Legality
Main 40 / Extra 15 / Side 0 — status: Legal.
Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Fusion-summon Dragon bosses (Dragon that Devours the Dogma, Alba-Lenatus, Titaniklad, Mirrorjade, Lubellion) through the Fallen of Albaz / Fallen of the White Dragon engine, then close with 2500-3000 ATK boards.; Ecclesia / Dogmatika / Cartesia Synchro and Fusion boards that stack disruption (Ash Blossom, Maxx C, Droll) and grind with Mulcharmy draw and searchers.
- Turn 1 (going first): Opening Nadir Servant, Aluber, Mulcharmy or Ecclesia searches into Branded Fusion or Fallen of Albaz (needs a Fallen-named Fusion material), then Fusion Summon a boss and protect it with Ash Blossom and Fallen and Virtuous.
- Turn 2 (going second): Hand traps (Ash Blossom, Maxx C, Droll and Lock Bird, Tri-Brigade Mercourier) to break the opponent's first summon, then a Fusion boss from Albaz access; no side deck, so the plan is the same as going first.
- Recovery: Searchers (16 searcher-text cards) and Mulcharmy draws rebuild the hand; Fallen of the White Dragon, Albion and Super Polymerization give replacement Albaz access after a hand trap or negate.
- After siding: Not applicable: the deck has no side deck and Master Duel is a single game, so no post-side plan exists.
Why it scores here
The deck opens a functional plan most of the time: 16 searcher-text cards give about a 0.93 chance of at least one searcher in the opening five, and the Albaz access group (Fallen of Albaz, two Fallen of the White Dragon, Albion) gives about a 0.43 chance of a Fallen-named Fusion starter. It converts that plan into 2500-3000 ATK bosses and holds up under disruption through three Ash Blossom, Maxx C and Droll with independent starters. The score is driven by consistency and interaction on the system, not by Branded being a popular archetype, and card scores were not averaged. Single-copy Branded Fusion and Fallen of Albaz are the main choke points, and two Extra Deck monsters (Favorite HERO, Three Champions) lack support, which pulls the score down.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 66 | P(at least one searcher in hand of 5) ≈ 0.93; Albaz access group P ≈ 0.43; Branded Fusion and Fallen of Albaz single copies ≈ 0.125 each (Inferred) |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 58 | 16 singleton main-deck slots plus three hand traps that need a specific trigger; a conflicting Mulcharmy and Tri-Brigade mix creates some dead draws (Inferred) |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 70 | Fallen of Albaz plus Branded Fusion reaches 2500-3000 ATK bosses with protection; no recorded boards to measure (Inferred, card text) |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 55 | No combos supplied; floor depends on searcher-to-Fusion conversion and starter diversity, scored conservatively (Inferred) |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 68 | Three Ash Blossom, Maxx C and Droll give interaction; Albaz is multi-sourced (Fallen of Albaz, two White Dragon, Albion) so a single negate does not end the line (Inferred) |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 72 | 16 searchers, Mulcharmy draw effects, Garura draw and Super Polymerization give strong grind (Inferred, card text) |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 74 | 10 negation-text and 6 removal-text cards; Retribution, Ash and the Dragon that Devours the Dogma layer interaction (Inferred, flags and text) |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 70 | Dragon that Devours the Dogma is unaffected by effects; Maxx C and Droll help going second; hand-trap group P ≥ 1 in six ≈ 0.58 (Inferred) |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 74 | Boss ATK of 2500-3000 with multi-attack Alba-Lenatus and Fallen-of-Albaz boards close the game (Verified stats, Inferred conversion) |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 60 | 40 main with 26 distinct cards (16 singletons); about 50 of 55 cards are off exact-name Branded (9.1% purity), with mixed sub-archetypes (Despia, Dogmatika, Mulcharmy, Springans, Tri-Brigade) (Verified) |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 60 | 13 distinct Extra Deck cards; the Dragon that Devours x3 is core, but Favorite HERO Shining Flare and Three Champions have weak support (Verified composition, Inferred) |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 50 | Master Duel is single-game with no side deck, so this is neutral and provisional, not a penalty (Provisional) |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 55 | Branded is a long-running archetype with guide support, but no dated meta sample or tournament link exists; neutral score (Provisional) |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 40 | Multi-step Fusion lines with Albaz-named material and sub-archetype transforms (Albion, Fallen of the White Dragon) are demanding to play (Inferred) |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: Combo. Structural ≈ 65, Going First ≈ 68, Going Second ≈ 67, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 58. Modifiers: Unrecoverable choke point (-2); Engine conflicts (-2); Banlist exposure (-1). Final formula: 0.80*Structural + 0.20*TournamentReliability + ContextModifiers (Meta provisional, no dated sample) = 0.80*65.2 + 0.20*58 - 5 ≈ 59
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 0.43 · key two-card combo ≈ — · full-brick estimate ≈ — (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- 16 searchers give consistent access to Fusion starters
- Albaz-named material is multi-sourced, so one negate does not end the line
- Three Ash Blossom plus Maxx C and Droll give layered interaction
- Dragon that Devours the Dogma and Alba-Lenatus provide effect-proof and multi-attack bosses
Weaknesses
- Branded Fusion and Fallen of Albaz are single copies with Limited or single-copy status
- Two Extra Deck monsters (Favorite HERO, Three Champions) have little support
- Mixed sub-archetypes (about 9% exact Branded) dilute the engine
- High pilot complexity from multi-step Albaz and Albion transforms
Critical choke points
- Branded Fusion (Limited, 1 copy) is the main Fusion enabler
- Fallen of Albaz (1 copy) plus the Fallen-named White Dragons are the only Albaz material sources
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Favorite HERO Shining Flare Wingman | A second Fallen-named Fusion or Albion-line support card | Removes an Extra slot with no HERO support and adds consistency to the Albaz line |
| 2 | The Three Champions of Swordsoul | Albion the Branded Dragon or a Branded Fusion-compatible boss, if available | Swordsoul support is only one card, so this slot does not connect to the engine |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legal status, 40 main and 15 extra counts, Limited and Semi-Limited copy limits; Archetype purity 9.1% and archetype spread; Usage stats (Albion the Branded Dragon absent; 15 of 25 core cards present in Main)
- Inferred: Albaz-access probability ≈ 0.43 and searcher probability ≈ 0.93 (hypergeometric); D3 ceiling and D4 floor from card text, no combo boards; Choke point assessment from copy counts
- Provisional: Meta Power (no dated metagame sample); D13 matchup fit (no tournament link); D12 side deck (no side deck in Master Duel)
- Data gaps: no combos supplied: combo floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference no tournament link: archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record absent no win-rate telemetry exists in YGOVN Meta Power provisional unless a dated metagame sample is supplied usage_statistics in_this_deck flag only checks the Main Deck: 9 of the 10 core cards marked missing (Rindbrumm, Mirrorjade, Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon, Lubellion, Alba-Lenatus, Titaniklad, Granguignol, The Three Champions, The Dragon that Devours the Dogma) are in the Extra Deck, so core_present_pct 60 understates the real presence; only Albion the Branded Dragon is truly absent Branded in High Spirits runs 1 copy against a typical 3, which weakens the Branded spell engine
