A rather long Banlist was just released tonight with a series of extremely intense changes for Duelists, the Banlist is expected to take effect on September 2, 2024! And here are some thoughts and a short summary:
- Overall, this banlist is slowly 'merging' with the OCG format as the entire Dragon Ruler lineup is released to have more variety in handtraps. At first I thought it was pretty cool but gradually it's becoming normalized.
- Snake-Eyes are also limited to balance the format (Although everyone knows this Deck is already awesome)
- One good thing about this format is that everything is going against the meta, you can notice signs like rogue cards like Time Seal , TD Colossus ,... being released :") On the contrary, most meta cards like Branded are hit (but still exist). Balancing the strength of Decks is necessary and foreign players quite like this :")
- Besides, Apollousa and other aces were banned to reduce the end boards which seems unfair compared to other players. Many people feel quite satisfied because newbies can play together and get familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh! But I personally feel that this is just for commercial purposes, to make more money for other decks :)
