>=1 in a 5-card hand) of about 0.63, with Transmigration searchable off Insight, but the Branded half is gated by a single LIGHT monster (Inferred). |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 50 | Three copies of The Beginning of the End do nothing until 7 DARK monsters are in the GY and Lava Golem, Branded Banishment and Red-Eyes Burn are all conditional, giving an estimated full-brick rate near 0.10 (Inferred). |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 50 | The realistic ceiling is Lord of the Red plus one Fusion body (Albion the Branded Dragon, or Buster Blader via The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion); Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, Dark Paladin and Invoked Caliga have no legal materials in this list (Inferred). |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 42 | combo evidence is empty (total_combos = 0), so the median turn projects to a single Ritual boss plus one set card or one Fusion, well under the ceiling (Inferred). |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 40 | Independent entry points exist (Insight, Black Meteor, Aluber) but each Ritual resolution spends two or more cards and none of the resolved texts protect the Ritual Summon itself (Inferred). |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 48 | The Beginning of the End (draw 3 for banishing 5 DARK) and Red-Eyes Wyvern's End Phase revival are the only recovery engines, and the draw spell consumes the Red-Eyes fuel Transmigration needs (Inferred). |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 45 | Lord of the Red's either-turn destruction effect plus Branded Banishment is essentially the whole interactive suite, backed by 2 Droll & Lock Bird and 1 Trap (Verified text, Inferred density). |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 38 | The only true board breaker is 1 Lava Golem, and it blocks the Normal Summon the rest of the deck needs; no resolved card in the list sweeps an established board (Inferred). |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 45 | Lord of the Red is 2400 ATK and Despian Proskenion 3200, but Proskenion needs three named materials on a three-zone Duel Links field (Inferred). |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 38 | All 30 slots are split across four sub-engines (14 Red-Eyes, 9 Despia/Branded, 12 generic including 3 Beginning of the End) with only 35.9% exact-name purity (Verified composition). |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 35 | At least three of the nine Extra slots (Invoked Caliga, Dark Paladin, Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon) cannot be legally Fusion Summoned from this main deck (Verified text, Inferred reachability). |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 30 | side_count is 0 and Duel Links does not use a Side Deck, so post-side adaptation is deckbuilding-only and scores low by construction (Verified). |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 48 | No tournament link or dated metagame sample is attached, and the list omits most of the 80-100% inclusion core shown in the usage sample, so format fit cannot be measured (Provisional). |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 48 | Sequencing traps are numerous (Lava Golem locks Normal Summons, Wyvern requires a Normal-Summon-free turn, Beginning of the End exiles Ritual fuel) even though the core line itself is short (Inferred). |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: Midrange. Structural ≈ 45, Going First ≈ 45, Going Second ≈ 38, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 47. Modifiers: Dead Extra Deck slots (-3); Engine anti-synergy (-1). Final formula: 0.80*Structural(45) + 0.20*TournamentReliability(47) = 45.4, then -4 context modifiers = 41 (Meta provisional)
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 0.63 · key two-card combo ≈ 0.4 · full-brick estimate ≈ 0.1 (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- Red-Eyes Insight and Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon both dump Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the GY, feeding Red-Eyes Transmigration's banish cost while thinning the deck.
- Lord of the Red is a self-contained boss whose once-per-turn destruction effect works on the opponent's turn, giving the deck real interaction without a dedicated engine.
- The Beginning of the End is a three-card refill that can out-grind slower Duel Links decks once the graveyard is loaded.
- Aluber the Jester of Despia is an independent one-card searcher that reaches Branded Fusion or Branded Banishment without spending the Red-Eyes graveyard fuel.
Weaknesses
- Three loosely related engines (Red-Eyes Ritual, Branded/Despia, Beginning of the End) with only 35.9% exact-name purity, so opening hands frequently split between plans.
- Three copies of The Beginning of the End are dead before seven DARK monsters are in the GY and then banish the same bodies the Ritual line needs.
- The Extra Deck is partly inert: Invoked Caliga, Dark Paladin and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon have no legal materials, and Branded Fusion's only Albaz target needs a LIGHT monster the deck runs once.
