Target 1 face-up monster on the field; reveal 1 "Elemental HERO", "Neo-Spacian", or Level 10 monster from your hand, Deck, or Extra Deck, and the targeted monster's name can be treated as the revealed monster's if used as Fusion Material this turn. Send the revealed monster to the GY if you have "Elemental HERO Neos" on your field or in your GY, otherwise shuffle it back into its Deck (if revealed from the hand, shuffle into the Main Deck). You can only activate 1 "Over Fusion" per turn.
Over Fusion — Power Evaluation
Final Score: 55 ± 6 · Confidence: Medium

- Primary role: Combo enabler · Secondary: Utility
Why it scores here
Over Fusion is a Quick-Play that converts a face-up field monster into a Fusion Material by name, and reveals an Elemental HERO, Neo-Spacian or Level 10 card from hand, Deck or Extra Deck to make that happen. Its value is enabling Fusion lines, mainly Elemental HERO Neos, rather than generating card advantage or interaction, so the resource and interaction axes stay low. The score is held down by the absence of combo data and by its dependence on a specific family, not by the card's ATK or popularity. The 79-deck sample (77% partnered with Neos) confirms the role is real and practical, but that frequency is not used to inflate the score.
Axis scores
| Axis | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | 62 | Needs a face-up field monster and a specific revealed card from hand, Deck or Extra Deck, with one activation per turn; deck sample shows it is run in 79 decks, but there is no as_starter or as_searched data (text-based inference). |
| Combo & Conversion | 55 | The name change lets a Fusion Summon use a monster it could not otherwise use, and the Neos link is observed in 77% of decks; no combo boards were supplied, so conversion strength is text-only inference. |
| Resource Economy | 45 | The effect is card-neutral: it reveals and sends or shuffles a card with no real card advantage or refuel (verified from text, with no combo or deck measurement). |
| Effect & Interaction | 8 | No negation, removal or hand-trap reach (verified from text). |
| Material Utility | 45 | The targeted field monster keeps its body, and the name change makes it usable as Fusion Material this turn; this is a benefit to the material, not a material body itself (inferred from text). |
| Resilience & Flexibility | 35 | A Quick-Play spell that needs a live target and a usable revealed card, so a single spell negation or a missing target ends it; there is no recovery route (inferred from text). |
| Deck-Building Efficiency | 65 | Average 1.18 copies per deck with 68 of 79 decks running one copy, a single non-garnet slot, but tied to HERO and Neo-Spacian support (observed in decks_evidence, with inference on the restriction). |
Calculation
Weight profile: Starter / Combo enabler profile only; no secondary blend applied. Intrinsic ≈ 52.5, Deck ≈ 57.3, Meta = provisional. Modifiers: none. Final formula: 0.40*Intrinsic + 0.60*Deck
Strengths
- Enables Fusion Summons by changing the name of a field monster, which opens Neos and other Fusion lines
- Live in 79 sampled decks and in 17 distinct archetypes, though most are HERO-based
- Low deck cost: one copy in most decks and a single slot
Weaknesses
- No card advantage or interaction; it is card-neutral
- Needs a face-up field monster and a specific revealed card, so it is dead in many openings
- Once per turn and vulnerable to a single spell negation
- Its value is concentrated in Elemental HERO and Neo-Spacian builds
Counters / choke points
- Spell negation for Quick-Play spells (inferred from text)
- Having no face-up field monster to target, or no revealed card available (inferred from text)
Best use
Name-change and Fusion Material enabler that supports Neos and HERO Fusion lines. Decks: Heroic, Elemental HERO and Neo-Spacian Fusion builds, Neos-based Fusion builds. Suggested copies: 1.
Evidence & gaps
- Verified: Quick-Play Spell with a once-per-turn clause and a target on a face-up field monster (card text); Reveals an Elemental HERO, Neo-Spacian or Level 10 card and can send or shuffle it (card text); Present in 79 of the sampled decks, with 68 running one copy (decks_evidence); 77.2% of those decks also run Elemental HERO Neos (decks_evidence top_partners)
- Observed: Heroic is the largest archetype home at 36.7% of decks (decks_evidence); Gameplay type 7 accounts for 48.1% of decks (decks_evidence)
- Inferred: Primary role is Combo enabler because the text enables Fusion Summons through a name change; Resilience is low because a single spell negation or a missing target ends the effect; Card-neutral resource profile because the effect reveals and moves a card without drawing or refuelling
- Data gaps: no combos supplied; combo conversion is text-only inference no guides supplied no banlist token; assumed 3 copies (unlimited) no usage statistics (StatisticsCard); archetype inclusion inferred from the deck sample only no rulings supplied for name-change timing when the revealed card is shuffled versus sent to the GY
