Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Build a multi-summon D/D/D board (Deus Machinex / Siegfried / Gilgamesh-placed scales) and convert into a 3000+ ATK lethal push; Grind with recurring Fusion and Pendulum summons while Dark Contract with Patent License and Number 68 restrict the opponent's summon types
- Turn 1 (going first): Normal Summon Copernicus or Kepler to fetch Dark Contract with the Gate, search a D/D body, Link into Gilgamesh to place two Pendulum scales, then Fusion/Synchro/Xyz into Siegfried or Deus Machinex and set/keep a Contract
- Turn 2 (going second): Use Forbidden Droplet to strip negates, Droll & Lock Bird to cut search chains, then Pendulum-summon into Caesar Ragnarok / Beowulf piercing and Deus Machinex for lethal
- Recovery: Regenerate with Genghis reviving a D/D from the GY, Necro Slime fusing from the GY, Gryphon's recursion and Ragnarok's Pendulum revival; rebuild a smaller board and re-search with Gate/Kepler
- After siding: No Side Deck is registered (0/9), so post-side adaptation depends entirely on the Duel Links Skill and on swapping individuals between games rather than on a prepared side plan
Why it scores here
This D/D/D list is scored as a combo system, not as a pile of individually strong cards. Accessibility is genuinely high: eleven copies of Dark Contract with the Gate, D/D Gryphon, D/D Savant Copernicus and D/D Savant Kepler give roughly a 92% chance of at least one engine card in a five-card opening, and the searcher-text group reaches about 89%, so the deck usually sees a starter. Conversion, however, is text-inferred only - the evidence pack contains zero recorded boards - so the ceiling (Deus Machinex, Siegfried, Gilgamesh scale placement, Beowulf and Caesar Ragnarok beatdown) is credited while the floor and median are deliberately held near 60. Interaction is real but thin in Duel Links' three-monster-zone, 4000-LP frame: Siegfried negates Spells/Traps, Patent License restricts matching summon types, Sanaphond shuts down GY summons, and Droplet x3 plus Droll x3 are the only non-engine answers. Nine singleton main-deck slots and recurring self-damage from the Dark Contracts keep the deck out of the upper bands, and archetype usage or popularity earned no points here - the score reflects consistency, conversion, resilience and cost measured on the whole system.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 78 | 11 copies of Gate/Gryphon/Copernicus/Kepler give P(>=1 in a 5-card hand) ~ 0.92, and the 10-copy searcher-text group ~ 0.89 (Inferred) |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 65 | Nine singleton main-deck slots plus several cards that need prior setup (Orthros, Zero Laplace, Headhunt, Patent License) point to a roughly 10-15% non-functional opener rather than a clean one (Inferred) |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 72 | No recorded boards exist; ceiling read from card text - Deus Machinex 3000 ATK, Siegfried Spell/Trap negate, Gilgamesh placing two scales from Deck (Inferred) |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 60 | 0 parseable combo boards in the evidence; median estimated from singleton extenders and a three-zone field rather than measured (Inferred) |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 60 | Recursion exists (Genghis reviving a D/D, Necro Slime GY fusion, Ragnarok Pendulum revival) but most lines still route through a single Normal Summon that is the common chokepoint (Inferred) |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 55 | Grind is supported by Contract searches and GY fusions, offset by Gate's 1000-per-Standby, Gilgamesh's 1000 and Ragnarok's 1000 self-damage in a 4000-LP format (Inferred) |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 68 | Siegfried negate, Patent License summon-type lock, Sanaphond GY lock, Headhunt control-steal plus Witch/Droplet removal form layers, but the interaction count per board is small (Inferred) |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 62 | Going-second outs are Forbidden Droplet x3 (P(>=1 in 6) ~ 0.50) and Droll x3; the archetype itself contributes no dedicated board breaker in this list (Inferred) |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 76 | Caesar Ragnarok 3200, Deus Machinex 3000, Beowulf 3000 with piercing battle damage, plus Headhunt stealing an opposing body, support fast lethal (Verified stat / Inferred) |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 60 | 30-card main of only 17 distinct names with 9 one-ofs - the engine is compact but the flex slots are inflexible singletons (Inferred) |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 72 | All 9 Extra Deck slots are used across Link, Fusion, Xyz and Synchro with Gilgamesh at 2, giving broad mechanic coverage, though every other tool is a 1-of (Verified) |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 35 | Side Deck is empty (0 of 9 allowed) so no constructed post-side plan is present and none can be evaluated (Verified) |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 62 | No tournament link or dated metagame sample; attached guides describe D/D/D as a top Duel Links deck, but that is archetype commentary, not a deck win rate (Provisional) |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 52 | Lines span Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Link and Pendulum sequencing with many ordering decisions and little recovery from a mis-sequenced Contract, so error tolerance is low (Inferred) |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: Combo. Structural ≈ 66, Going First ≈ 67, Going Second ≈ 66, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 60. Modifiers: Hard-garnet / singleton burden (-3); Self-damage LP pressure (-2). Final formula: 0.80*Structural + 0.20*TournamentReliability + ContextModifiers (Meta provisional)