- Interaction density is low: two hand traps, one Trap, and a single boss effect.
- Lava Golem conflicts with the Normal-Summon-dependent Aluber and Insight lines.
Critical choke points
- Branded Fusion has a single LIGHT monster (The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion) to fuse with Fallen of Albaz; if it is drawn or used, Branded Fusion becomes dead.
- If the Red-Eyes Transmigration Ritual Summon is negated after the tribute/banish cost, the deck has spent two or more cards and has no in-archetype way to restart that turn.
- The Beginning of the End cannot be turned on early, and banished cards are unrecoverable, so the draw engine can permanently remove the Transmigration fuel.
- The deck's only removal-on-demand outside combat is Lord of the Red; losing it leaves only 2400-ATK bodies.
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Beginning of the End (2 of 3 copies) | Pre-Preparation of Rites | Pre-Preparation of Rites assembles Lord of the Red plus Red-Eyes Transmigration in one card and is listed at 80% inclusion in the archetype sample, while The Beginning of the End is dead until seven DARK monsters are in the GY and then banishes the Red-Eyes bodies Transmigration needs. |
| 2 | Dark Paladin | Red-Eyes Spirit | Dark Paladin has no legal Fusion Materials in this list (no Dark Magician, no Buster Blader); Red-Eyes Spirit is an archetype-standard Trap that rebuys a Red-Eyes body and extends the Ritual line across turns. |
| 3 | Invoked Caliga | I:P Masquerena | Caliga requires Aleister the Invoker, which is not in the deck; I:P Masquerena converts spare bodies left over from Ritual tributes into the S:P Little Knight already sitting in the Extra Deck. |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legality: 30 Main / 9 Extra / 0 Side within Duel Links size rules (20-30 / 0-9 / 0-9), no violations listed; status Legal with warning.; Red-Eyes Burn is Limited (BanDuelLink) and is run at exactly 1 legal copy.; Resolved card text for 25 distinct cards, including Lord of the Red's either-turn destruction clause and Red-Eyes Transmigration's banish-based Ritual cost.; Composition: 35.9% exact-name archetype purity; 2 hand traps; 0 floodgates; Extra Deck 7 Fusion / 1 Link / 1 Xyz.
- Observed: combos_evidence reports total_combos = 0 and scored_combos = 0 — no recorded boards for this list.; Usage sample: Lord of the Red 100% inclusion at 3 copies, Red-Eyes Transmigration 100% at 3, Red-Eyes Insight 80% at 3, Red-Eyes Spirit 80%, Red-Eyes Fusion 80% — this list deviates from several of those (Insight at 2, no Spirit, no Red-Eyes Fusion).; Only 6 of 25 tracked core cards by the sample's own mapping; core_cards_present_pct 24.
- Inferred: P(>=1 of Red-Eyes Insight or Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon in a 5-card hand) is about 0.63; a full ritual assembly line lands near 0.40.; Estimated full-brick rate near 0.10 driven by three copies of The Beginning of the End plus single conditional Traps.; Invoked Caliga, Dark Paladin and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon are unreachable given the resolved Main Deck materials.; Lava Golem and The Beginning of the End pull against the Normal Summon and graveyard-fuel requirements of the Red-Eyes Ritual line.
- Provisional: D13 matchup and format fit: no tournament link, no dated metagame sample, no archetype meta-share.; Meta Power is null and held provisional.
- Data gaps: No combos supplied — combo floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference. No tournament link — archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record absent. Passcode 74677422 (2 Main Deck copies) could not be resolved to a card; it is treated as an unnamed Level-5+ Normal Monster fuel body based on the Black Meteor Dragon and usage-stat context, which lowers confidence. Internal conflict: usage_statistics mark S:P Little Knight, TY-PHON and Dark Paladin as 'not in this deck' and list them as missing core, while the resolved cards array places them in the Extra Deck; the resolved list was trusted. No win-rate telemetry exists in YGOVN (going-first/second, matchup, game-level, brick/starter/OTK rates) — those signals are Inferred or Unknown. Meta Power is Provisional because no dated metagame sample was supplied.
