Identity & game plan
- Win condition: Revive Horus monsters from the GY with King's Sarcophagus on the field, then convert the 3000-ATK boards (Imsety, Lava Golem, Horus the Black Flame Deity) and Xyz/Link pressure into lethal.; Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord and Underworld Goddess Link/Xyz boards that negate and remove the opponent's interaction.
- Turn 1 (going first): Open with King's Sarcophagus and a Horus searcher (Walls of the Imperial Tomb or Imsety), set up Canopic Protector and Lava Golem as the first real board, and extend through the Sarcophagus recursion.
- Turn 2 (going second): Use Droll & Lock Bird (three copies, hand trap) to slow the opponent's deck searches, then rebuild the Sarcophagus engine from the GY and revive Horus monsters through the board.
- Recovery: Recur Horus monsters and Sarcophagus from the GY with Imsety and the Sarcophagus self-recursion; Mulcharmy Fuwalos refills hand when the board is empty.
- After siding: No side deck in Duel Links; there is no post-side plan. Adaptation is limited to in-game choices.
Why it scores here
The deck opens a functional plan in roughly half of going-first hands: P(at least one King's Sarcophagus in 5 cards) is about 0.50 (Inferred), and every Horus revival route depends on that single enabler. Converting the plan is strong when it lands, since the Horus monsters are 3000-ATK bodies and the Extra Deck carries negate-capable Link and Xyz monsters. Interaction and resilience are moderate: three Droll & Lock Bird and Canopic Protector cover some disruption, but no recorded boards exist to measure the median or floor. The score comes from consistency, median-to-ceiling output and interaction assessed on the system as a whole; it does not come from the archetype's popularity, which is absent here, and it does not average the individual card scores.
Dimension scores
| # | Dimension | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Engine Accessibility & Consistency | 45 | P(at least one King's Sarcophagus in 5-card opening hand) about 0.50 with 3 copies; Walls and Imsety are the only searchers, so the engine is one-card-dependent (Inferred) |
| D2 | Opening-Hand Quality & Brick Management | 48 | Six copies of 3-of playables (Lava Golem needs two Tributes, Canopic and Droll are situational) against seven singleton Horus pieces; brick risk is moderate (Inferred) |
| D3 | Combo Conversion & Ceiling | 55 | No recorded boards (combos_evidence total 0); ceiling read from text as Sarcophagus revival into Imsety/Horus boards plus Galaxy-Eyes or Number 38 negates (Inferred) |
| D4 | Combo Floor & Median Output | 45 | No recorded boards, so median output cannot be measured; text read suggests the average board is a single Horus summon with a partial follow-up (Inferred) |
| D5 | Interruption Resilience & Route Redundancy | 50 | Three Droll & Lock Bird and Canopic Protector provide two independent interruption responses, but both lean on the Sarcophagus line (Inferred) |
| D6 | Resource Economy, Recovery & Grind | 55 | Sarcophagus and Horus GY recursion plus Mulcharmy Fuwalos hand refill give a recovery loop with no recorded resource data (Inferred) |
| D7 | End-Board & Interaction Quality | 60 | Extra-Deck negates (Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord, Number 38, Underworld Goddess) plus three Droll and Canopic Protector; no interaction_density measurement (Inferred semantic read from card text) |
| D8 | Going-Second & Board-Breaking Power | 50 | Three Droll & Lock Bird as going-second hand traps at 0.58 for six-card hands; board-breaking is limited to Number 38 and Underworld Goddess (Inferred) |
| D9 | Offensive Pressure & Closing Power | 58 | Several 3000-ATK bodies (Imsety, Horus the Black Flame Deity, Lava Golem) and Sanaphond ATK growth; piercing and direct text is absent (Inferred) |