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 0.92 · key two-card combo ≈ 0.55 · full-brick estimate ≈ 0.12 (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- Very high engine access: ~92% chance of at least one of Gate/Gryphon/Copernicus/Kepler in a five-card opening
- Deep Extra Deck coverage across Link, Fusion, Synchro and Xyz in a format that only allows 9 slots
- High closing power: Caesar Ragnarok 3200, Deus Machinex 3000, Beowulf 3000 with piercing battle damage
- Multiple layers of disruption available (Siegfried Spell/Trap negate, Patent License summon-type lock, Sanaphond GY lock, Headhunt control-steal)
- Strong search density lets the deck function without drawing the exact one-of extenders
Weaknesses
- No recorded combo boards, so floor and median output are unverified and must be assumed lower than the ceiling
- Nine singleton main-deck slots create variance; opening on several setup-dependent singletons is a real dead-hand risk
- Interaction density per board is low for a combo deck - most end boards hold only one or two pieces of disruption
- Forbidden Droplet and Droll & Lock Bird are the entire non-engine interaction package (6 cards)
- Recurring self-damage from the Dark Contracts is dangerous at 4000 LP
- Empty Side Deck means no prepared post-side plan exists
Critical choke points
- The single Normal Summon on Copernicus/Kepler - if it is negated, the turn usually collapses without an alternative line
- Gilgamesh's on-summon effect - negating it both removes the scale placement and locks the deck out of non-D/D Special Summons for the turn
- Dependence on one-of extenders (Swirl Slime, Necro Slime) to reach the Fusion bosses
- Dark Contract accumulation - two or three Contracts on board can drain 2000-3000 LP before the opponent deals any damage
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | D/D/D Headhunt (1) | D/D Swirl Slime (2nd copy) | Swirl Slime is the cleanest one-card route into the D/D/D Fusion bosses while Headhunt is a reactive singleton that does nothing on an empty board |
| 2 | D/D Dog (1) | D/D Necro Slime (2nd copy) | A second Necro Slime raises the chance of a GY-fusion follow-up line after the first board is broken, which is the deck's weakest phase |
| 3 | Dark Contract with Patent License (1) | D/D Savant Kepler (3rd copy) | Kepler is the deck's most consistent Contract searcher and the third copy raises the scale-10 side of the Pendulum engine, while Patent License is a conditional singleton |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legality: 30 Main / 9 Extra / 0 Side within Duel Links caps (20-30 / 0-9 / 0-9), no violations, all cards Unlimited under BanDuelLink; Card text and stats for every listed card (Caesar Ragnarok 3200 ATK, Deus Machinex 3000, Beowulf 3000 with piercing, Siegfried Spell/Trap negate, Sanaphond GY lock); Usage statistics: 25 archetype core rows at 100% inclusion, typical copy counts recorded; Side Deck count is 0 of 9 allowed slots
- Observed: Archetype usage confirms the list runs the standard D/D core at typical copy counts (Gate x3, Copernicus x3, Gryphon x3, Droll x3, Droplet x3); Zero parseable combo boards were supplied for this deck (combo data.total combos = 0)
- Inferred: P(>=1 starter among 11 engine copies in a 5-card hand) ~ 0.92; searcher-text group of 10 copies ~ 0.89; Full-brick estimate ~ 10-15% driven by nine singleton main-deck slots; Median output assumed below the text-derived ceiling because no board data exists; Going-second board-breaking rests on Forbidden Droplet x3 (P(>=1 in 6) ~ 0.50) plus Droll x3; Interaction per board is thin relative to the deck's summon count, based on the small number of negate/lock cards in the list
- Provisional: Meta Power is null - no dated metagame sample was supplied; tournament data is unavailable; Matchup coverage and format fit rely on undated guide commentary calling D/D/D a top Duel Links deck, not on measured results
- Data gaps: No combo boards supplied - combo floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference No tournament link - archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record absent No win-rate telemetry exists in YGOVN (going-first/second, matchup, game-level, brick/starter/OTK rates); those signals are Inferred or Unknown Meta Power is Provisional absent a dated metagame sample usage statistics 'in this deck' flags read false for Extra Deck cards that are in fact present in the list (data-quality artifact, resolved against the resolved card list)
