Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon/Set 1 monster. When you do, if your opponent controls a monster, you can Normal Summon a Level 5 or higher monster without Tributing. During your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY, except the turn it was sent there: You can banish it; add 1 Level 5 or higher monster that can be Normal Summoned/Set from your Deck or GY to your hand, then immediately after this effect resolves, Tribute Summon it. You can only use this effect of "Quick Summon" once per turn.
Quick Summon — Power Evaluation
Final Score: 62 ± 6 · Confidence: Medium
- Intrinsic: 61 · Deck: 62 · Meta: provisional
- Primary role: Starter / Combo enabler · Secondary: Searcher/Tutor, Recovery/Recursion
Why it scores here
Quick Summon converts its value into a Normal Summon of one monster, a conditional no-Tribute Normal Summon of a Level 5+ monster when the opponent controls a monster, and a once-per-turn GY banish that adds a Level 5+ monster to hand and Tribute Summons it, so it returns some value from the GY. It is a generic, cheap, 3-copy staple run in 79 of 79 sampled decks across 48 archetypes, and that breadth is what earns the deck-fit points. It has no interaction, no negation and no combo-board evidence, so the score stays in the low 60s; the high deck count confirms that it is played, not that it is powerful.
Axis scores
| Axis | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | 68 | Run in 100% of 79 sampled decks at 1.92 copies average across 48 archetypes, but it needs a Normal Summon window and the GY effect is conditional on being in the GY (inferred from text and deck stats; no combo starter data). |
| Combo & Conversion | 55 | The text yields one Normal Summon plus a conditional extra no-Tribute Normal Summon, and the GY effect yields a Tribute Summon, so it builds a two-body line at most (inferred from text; no combo examples). |
| Resource Economy | 62 | It trades itself from the GY for one monster added to hand plus a Tribute Summon, a roughly even 1-for-1 with a small refuel (inferred from text). |
| Effect & Interaction | 8 | The card has no negation, removal or hand-trap effect, so it gives the opponent no interaction (verified from card text). |
| Material Utility | 40 | It enables Level 5+ monsters to be summoned without Tribute, which helps material and Level fit, but it does not itself provide a body or Level (inferred from text). |
| Resilience & Flexibility | 58 | The GY effect is once per turn and not usable the turn it was sent to the GY, so it has one hand-to-GY route with limited repeatability (verified from text; inferred for resilience). |
| Deck-Building Efficiency | 78 | It is a single generic spell with no garnet, lock or brick cost, is run at up to 3 copies, and shows broad staple inclusion (observed from decks_evidence). |
Calculation
Weight profile: 0.7 Starter / Combo enabler + 0.3 Searcher / Tutor. Intrinsic ≈ 61, Deck ≈ 62, Meta = provisional. Modifiers: none. Final formula: 0.40*Intrinsic + 0.60*Deck
Strengths
- Live in 79 of 79 sampled decks across 48 archetypes, so it is broadly portable.
- Generic, cheap and splashable, with no garnet or lock cost.
- Gives a Normal Summon plus a conditional no-Tribute Level 5+ summon and a GY search, so it converts a spell into more than one body.
Weaknesses
- No opponent interaction of any kind.
- No combo-board evidence, so combo conversion rests on text alone.
- The GY effect is once per turn and requires the card to be in the GY and not sent there this turn.
Counters / choke points
- Hand traps and GY-response effects that stop a hand or GY activation (inferred from text; not measured).
Best use
Starter / Combo enabler with a secondary GY search for Level 5+ monsters.. Decks: Broad staple inclusion across the 48 sampled archetypes, with the most inclusion in Clown Crew, RaidRaptor and Mitsurugi..
Evidence & gaps
- Verified: Card text: Normal Summon/Set 1 monster, conditional no-Tribute Level 5+ Normal Summon, once-per-turn GY banish to add and Tribute Summon a Level 5+ monster.; 79 of 79 sampled decks run it at an average of 1.92 copies across 48 archetypes.
- Observed: Top partners include Maxx "C" (97.5%), Droll & Lock Bird (87.3%) and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring (83.5%), which show deck-level co-occurrence.
- Inferred: Starter/searcher role is inferred from text because no combo appearances were supplied.; The GY effect is weighted as a small refuel because the banish is a cost.
- Data gaps: no combos supplied — combo conversion is text-only inference no guides supplied no banlist token — assumed 3 copies (unlimited) no usage statistics (StatisticsCard) — archetype inclusion % inferred from deck sample only