| D10 | Main Deck Efficiency & Flexibility | 60 | 25 main-deck cards within 20-30 range with 7 singletons and 6 three-ofs; compact and coherent but 27 of 34 monster/spell slots are off exact archetype name (Verified composition) |
| D11 | Extra Deck Efficiency & Coverage | 62 | Nine distinct Extra Deck cards of which several are alternatives for the same job (Xyz negates); full 9/9 usage with flexible summon routes (Verified composition, Inferred coverage) |
| D12 | Side Deck Adaptability | 30 | Duel Links has no side deck (side_count 0); post-side adaptation cannot be measured (Provisional) |
| D13 | Matchup Coverage & Format Fit | 45 | No tournament link and no archetype meta-share in the export; format fit is unknown (Provisional) |
| D14 | Pilotability & Error Tolerance | 52 | Multi-step Sarcophagus and Imsety sequencing with several once-per-turn gates; moderate decision load but no complex combo steps recorded (Inferred) |
How the score was computed
Strategy profile: 0.8 Midrange / 0.2 Control (structural weights blended). Structural ≈ 51, Going First ≈ 48, Going Second ≈ 52, Meta = provisional, Tournament Reliability ≈ 45. Modifiers: unrecoverable choke point (-3); off-archetype dilution (-1). Final formula: 0.80*Structural + 0.20*TournamentReliability + ContextModifiers (Meta provisional; no dated metagame sample)
Probability & combo summary
- Opening a starter: P(≥1) ≈ 0.5 · key two-card combo ≈ — · full-brick estimate ≈ — (all Inferred)
- Combo output: best PowerIndex —, median —, board-per-starter —
- Turn order: 0 going-first lines vs 0 going-second lines
Strengths
- King's Sarcophagus recursion engine with three copies
- Strong 3000-ATK bodies at 8 Level
- Negate-capable Extra Deck options (Photon Lord, Number 38, Underworld Goddess)
- Three Droll & Lock Bird as going-second hand traps
- Compact 25-card main deck with clear archetype core
Weaknesses
- Single-enabler dependency on King's Sarcophagus
- Exact archetype purity is only 20.6%
- No side deck to adapt post-game
- No recorded combos or tournament data to validate output
- Several singleton Horus pieces are hard to draw
Critical choke points
- King's Sarcophagus must be on the field before any Horus revival (about 50% in going-first 5-card hands)
- Lava Golem requires two Tributes from the field to Special Summon
Recommended changes
| Priority | Remove | Add | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 Photon Jumper | 1 additional Walls of the Imperial Tomb or a second Horus searcher | Photon Jumper is a single-copy off-archetype card; adding a second Horus searcher raises the chance the Sarcophagus engine is live by turn 2 |
Evidence & confidence
- Verified: Legal size 25/9/0 within 20-30, 0-9, 0-9 for duel-links; Coach King Giantrainer at 1 copy (Limited, legal 1); Photon Jumper at 1 copy (Semi-Limited, legal 2); Archetype spread and copy histogram from the export
- Observed: Usage statistics show Horus core cards at 100% inclusion for King's Sarcophagus and Qebehsenuef
- Inferred: Hypergeometric P(at least one Sarcophagus in 5) = 0.5043; Engine accessibility and brick estimates from card text; Interaction quality from negate and removal text; Going-first and going-second splits from text, not records
- Provisional: Meta Power (no dated metagame sample); Matchup and format fit (no tournament link); Post-side adaptability (no side deck in Duel Links)
- Data gaps: no combos supplied; combo floor, median and ceiling are text-only inference no tournament link; archetype meta-share and per-pilot match record absent no win-rate telemetry; going-first/second and brick rates are Inferred Meta Power is Provisional unless a dated metagame sample is supplied usage_statistics in_this_deck flags disagree with the card list: Coach King, Number 90, Number 68, Dingirsu, Underworld Goddess and S:P Little Knight are listed in cards with zone extra but marked in_this_deck false, so the usage flag appears to be main-deck-only guide 1490 has an empty snippet and no sections, so guides_evidence gives no strategic intent
